(it's ok I have been lazy with my posts too) Mosspaw nodded and scented the air, finally catching the scent of oak and bounding off in that direction.

Cavernpaw bounded after Mosspaw gleefully, excited to hunt in a new spot.

Mosspaw stopped running and pointed with a paw towards a large oak tree in the middle of several others "This is----" Mosspaw's nose twitched at a rotten scent and she followed it to a large hole in the center of the tree's roots. "Cavernpaw? Do you recognize this smell from anywhere? I don't recognize it".

Cavernpaw stood rigid with horror. He recognized that smell. "Mosspaw" he hissed " Get over here! That's a fox den!" At that moment, a red shape burst from the hole. Darting to Mosspaw, Cavernpaw pushed her away. "Run!" he yowled, then pelted after her

Mosspaw wailed and darted back to camp as fast as she could, the fox's breath right behind her.

Cavernpaw pelted toward the camp, then changed direction, realizing it would be bad if they led it to camp. "This way!" he called to Mosspaw

Mosspaw turned and spotted a briar patch "Through the holes the rabbits made! We might be able to fit through but I don't think the fox can come in after us!"

Darting to where Mosspaw gestured, Cavernpaw slid into a rabbit hole, just managing to squeeze through.

Mosspaw slid into the briar patch after Cavernpaw, trying to catch her breath as the fox tried to squeeze in after them. "I'm sorry for leading us to the fox den" whimpered Mosspaw "I had just woken up when I heard the warrior... Maybe it was Dawnmist... I think she could have said "great new place for a fox to make a nest and hunt" I didn't mean to eavesdrop and get us into this mess..." her ears drooped.

Mosspaw looked up nervously "You aren't mad?" she mewed "please don't tell anyone what I did... I want to be able to train and become a warrior and they might hold me back if they know". She paused for a moment and mewed "But if we're hunting... Let's try a new tactic! We can follow these rabbit trails and catch some... It might make up for the whole "new hunting place" thing right? And we can make sure the fox is gone While we hunt and..." Mosspaw paused "I'm talking too much... Sorry!"

Mosspaw's eyes lit up again as she mewed "Let's just hope our other prey we caught earlier was buried... I can't really remember, I was panicking to much a minute ago." she smelled the air and mewed "go through the right tunnel, I think there is a rabbit in there". Her fur flattened out again as she realized that it was just like earlier, Cavernpaw and her, hunting. But it wasn't really scary anymore.

Flattening himself, Cavernpaw scrambled into the hole and found an open space at the back. Adjusting to the darkness, Cavernpaw saw a rabbit cowering in a corner. Half pouncing half flailing, he landed on the rabbit and killed it. Backing out, he mewed to Mosspaw "You were right. Nicely scented!" he praised the pretty she-cat
