I curled up in my nest, silent as usual. I was left alone with my thoughts, and I didn't mind it that way. I had a vast imagination, so I could keep myself entertained for a good while. Although I will admit, it did get pretty lonely, not being able to talk to anybody else.

This is it, Coldpaw's first day in the apprentice's den. She grew nervous as she made her way towards the den, she peeked in and noticed a tom curled up in his nest. Coldpaw dashed away and she came back with some moss in her mouth, she came into the den and began to spread the fresh moss out on the den floor, making her nest. She sat down in her nest which was near his and she purred. " Hello. My name is Coldpaw. What's your name? "

My eyes flashed to the new Apprentice and I gave a nod in greeting. When the she-cat asked my name, I looked away sadly, shuffling on my paws. This part in a meeting was always awkward, because I well, couldn't speak. After a while, it usually turned into a guessing game about what my name was. Other cats always guessed quietpaw or something, then realized I couldn't talk at all and they found out silentpaw. It hurt, it did. But I was trying to get over it. I opened my mouth and tried to speak, but just turned into a quiet breath.
