Well, it all started when I was a warrior. The deputy in our clan died of a terrible case of greencough, and I was one of the only cats to have mentored an apprentice. Out of those only cats, I was the most trustworthy, so Breezestar made me deputy. After her nine lives were killed off, I became leader.
