I myself am not a homosexual other wise known a straight. Now, I believe, despite the fact I am Republican that the government should not control who you can marry because I believe its unconstitutional. Now, you don't have to agree with me because I am fairly religious but, in all religions I believe it states that your god or gods tell you to be happy and do what you wish as long as you live and follow some rules of your religion. Now back on topic, what do you support gay rights or do you not support gay rights?

People have a right to do what they want with their lives. Personally, I believe homosexuality is not proper, but everyone has their own opinions and such.

I don't think it's what God meant to happen, but in their minds, they can do whatever and that's fine with me

I am atheist, so I really don't care about what God says about gay relationships being wrong.
Honestly? I think homosexual couples are the cutest pair. Hell, they are.
Gay marriage is perfectly fine. :3

I hold a r4espect for gays cause they are frankly brave. Most people hate them but they are brave for taking a stand for themselves.

.. Mm. There are many different sexualities, and opinions to go along with them on VWW. I am bisexual, actually. But, there have been studies that have concluded that homosexuality isn't just humans, it's been find in over three-hundred species or so. And I don't think it has much to do with religion, either. I'm not an atheist, I just don't really follow any religion at all. Doesn't matter to me. And this is not me calling out any Catholics/Christians, and disagreeing with their views. I don't disagree. I just have different ones.
I could go on with more, but I don't have energy at the moment. ._.

hmm I understand. being Christian I think the rules of MOST religions aren't accepting as they say. But, its true. If homosexuality is found in vover three-hundred species them majority would rule rule. Or am I crazy?

-Is Excited to see this thread-
First off, I'm atheist. I'm also lesbian. (Yes. I am a girl)
I guess there's a lot I could say about God, but that's not really what this is about. But at the same time- people mix religion and homosexuality contently. I'd like to make it clear that I am not atheist because i'm gay. I have other logistics that run through my mind about God. So anyway, back to the topic.
Most homophobic humans believe that gays choose to be what we are. Well, let me tell you, i don't. I can't help my attraction to girls and that's just it. Chew on this, why would a gay choose to be so different? To be frowned upon in a hateful society? Why would we wish to get bullied, harassed, and live our lives being tortured. However, do not get offended, heterosexuals, because I also know that not everyone does those things. But face it, a lot of people do.
I would also like to point out that many people state that homosexuals are going to adopt children and turn them homosexual as well. This is so very untrue. Again, it is not a choice and I could not forcibly raise my children to be homosexuals. If they are attracted to the same sex, so be it. If they are attracted to the opposite, okay!
Getting married- Now, what's so wrong about this, guys? When you marry someone in your heterosexual relationships, you are creating a bond. You are dedicating to yourself to one person, and you are willing to live your life with that person, because you love them with everything you can. Well, homosexuals are no different. We, as humans (not just gays) also desire the show of affection and companionship.
This is an aruguement I have recently came across: Argument #4: That same-sex marriage would require schools to teach tolerance
I have trillions of problems with this. First, tolerance shouldn't be 'taught in schools'. Tolerance is simply something that you should be born and raised with. Gays do NOT effect you in anyway, let us be! You shouldn't have to 'tolerate' us anyway, we have done nothing to harm you.
Another one~
Argument #8: That legal U.S. same-sex marriage would encourage its spread.
Encourage it's spread!?! NO. No. NO NO NO. We aren't going to magically all start turning into homos just because it's legalized. Bro, we were already homos BEFORE the legalization. UGH
How about another~ Having a mom and a dad is better for children than having two moms or two dads.
WHAT. THE. -colorful words- Bro, i've grown up with a single mom for quite awhile now. And I'm FANTASTIC thank you.
There's so much more I can say, but really, how many of you are going to read what I wrote anyway...
But please, if you read that, give me some good counterarguments... some questions.. some agreements... anyone?
With this ^ I must agree. Homosexuality is found in a lot of species. But homophobia is found in only one. Humans.

Gay people = people people= humans humans have a basic right to be happy and get married Therefore gays have a right to be happy and get married.
What's the big deal?
Some people ask "How am I supposed to tell my kids that two men are getting married?"
How would you tell them if two men got married to wives at the same day in the same place? "Well son those two love their wives and are getting married because they love each-other?"
So tell them those two men love each-other and want to be married", that's what happens if you love someone and couldn't bare to leave them or see them with another person.
So who are you to tell them they can't be wed? Who are you to hide underneath your religion because gay marriage may or may not put you in an awkward situation? Gay people don't shun you for marrying straight, so treat others how you wish to be treated and the world might be bearable again. Big whoop.
(I am not trying to bash religions, this is just a point I am trying to make.)

Okay, look, I'm a christian and have NOTHING against gays or lesbians. i don't bully them or put them down or anything like that. But, I do have to say that in the Bible, it says in Genesis (the 1st book of God's Word for all you non-knowers/believers) that a MAN and a WOMAN shall be married and repopulate the Earth. now, I don't support gay marriages because it's against God's Word. And I don't want any atheists or homos to think I'm a bad person because of this. NO! I just believe what the Bible says and live according to its teachings. that's all I have to say at the moment. I'll be happy to explain any questions any of you give me as best as I can. (just 2 say, im also Naturewind and Arrowpaw.)
