Hm. A slick black tom stretched, his lean figure curving into a near perfect arch. Keeping his eyes closed, he walked around, searching for something in the dark. Water touched his paw pads. A puddle, at last. As he opened his eyes, he saw the moonlight casting towards him, making a shadow appear. He turned to look at it. The tom gazed at the black mirror image of his sleek body. Darker than black. Turning back to the puddle, he flicked open his eyelids to see his eyes. They shone radiantly, their orange orbs almost glowing in the night. They were that colour, so bright. That amused Emberpaw, as his spirit wasn't bright. He preferred darkness, rain, thunder. He preferred to live away from the cheery, genuine chain of wonder that was their lives. Emberpaw wished how he could find someone with the same dark spirit as he, someone who understood.

She yawned in the night sky~ Her paws following the path of hard dark ground beneath her. Well~ As a first night as an apprentice, might as well explore the night well it still would last. It was agreeable 'yes' to her. While no other cats were awake, Tigerpaw could not imagine falling back asleep. Something made her anxious about doing so. Careful not to step on any paws or tails in the crowded apprentice den, the apprentice's pelt shined in the moonlight out of the exit and into the moonlight. Scenting the air, the only nearby cats were the ones guarding the entrance.
Scents drifted from the warrior’s and elder’s dens but judging from the sounds of deep breathing and snoring, they were all asleep. Hunting would cause' such hunger arousing. But as vile as she was, she would walk to the fresh kill pile and grab a mouse~ Since it was her first night, she might as well have a stroll, shall she? As she walked delicately to the pile, her jaws picked one up and she started to pad off in the distance.
Night~ All she heard was silence except some chirping crickets. At the corner of her eye, she thought she saw a moving figure but assumed it was just the moon overcasting a cloud. Silently, she grabbed a bite of her mouse. Her tail flickered in glee as she purred softly. Night was so silenced, hopefully someone, a cat or warrior would come.

Emberpaw snapped his gaze away from the puddle. The black tom watched the other apprentice as she ate her mouse. His short, stout figure rose up to his paws, and he stretched once more before approaching with caution, making sure to step silently. "Good evening." He said quietly. This she-cat was so tall compared to him. His short fur ruffled as he yawned. His ears twitched, and he sat down. His pelt seemed to mingle with the shadows, and it was hard for most cats to see him when he was in the dark. The tom sat patiently, looking over the she-cat; She looked sort of like Harrowingpride. The mouse was good to eat. Her chewing rather quiet. Her ears listened for the cricket noises after bites. She purred silently as she sat in the moonlight.. Peace was so quiet.. It made her want to go to sleep now~ And without warning really, a shadow kept coming closer and closer- till she saw the body of two black paws. Nothing surprised her. Like she expected someone or thing to appear. She saw his features.
Dark pelt, yellow bright eyes. She laid her tail to the front of her paws and making sure her feed was done, she spoke kindly enough,"Yes, same to you too. Though it's more like midnight." She replies, glancing at the moon.
So full and pretty," Tonight really, the moon looks full. Those time for gatherings.. right?" She mews curiously and focused her eyes on the tom," Your someone who I've not met, if I may ask, what's your name?" She asked politely and took another small nibble of the mouse and chewed with mouth closed and swallowed the last bit,"I'm Tigerpaw."

"Tigerpaw, hm?" Emberpaw judged the name mentally. It sounded strong and sturdy, but the full rate of the name would depend on the second section. Something like 'roar' would be the perfect name if she was a fierce one. "May I ask what your desired warrior name is?" He inquired, stretching out his tail. "Oh, and about my name, you take a guess." He said quietly. SO LAZAH TT_TT

She shook her head as she slinked down to the ground with her paws as she laid down on the cool smooth ground beneath her, about to turn to look after when a rustle in the treetops caught her attention but was just the wind itself and shrugged.
"Who knows. Everyone's name gets chosen by their mother. My name is Tigerpaw. I don't think I would change it to anything different except an exception with the leader for a warrior name~ It would be nice to decide what mine would be~ I haven't gave it much thought. A name like-- Tigerripple or Tigerstripe."
She flicked her tail lightly,"Even now, whatever it will be, I'm sure it will be great~" She mews thoughtfully as she looked at the moon that looked like a huge orb. And her ear flicked to his comment of his name, she glanced at his features . . Thinking of getting his name right and just laid her head on her paws silently, letting out a small yawn.
"Why guess? You don't have to tell me your name if you don't want to." She said quietly though she guess anyway,"Shadow . .paw . .?" She suggested,"You did come out of the shadows after all~ Not that you surprised me at all."

