A fursona contest to be more exact.
I got the idea from a fellow Deviantart member, and bloody Hell, it sounded like fun.
I was going to post this in my dA journal, but you know what?
I don't like anyone on dA >.<
SO I RESERVED THIS ONE FOR YOU
All contestants must enter by March 1st.
THEME:
Design/draw your persona or representative character – beast style! If you have a human persona, design their beast form, if you already have an animal persona, take the time to draw them for this contest and if you don’t have a persona at all, now’s your chance to make one!
DEDLINE: APRIL 1st 2011
RULES:
1) No humans allowed (persona must be in animal style)
2) Must be colored (background is optional)
3) Include reasoning behind design/why and how it represents you under artist's comments.
4) List materials used for traditional artwork (any media accepted)
5) Must be your own work! No usage of pre-made line arts or characters from any other artists.
6) No more than 3 entries per artist (although quality is always preferred over quantity so one is recommended).
JUDGING:
Judging will be based on the following criteria, each graded on a scale of 1-10 (1 being the lowest and 10 the highest). In other words, you can receive a maximum of 10 points for each of the following for a total of 70:
1) DETAIL – Minor details including accessories (take note that overly detailed characters may loose points if detail takes away from their overall design).
2) COMPLEXITY – Complexity of character itself (not including accessories). Again if complexity is taking away from the design, points can be lost.
3) UNITY – If your persona animal is a hybrid (made up of many animals) this scale bases on how well you have combined them so that it looks like a single seamless creature. Simple characters that are unified (such as ones made up of only one animal) will receive the full 10 points in this category.
5) CREATIVITY - Includes creative fursonas, reasoning behind their modeling and materials used in the actual piece.
4) COLOR – Color choice and color application. This category rates how well you have thought about color in your design and how well you have been able to express that color in the artwork.
5) ARTWORK – Based on technique used to make your art and style (skill level is not to be taken into account although may slightly influence decisions in this section). Please include a list of materials used to make your piece for this category if you have used traditional media.
6) DESCRIPTION – You will be writing a little bit about your character and how/why you designed them the way you did in your reply. I am just interested to hear a little bit about your character and why they represent you; interesting stories that explain all parts of the character will be given the full 10 points in this category.
