The Price of Love

Ellie's eyes pierced into me, sharp as daggers. My hand feel from Keishon's shakingly. Worriedly. We were caught in...a very compromising position. It could have been taken many ways. But Ellie wasn't dumb, no matter how inconsiderate she was. She knew what was up. "It was bound to happen sometime," I remembering whispering as I lifted myself up, off of Keishon, and onto the couch. I gave Ellie a I-know-I'm-not-innocent-but-you-aren't-exactly-that-either look, which was met by furious brown eyes. She started screaming. Cuss words poured out of her mouth as if she'd turned on a faucet. I heard Keishon swallow hard as he noticed my fist clench. I didn't let anyone talk to me like that, and this time was going to be no exception, ex-best friend or not. I turned on my faucet, and advanced with each petrifying word. She backed up, into a tree, and simply stared at me. "Never seen a real woman mad, huh," I heard my cousin, Dawn, ask Ellie sarcastically from next to Keishon. Of course she hadn't, that was no surprise. I swallowed, whirled around, and went back to Keishon's welcoming arms. Ellie gave me the most disgusted look as I pulled myself to my tippy toes, and kissed her boyfriend. On the lips. Nothing held back. And he didn't hesitate to kiss me back. Lovely way to say "Hey, this is me breaking up with you because your a total -colorful word- to me," is it not? When I'd had enough, I let myself back onto all my feet, and looked toward Ellie. She stomped furiously toward me, closing the gap quickly. As she grabbed me by the hair, she screamed, even louder then before,
"What the -colorful word- is wrong you with you, you -colorful word-?!"

I just smiled.