"I didn't surprise you? I was trying to?" He asked quaintly, laughing a little. "I just confronted you. You're close with my name. You see my eyes? I'm called Emberpaw." He grinned, flicking his tail. The black glossy pelt on his back relaxed at how open this she-cat was. Strange. "You're planning to follow the profound 'Warrior Code, right?"
What she says now will make or break a friendship.

She gave him a curious look,"I was so sure I was right." She responded to what he now revealed his name,"Well, with your quietness, in truth, it was hard to tell if it was you or the wind so, um yeah, you did sort of sneak up on me. I just do a good job for anyone not to notice~" She looked at him with a tiny smile," And I bet it worked, right?"
She was probably the most carefree spirit there could be. And yet. Yet, the camp seemed have been closing in on her. She must admit that it was nice to speak to another cat now~ And wished this conversation would last long than she expected it. His eyes . . .? "Heh, that's the only thing that lights up on you. It is your eyes after all. No matter though, you still remind me of a shadow, if you don't mind, I think I'll call you that."
She replies coolly,'It is a pleasure to meet you once again though. But, why are you up is my question." Tigerpaw mews and took a second to respond to Emberpaw's wording,"Well, yes. That's how I and you are apprentices aren't we? Our dreams to become warrior~ Well, the code is what guides us both. Don't you agree?"

"Yes, it did work." He smiled, an expression he rarely used, and nodded.
"No, I don't mind. Shadow is a nice name, I reckon." He nodded again, feeling a little worried as to how she would answer his last question. He looked at his paws as she answered.
Well, yes. That's how I and you are apprentices aren't we? Our dreams to become warrior~ Well, the code is what guides us both. Don't you agree?
"No. I don't. Rules are a borderline that restrict true potential. These rules fence us in on only what others want us to do. And there, we remain trapped in those borders, those rules. When it is too late to change, you've been intoxicated by the boundaries set by others, and you lose compassion to break them. I had hoped that there would be another cat outside the border." He said, having a blank expression on his face as he spoke, explaining his philosophy.
"I was hoping... But hopes end in emptiness."

She flicked her tail highly,"Cats can deceive you in the finest ways." She responded, glad it worked on him. Well this conversation was getting interesting by the minute. She wiped a paw over her ear than stretched her paws out in front of her. She guessed it would be a long night~ Might talk their ears off till broken dawn. And another day to start and end. Something he said caught her off guard.. " But still, everyone follows it. it's nothing bad, it's just the clan rules and how it works. And than, eventually, all cats begin to not notice anything but to protect our border and clans."
"I don't see anything wrong with that. And who would break the rules anyway? "
Tigerpaw mews, trying to understand him or what he was saying"Though if you'd like another cat to come across us one day~ That will happen. ust keep your eyes open.. It seems like you want an outsider to join us or something. To tell us about their ways of living. And when they do that, once they see how great a clan is, they'll stay in it. ". Wondering if that what was Emberpaw was saying,"I bet Beechstar would let him or her join." Tigerpaw was silent for awhile than spoke again. ," Is that how you want it to be, or is there more to it. You must be interested in life outside the clans."
Tigerpaw said otherwise,"Oh and Shadow? Yeah, it is a nice name. I think when you a warrior or doing a patrol with your mentor at night, you would easily tackle a cat down. You'll match the darkness. And that is why I said Shadowpaw. Your surprise would be sneakiness.. Least that's what I think." Glad he liked the lil' nickname Tigerpaw had said. it clearly did match him.
"Everyone has hopes and dreams~ Your life hadn't even started yet. So, your hopes will come soon."

