Religion shouldn't even be involved in a debate about the right to marry. It's a human right. WHERE'S THE FACEBOOK LIKE BUTTON. I WANT TO USE IT SO MUCH RIGHT NOW I CAN'T EVEN-- -ahem- So the Bible apparently says homosexuality is a sin. It also says to stone teenagers who disobey their parents to death, never wear mixed fibers, that women are inferior to men, and to never eat shellfish and pork. Yet, no one stones teenagers now, people wear mixed fibers all the time, women have the same rights as men, and billions of people eat shellfish and pork. How is that any different besides gay people getting married as well? In fact, how is gay people marrying any different from a man and woman marrying besides the same-gender connotation? Oh yeah, and Swiftflight stole a lot of my words. Thank you, Swiftflight.

First, the Bible DOES say it is wrong. When it said that a man and woman must repopulate the earth, that's very true! Now, marriage is just a ceremony to show that you love this person and you want to be with them forever, but you're supposed to repopulate the earth with that person. I know that sometimes doesn't always work out, but it's true. Now when it says in Leviticus that "A man shall not lie with another man, as should a woman; it is an abomination..." Abomination there means that it makes God disgusted. So God does NOT like gays to be together. Thank you for pointing that out so I could explain, Swiftflight. I did not realize that was in Leviticus. The part when you said that 'Cleanliness is Godliness' and that people were acting 'godly' was a sin. If you were being godly as in helping the poor, that would NOT be a sin. But if you tried to actually BE God, that would be a sin. Make sense? When you said it's been through multiple editors, you were right. BUT, they didn't edit the Bible. They kept the same words, they just translated it. For the kids they got the closet definitions possible for the words they couldn't understand. Now, I know what you're thinking. 'Okay, it's been through so MANY translators that it won't be the same from the written scrolls.' Wrong! Those translators went to the ORIGINAL scrolls archaeologists found in old pots and things in caves and went over their writing so many times, the Bibles we have today are 99.99999999% close to the scrolls. And that is a scientific fact. I did not just go and make that number up. Second, Jesus DOES think it's wrong. He's God's Son and He is God himself. Now, people DO know what Jesus said because it's in the Bible what He said. And what did I say in the last paragraph? The Bibles today are 99.99999999% close to the ORIGINAL scrolls. And btw, Jesus lived 2012 years ago. Our nation's calendar is based on the birth of Jesus. Third, It IS a sin. And actually, there is only ONE sin. Disobeying God. So all the stuff you could name - war, stealing, murder - are all the RESULTS of sin, the results of disobeying God. Fourth, It will NOT discourage traditional marriage. Okay, I don't see how that will discourage traditional marriage. That's my say on that. And fifth, I just think it's gross! Well, heck yeah! I do! Sorry homos, but I do. Well, that's all I have to say right now. Actually, thanks, in the context in which the word "abomination" was used, it simply means unclean. So please go chew on a jumper cable.

When I said I had nothing against them, I didn't use the right words. I'm sorry. I just meant I don't make fun of them or avoid them because they're gay. Sorry for the confusion. And, btw, I DO know what I'm talking about. Plus, our calendar IS based on the birth of Jesus. I don't know where you heard that it wasn't, but please tell me where you did. And Brandy, yes abomination does mean unclean right there, and God doesn't like uncleanliness. So I WAS right when I said God doesn't like it when people are gay. Also, I'm not forcing people to stop being gay and not to marry the same sex. I'm just saying the Bible says it's wrong, and I think it's wrong.

Okay, fine. I have a question for all those people who claim that the Bible, and therefore God, says gays are wrong. God created everything and everyone. So, if God doesn't like gay people, why did He make them at all? He's God, He could've gotten rid of the very notion of being attracted to the same sex, and He didn't.

Umm Koi I am christian. I suport gay marriage for that reason. God created us all for a reason. He made people gay because he wanted them to be. SO no, t5echnically gay marriage isn't wrong. Especially, since the bible says to love in respect all.

I find it hard to converse with you. o-e So, how about this? How would you like it if I went around believing in some. . I 'unno, random goddess who thought that gay marriage was correct. Ew, straight people. See how that.. kind of hurts? Saying that the people who we are, not who we chose to be, grosses you out because of one tiny trait about us? No. You don't get how it hurts because you don't live with it.

That there was really ironic, but it's the only thing that would fit there. >3> How'd you like it if we plopped you into the body of someone homosexual for a day? No, really, imagine it. And for the sake of it, even if you don't believe it, know that it's something you cannot escape. Imagine being called a 'homo.' Imagine being told to be forgiven for something you can't help- that the Bible implies that being born a certain way is disgusting. That it implies that you are disgusting. How do you like that?

