Poking his head inside, his silver eyes glowed like beacons as they explored the apprentice's den. Fresh from the nursery, along with his friends, the new freshmen of the den. Batpaw, also known as Batly. Batpaw stepped inside, dragging along moss behind him, for his nest fo course. The den seemed vacant of other apprentices, so he chose a spot over in the corner. It was spaced out and shaded from the other splotches of sunlight dappling the floor. Spreading the moss to fit his shape, he heard a swish, his ears twitching. His eyes looked up, finding a cat standing in the entrance, expression unreadable, shrouded in shadows.

Pheasantpaw stepped inside the den with a mouse locked firmly in her jaws. Her long cream and brown legs made her seem taller. "Hello, Batly." She chided in a soft tone. Her mouth opened and the mouse dropped out. With one paw, she flung it To her best friend. She had moved in earlier due to orders. "Hey, will you move next to my nest? I was invited by another cat to move next to him. In which I did. So would sleep right next to me?" She pointed to the nest that was directly below her. "That's where the cat who invited me sleeps." She smiled and gave an expressionless smile to Batpaw.

Batpaw smiled, but inside he was a bit nervous. Something about his besy friend had changed, she was taller, but not the energized kit he loved He hoped that cat hadn't left, and who was the new cat? Shaking his head, Bat dragged his nest next to Pheasantpaw's. "When did you catch this?" He asked sweeping the mouse next to him. But as any other cat, he was excited to have changed from a kit to an apprentice.

Pheasantpaw padded to her nest and curled her long snake-like tail around her paws. "I Cloudclan. It was the probably the stupidest thing I've ever done." She giggled a bit. "I was going to look at the out side of camp for a moment and I saw the mouse nibbling on a seed. I didn't know how to hunt so I sneaked up and stepped on its neck." She lightly knocked his side with a paw. "Once I learn how to battle you'll be going down!" She showed her fangs playfully and rolled onto her back. Her short furred stomach puffed up against the slight breeze floating in. Her chest and stomach was more of a lighter cream than the rest of her. "Maybe we will hunt or tour together!"

Batpaw laughed cuffing his best friend on the ear, "When you win, I'll either be an elder or crippled, either way, I'll still give you a hard time!" He laughed hissing back at Phez. When she mentioned training together, he sighed, "I haven't even met my mentor yet. But we'll fit something in!" He ended with a rising octave. Batpaw dioped his head to come close to the ground, wiggling his haunches. "His name is Greycloud, he is also a senior warrior." He boasted puffing up his chest, eyes glittering.

Pheasantpaw gave a glittering smile. "Oh? Well, my mentor is Beechstar's daughter." She whisked her tail back and forth with a devious look. She stretched and popped her shoulders. Felt good to be loose. "Eh, I am in order to make sure my nest is nice and neat and I am also supposed to get some rest. She shined brightly and strettched out her paws so her pad could tap Bat's chin. As in she did. "I've never actually laid down on my back like this." Pheasantpaw giggled. "It feels nice. C'mon!" Her face was bright and her eyes were like little light bulbs.

Batpaw purred contently, taking the mouse with him as he plopped down next to her. He didn't roll on his back, he just gave Phez a crazy look and put his paw on her shoulder. "You really have gone mad, but thats why were friends." He laughed pulling the mouse over. Silver eyes shining, he looked at Pheasantpaw, "Wanna share? I don't mind." He insisted. Bat smiled graciously at the siamese, he really did appreciate her company, he might have been that lonely cat no one likes without her to break the ice.

"I'm the batty one." Pheasantpaw gave a cheesy smile and rolled her eyes. "It's okay. I've already eaten. I brought the mouse in for another apprentice." She brought up one chocolate pointed paw and poked Batpaw's black side. "I'm crazy in two ways. One: I'm just this way in my personality and two is that I learned early." She flicked her tail against her friend's nose and grinned. "Maybe I'll race you some time." She giggled and wiggled her toes in satisfaction. "That would be quite fun to spend a day in the forest with you."

Batpaw sighed, " Yeah it would be great!" He could already imagine running through the forest brushing pelts with his best friend. A purr continued to make it's way through. "But also, and don't forget that I'm named Bat for a reason." He gave a demented laugh and nudged Pheasantpaw with his nose.

Pheasantpaw batted his nose and chuckled a bit. "Don't get too demonic!" She flipped back to her stomach so her soft belly wasn't exposed to the world. "It would be fun to race you." She blinked her hazelish blue eyes and scratched her ear a moment. "I can already see me winning." She teased while gesturing to her long athletic looking legs. "I could beat you with my eyes closed!" She exclaimed in a funny voice that couldn't be taken seriously. Batpaw was her key to not being shy. He was the one who broke her eerie silence in her plummeting skills to socialize.

His silver eyes rolled dramatically, "When will you learn that I will always be superior to you!" He gave sneer, his voice in the same silly tone. Suddenly, and he started to worry about future things, and he turned to Phez curiously, "What will happen after we're warriors? Things will inevitably be different, we're not in the nursery now, the world is at our mercy. Phez, what is gonna happen to you and me?" He asked sitting up to look at the pretty siamese. Muscles pulled at his mouth, and a warm smile forming on his muzzle.

Pheasantpaw let a smile replace her smug grin. The smile was just tugging at the edge of her lips. "You can dream on Batpaw." She licked her chest fur and giggled at his dramatic tone of saying he was better. Just as he spoke more her face turned to a puzzled expression. "We'll win an abundant amount of battles, that's for sure...um...well, we will be bigger and we'll still be friends." Her tail tapped the ground as she thought. "What's your goal in making me think over this?" She winked and got up. She stretched ever limb and stood straight and tall. "I don't know, but I do know that I want to go climb some trees."

"I worry." He replied simply. He worried about everything too, especially his and Phez's friendship. Things were bound to change surely she knew that too. Shaking his head free of thoughts, he turned to smile, "How about the oak, and outside of the den?" He already began heading out, the tree looming over him with I see cradling branches. Batpaw turned around a sneer on his face. "You ready for this?" He joked.

"No need to worry. I don't know how I would cope without you!" Pheasantpaw exclaimed with a high amount of pride place in her words as she puffed out her sleek furred chest. She was not much. Just a tiny cat with sleek fur. Didn't look very pretty either. Her hazel-blue eyes stretched as she looked at the large oak. Well, it was large for her anyways. "Whoa. That's a big tree." She murmured before letting her face harden. "Bring it on." She showed her fangs once more and raced to the tree. Her claws out, she started scrambling up the tree. Her sharp claws sunk deep into the soft rotting tree bark as she came higher and higher. She was fast for an apprentice!

Batpaw followed after sinking his claws in and hopping up two legs at a time, until, he could manage hopping from branch to branch. The tom was heavy, weighed down by his weight, but he was also efficient. He didn't tire as he made his way up the tree, he barely painted as he made his way to fall by into step with his best friend. "Getting tired?" He asked a mocking tone lighting his voice.
