Koisplash noticed Nightheart and Junipertree, and overheard their small conversation. "Nightheart? Is something wrong?" she asked; noticing the younger black she-cat's rather depressed expression.

Nightheart sat straight up under Junipertree's gaze. She tried to hide the depressed look in her eyes. Then she leaned over to Junipertree. "I said that because I am always treated like an apprentice......" As she noticed Koisplash had overheard, she tried to make herself as small as possible. She crouched low to the ground and covered her face with her paws. She felt utterly helpless and useless.

She sighed. "If you think I'm going to ridicule you for feeling whatever you're feeling, then you're wrong."
The tortoiseshell-and-white cat sat down next to the younger black warrior, curling her thick tail around her paws. "Now, what's wrong?"

"You're not going to be treated like a kit or apprentice!" Junipertree accidently shouted. She hurriedly lowered her voice.
"All you have to do is act like a warrior and you WILL be treated like one!" Junipertree said trying to assure Nightheart.

Nightheart felt something enter her system..... something evil......
As Nightheart stood up, her eyes flashed with anger. She let out a hiss of pure anger, and stalked away.
She stalked over, and then thought, Wait, what am I doing? She then hissed at herself and lie down, covering her face with her paws in embaressment.

Koisplash narrowed her eyes. "Nightheart; you have to accept that no matter where you go or what you do; older cats will still treat you as if you are younger than you really are. It's a fact of life. You need to earn their respect, and if you don't, then why should you care?"

Junipertree shrank back a little at Nightheart's hiss. She was a little confused. Why would Nightheart act like that? She stalked over to Koisplash and layed down next to her.

Nightheart ran to the back and wept out of pure embarresment. She covered her eyes with her paws to hide her tears.

Junipertree watched Nightheart run away. She sighed deeply. 'Why me!', she thought exasperatedly.

Nightheart was ready to apoligize for her actions. She began walking back and then- "Ouch, ouch- cramp in my foot!" And she began hopping around on three paws. "Ah ah.... ow." She said as she relased the cramp and causually padded over to Junipertree. "I'm sorry.... I don't know what got into me." Nightheart apoligized quickly. "I think I need a drink of water- is there a stream or river anywhere near?" She asked, remebering the cramp. Doesn't every cat know, if you get a cramp, the best antidote is a quick chug of water?

"Well...I think there's a small stream somewhere around, but it's quite a walk from here." Koisplash frowned. "Why don't you just sit down? Sooner or later the pain'll go away eventually; it's only a cramp."
As if to illustrate her words, she sat down. "The Gathering should start soon..." she meowed rather irritatedly.

I need to boost my self confidence..... I should punish myself every time I do something stupid and over dramatic. Yes, yes. And prove my strength to the others! This plan will work. Next war, the other clans will be sorry for ever picking a fight with Treeclan. Nightheart thought, letting herself wander. "Hey Koisplash, want to practice a little fighting when we get back to the camp? It would be good for me, and I will keep my claws sheathed. Or how about you, Junipertree?" She asked, really wanting to train, since her old mentor was so distant. Too bad he was so distant, I really wanted to know him better. She thought in sadness.