"Such wise words for an apprentice." He praised her, and this time, her words caught him off guard.
Though if you'd like another cat to come across us one day~ That will happen. ust keep your eyes open.. It seems like you want an outsider to join us or something. To tell us about their ways of living. And when they do that, once they see how great a clan is, they'll stay in it "Close. I just don't agree with a lot of the rules. Without fights between clans, we would all become soft, mushy crowfood. Life outside the clans isn't exactly what I'm getting at though. An outsider would be well welcome in my opinion, Tigerpaw. I just... There probably won't be one during my time. "
Perhaps I should just ignore my current beliefs and create myself a new persona... Yes. I'll do that.
"Thank you, about all this, and the whole Shadowpaw thing. Perhaps you have changed my view a little." Everyone has hopes and dreams~ Your life hadn't even started yet. So, your hopes will come soon "So wise, Tigerpaw, so wise." He whispered, swishing his tail and blinking slowly.

"That's what the training is for though. But yeah, I wouldn't mind some battling here and there every once.. Um, it wouldn't be once. Maybe it will be more. I've heard stories from Gentleheart and others that in the past, that there were raids in Tree and even the other clans. I guess those could excite you a little more. We are both young still so, it's not like your life will end right now."
It felt like Ember.. Shadowpaw was giving up. Saying these stuff was like he would die young as an apprentice. He shouldn't think like that. Just what was he thinking? She wondered. This conversation with clans and the rules and everything. I say, it confused her a bit. Though she was glad he would greet an outsider if one came in their time.
"Yes but well.." Trying to find words to saying the clan was soft and mushy.. "Every cat is different. Really, we might look soft but some are very strong and can get rid of any cat that comes in it's path. Whoever your mentor is, I bet when it comes to battle, you would win.
She looked to him,"Your taking the clan and outsiders very seriously.. You'll be a great warrior." She replies and her ears perked to the word 'wise.'
"Wise? Oh, I just ramble . . ." Seriously though, she was pleased to what he said,"Thank you. Your the first to say that." And she continued after listening to him. "The name suites you. You must be really wanting to protect the clan.. The talk about rogues and the strong and the weak.. Treeclan is not weak or it won't be. we are like, the new generation for that."

Emberpaw smiled a little. "I don't even have a mentor." He laughed, a little glad the mood had lightened. He listened to her, and nodded. "Thank you. With these wise.. Well, if you want, rambling words, you too will make a fine, fine warrior." Emberpaw purred and nodded quickly. It just sometimes seemed like TreeClan was... a bit... a bit empty. It could use some fresh blood. "If we are the new generation, then we must prosper to keep our ancestors' reputations, of the strong, the wise, the brave."

Even though they were miles away from the territory~ Tigerpaw wouldn't mind going for a hunt or something like that~ This topic was quite funny to Tigerpaw but it did bring a surprise to her that she didn't talk Shadowpaw's ears off. Normally, she couldn't talk this much to any other cat but since this topic brought on some interest, it was a wonder why it kept on going. She was learning to facts about Shadowpaw than any other cat~ For instance, he had no mentor.
Her expression went blank, as her eyes focused on a pebble beside her paws. She moved in and turned it over and still listened to him. She pawed the pebble to him. May look confusing but Tigerpaw had something to say to that," You have no mentor . .? Well, take this pebble, how did this get here?"
She asked,"There had to be some way it got here.. The wind, a cat kicking it here.." Giving off reasons of why. Interest showed in her eyes and she looked to Shadowpaw," If what you say is true~ I bet you just snuck in from out of the nursery and just went in the apprentice den when you thought you were big enough to leave.."
Tigerpaw thought a bit, trying to remember if she even knew a 'Emberpaw/kit' in the den. None came to mind that night. ''Come to think of it.. This is the first time I met you.. So, you must be an apprentice way before me.. You must be pretty sneaky but not the brightest." She purrs in a laughable purr,"I therefore, haven't gotten trained at all. So, we are pretty even."
Tigerpaw mews,"But you got here somehow so you must have a mentor." Referring back to the pebble and him,"Of course it took me awhile to wait for my ceremony and now that I'm here, I'm not really desperate to get the training going."
Hearing what Shadowpaw said, she nodded,'' Yeah . . If only they were here, now that would be great to meet them.."

"Yeah, I guess we are. Although I think I've been an apprentice for a while now. I probably won't be bothered to get one, either. But that's just me not wanting to get of my lazy butt." The tom mewed contently. "I'm impressed that you speak so profoundly, in an enigmatic and wise way... But anyway, that's about true. Perhaps a kit-aged me crept out of the nursery, in here, and then decided to live here." The tom summed up, rolling his bright orange eyes at himself.
