I pad over to the kit. "Oh! THe poor little fur scrap!" I pick him up by his scruff.

Heatherpelt examines the kit. "She has a blind eye and a limp in her leg caused by a fracture which healed incorectly, probably inthe mother's womb. I can do nothing about that. I do not want to try break the leg in the same place in order to let it set properly. I can do nothing about her eye, either. I know what it is like to have only one eye."

I nod and lay down in the shDe wih the kit. "are yOu hungry?" I say as I lay her down next to my belly.
