More Battle Injuries

[Diamondlight]

Diamondpaw limped into the den, with Oddpaw leaning on her shoulder. The battle that she had just been through had created more emotional scars than physical, and that was something she didn't want to ever have to go through again. "Snakefang?" she weakly called into the medicine den. Every muscle in her body ached, and her front paw that she had twisted earlier screeched its pain. "Snakefang, we need help," Diamondpaw called again.

[Oddpaw]

Oddpaw limped agasint Diamondpaw, other than her eyes being clawed shut, she had a long scar down her back, from falling on rough rock ground. "D-Diamondpaw..Do you think I'll still be able to become an warrior..?" Her voice was sad, and worry filled, a unfamilar type of tone for such a happy Apprentince.

[Sunblaze]

It seemed that Snakefang wasn't in the medicine cat den at the time. So Sunblaze came out to help. She looked at Diamondpaw, then at Oddpaw, assessing the injuries she decided who needed more attention first. "Oddpaw," she mewed "come lay over here" She signaled to a bed off most slightly off to the side of the den with a twitch of her tail. She looked over at Diamondpaw, "You should be fine, let me help Oddpaw first, her wounds are worse, you can lay over there" she pointed to the bed of moss beside Oddpaw's bed with her nose.

[Oddpaw]

Oddpaw nodded, and slowly almost crawled her way over to the nest, and pointed with her paw. "This one, Right..?" The blind apprentince meowed, and sniffed it, then heaved over on her stomach.[/color]

[Sunblaze]

Sunblaze looked over, "Yes that one." She ran into her herb store, after a minute of shuffling around for a good clump of moss she dipped it in the fresh puddle of water, then layed it on one of her big leafs. She searched around for a ball of rolled up cobwebs and then some Dock so make sure the apprentice didn't develop an infection. She placed the other two things on the leaf and then dragged them all out into the main den and settled down beside Oddpaw. "Okay, I've gotta chew up this dock and put it on your eyes and back. It might sting a little but don't move." The medicine cat said in her most reassuring voice. She started chewing the dock leaf into a soft pulp.

[Oddpaw]

"Oh..Alright." Oddpaw meowed, and she pricked her ears over to the medicine cat, the herbs have sort of sweet smell. "D-Do you think I'll be able to be a warrior..?" She meowed, and attempted to try to open her eyes, but it was no use.They were clawed shut.[/color]

[Sunblaze]

Her ears twitched as she heard the apprentices question. She couldn't promise anything, when things like this happened herbs didn't always help, she had seen other cats recover from it but every cat is different right? "I'll do what I can, Oddpaw. She responded, avoiding a direct response. She hooked the moss onto her claws and lightly as possible washed the blood off of Oddpaws eyes. There was some hope of her recovering, as long she didn't get her eyes damaged. She assessed the damaged after most of the blood was washed away. She put on the mushed up dock leafs to make sure it didn't get infected. After she was done that, she went to wash the blood off of the apprentices back and also applied dock leaf. "Don't move to much or the leafs will fall off" She put some cobweb over it to make sure it stayed on for a little while.

[Oddpaw]

"You can tell me Sunblaze.." The Blind apprentince smiled softly, and cringed a bit, then settled down. "I probably..Won't..Will I..?" Her voice popped up, after a very long silence, and just nodded. "I-I don't mind." A single tear fell down her face, then straightened back up.[/color]

[Sunblaze]

She looked at the apprentice with pity. "I have no idea honestly. I don't want to tell you something that could be wrong. There is no knowing what can happen, but I'll do all that I can, I promise you that." The old medicine cat gave the apprentice a quick affectionate like on the top of her head. She gave a look at Diamondpaw, making sure she was still okay. She quickly walked out and got Oddpaw and Diamondpaw a mouse each from the freshkill pile. "Here, eat up." She said to both of them, this emotional stuff wasn't her kind of thing.

[Oddpaw]

Oddpaw let out a soft purr, and wiped the tear from her face, and dipped her head. "Thank you Sunblaze." Then dug into the mouse, with hunger.The Blind apprentince looked at Sunblaze and meowed. "I Kinda like being Blind.." A large grin appered on her face. "So I can't see those Small, Ugly looking Fireclanners!" [/color]

[Sunblaze]

Sunblaze also let out a quick purr, which she rarely did. She liked when the apprentices actually thanked her for trying to help them, because most of them rarely did. "Its my job" Sunblaze meowed at Oddpaw. She wished she could tell the apprentice if she would be blind or not, but the wounds were to fresh and it was to early to tell.

[Oddpaw]

"It must be Nice..Helping cats.." Oddpaw nodded, and thought of something.A medicine cat as a friend..? She must be the luckiest apprentince in Rockclan. "I'm really glad I met you Sunblaze." Her purr rung through the medicine den.Oddpaw's gaze went back to Sunblaze, and let out a sigh. "I..Feel..As if Hazelkit got kidnapped because of me.." The Blind apprentince looked at Sunblaze then shook her head. "I was the only one capable of Attacking Darkstar at that time..And I failed."[/color]

[Sunblaze]

"Oh shush.." The medicine cat flicked Oddpaw's nose with her tail. "Darkstar is a leader, she knows what shes doing, and you are still an apprentice. Don't blame yourself or I'll have to get the kits from the nursery to trample all over you and you won't enjoy that I promise, they have sharp claws" Sunblaze hissed playfully. Sunblaze went up to Oddpaw and took off the mushed up dock leafs and applied new cobwebs. "Okay, you have to rest in my den for a few days, and no fooling around okay?" Sunblaze told the apprentice lightly.

[Oddpaw]

Oddpaw's smile returned to her muzzle and nodded. "Alright Sunblaze, I promise." The apprentince curled up, a full stomach, a new friend, and a happy mood. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all..As she began to fall alsleep, she looked at Sunblaze. "I truly, Thank you Sunblaze." And flashed one of her best smiles she could, then curled back up, and fell alsleep.[/color]

She gave another quick purr, she had not purred this much in a while but it felt great. "Get some sleep little one, I'll be here when you wake up." She gave the apprentice another affectionate look then trotted out to get a small piece of fresh kill for herself. She put some water in a deeply curved leaf and put it beside Oddpaws bed in case she woke up and got thirsty. Then Sunblaze herself settled down, not to sleep, but she layed there watching the injured cats.