-Is Excited to see this thread- Most homophobic humans believe that gays choose to be what we are. Well, let me tell you, i don't. I can't help my attraction to girls and that's just it. Chew on this, why would a gay choose to be so different? To be frowned upon in a hateful society? Why would we wish to get bullied, harassed, and live our lives being tortured. However, do not get offended, heterosexuals, because I also know that not everyone does those things. But face it, a lot of people do. I would also like to point out that many people state that homosexuals are going to adopt children and turn them homosexual as well. This is so very untrue. Again, it is not a choice and I could not forcibly raise my children to be homosexuals. If they are attracted to the same sex, so be it. If they are attracted to the opposite, okay! Getting married- Now, what's so wrong about this, guys? When you marry someone in your heterosexual relationships, you are creating a bond. You are dedicating to yourself to one person, and you are willing to live your life with that person, because you love them with everything you can. Well, homosexuals are no different. We, as humans (not just gays) also desire the show of affection and companionship. This is an aruguement I have recently came across: Argument #4: That same-sex marriage would require schools to teach tolerance I have trillions of problems with this. First, tolerance shouldn't be 'taught in schools'. Tolerance is simply something that you should be born and raised with. Gays do NOT effect you in anyway, let us be! You shouldn't have to 'tolerate' us anyway, we have done nothing to harm you. Another one~ Argument #8: That legal U.S. same-sex marriage would encourage its spread. Encourage it's spread!?! NO. No. NO NO NO. We aren't going to magically all start turning into homos just because it's legalized. Bro, we were already homos BEFORE the legalization. UGH How about another~ Having a mom and a dad is better for children than having two moms or two dads. WHAT. THE. -colorful words- Bro, i've grown up with a single mom for quite awhile now. And I'm FANTASTIC thank you. With this ^ I must agree. Homosexuality is found in a lot of species. But homophobia is found in only one. Humans. Okay. I know this is going back a really long way, but, Here goes. 1: I am not homosexual. 2: I agree with this. A LOT. 3: My mother is lesbian, and she has raised me my entire life, and I am not homosexual. so one urban legend re-debunked. 4: not all homosexuals do adopt kids. and if they do, they understand that probably these kids have been through hardships, and parent them just like normal. their parenting strategies are not wrong, just maybe a little different if different at all. I was an in-vetro baby, so I cannot really say the adopted things with a lot of reinforcements, because I dunno what it is like, but, I can see the other side too. my brother is gay, but he grew up with my mom's ex partner. a completley different woman. died of drug overdose 2 years ago. so really, all of these judgements just occur, because people become subconsciously biased by their religion, then when they see someone like that, all of these homophobic thoughts come up, bringing all of the against gay rights ideals. Also, may I note that it is mostly republicans against these laws, and most of them seem to be die hard christian/catholic/mormon? so a lot of this is religion bias. really, homosexuals and heterosexuals have all the same rights, or should. My opinion personally. thanks much for considering this side of it.

God didn't make them gay! They chose to be that way. Now those of you who can't help it, I'm not going to explain again. I already have. Look back in the other pages.

God didn't make them gay! They chose to be that way. Now those of you who can't help it, I'm not going to explain again. I already have. Look back in the other pages. How do I put this lightly? Oh wait. I don't freaking care.
First of all, why on earth would someone choose to be gay if they knew fully well that people would dislike them for that? Moreover, why would God even give them the option? If He truly hated the LGBT community and it's supporters as much as you assume He does, then why the hell would He give them the option of choosing?
Another thing is that your sexuality is partially formed by your hormones. If I had gotten less estrogen and more testosterone, I may or may not be attracted to women. I may or may not have been born destined to have the voice of a man. But I wasn't. Now either you can choose to believe in a professional scientific research's results or you can choose to live your life as a bigoted arse. Who you like and who you don't isn't a choice. It's how people are born, how they're programmed. So kindly take a firm grasp on your hair and pull your head out of your butt because no one wants to hear you talk.
And you can click here and learn because - believe it or not - you can have your silly religion and not be a total d-bag about it.

Like I said, look back in the other pages to see what I said. If you're too lazy to do it, okay. That just shows you don't about it as much as some people do. Not saying you don't care. Now, alot of people on here have been interested to see what I have to say. Yes, I was offended by what you said. But do you know what? I don't care what you said to me. And christianity isn't silly. Further more, he gave us the option to see how faithful we are in Him. It's like a test. And science is not how I answer my questions in life. I answer and have answers from the Bible. Whether you choose to believe me or not is your choice, not mine. And God loves us ALL. If you want a full explanation, either go back through the pages to see what I wrote or go to questions.org that is a site that explains the Bible, verses, and much more. See for yourself. You don't have to believe me, and I'm sure you won't. Take it from a more reliable source if you choose to not believe me.
