 Specklepaw looked down in innocence at her paws sitting inside the apprentices' den her head wide eyed down looking at the butterfly sitting utterly still on her paws. The brown she-cat flicked her paw and watched the butterfly fly away giving a happy squeak. Specklepaw longed to be out with a friend and play games like the others but, had met no other cats lately that wanted to play or practice with her. The she-cat gave a sigh then looked back.

The new Apprentice , Jaypaw , walked quietly inside the den , in his jaws hung a patch of moss , bracken , and a few clumps of rabbit fur for his nest. The calico tom gazed around , noting that the Den was larger than the Nursery. His bright , yet serious - looking amber eyes settled on a spot he could make his nest in , just beside another cat's nest. Jaypaw padded over to the cool spot , putting down the moss , bracken , and rabbit fur. The tom picked up the moss , gently puting it down to the place he desired it most to be in.
There , Jay set it down , forming it into a warm nest , big enough for himself to fit in. He put a white paw on top of it and started smoothing it down , adding the bracken and the white fur afterwards. After he was done , his amber eyes flickered in the sun's light , settling down on a spotted Apprentice. I could try making new friends here , he thought with a nimble shrug of his shoulders. Smiling slightly , the calico made his way to the Apprentice , sitting down beside her with his eyes on his white paws.
"Erm .. Hi. I'm Jaypaw .. Scarhealer's Apprentice." Jaypaw meowed in a slightly nervous voice , turning to her with a light smile. he dipped his head in greeting. "What about you , miss ?" Jay asked politely , turning to the sun's light just a few tail - lengths from where he sat.
