Transformations
It began as I hung from my legs in the big cherry tree. Its soft blossoms caressed my face and body as I began shrinking and wrapping myself up into a dry, brown swath of protection. How I long to break free of this cocoon, I will pull myself from this first form onto a leaf. The suns warm tendrils are cascading down onto my slowly developing form. Here I lie until the change is complete. Slowly as my wings unfold, Brilliant colors are exposed, Vibrant shades of blue and gold. Maybe someday I will fly up into the deep azure sky, Jeweled, gossamer wings spread, Flutter off into the open sky. Free to swoop and dive, Metamorphosis complete, Joyful and so alive.
