“I should've known!” He hissed under his breath, dragging his nest a far distance from Swanpaw's. No, the tall calico wasn't angry about her liking someone else. He was angry about the secrecy. Her leading him on like he was her little dog. No, he would not stand for that. No. He lied into the moss bed, shutting his eyes tight, wanting to fall asleep forever to. To escape this world.

Swanpaw knew that Hornetpaw would be upset, but this upset? She sighed an slunk into her nest. She looked around to see where Hornetpaw had put his nest after he moved it, which she knew that he would do, and she spotted him on the other side of the den. She decided that she didn't want to cause any more drama tonight. She closed her deep blue eyes and fell asleep. I wasn't right for him, and he wasnt right for me. He'll find the right she-cat one day. It just wasn't me, Swanpaw thought as she turned onto her side and went to bed, crying a little as she fell into a deep sleep.

Sleeping, he muttered under his dreams. “I trusted you .. I-I .. All you've done is hurt me. I ..” Hornetpaw tossed violently in his slumber, and finally woke up. A bit drowsy at first, his yellow eyes refocused on the black and white femme. Narrowing those looking-balls of his, he dashed off and into the camp, throwing himself at the ground. He couldn't stand this. Any of this.

Swanpaw yawned as she awoke, her blue eyes dark from sleep. She looked over, forgetting that Hornetpaw's nest was gone. He looked over at where his new nest was and gasped. He wasn't there! "Oh please let you not be doing something stupid," Swanpaw whispered, quickly padding out of the den after him.

He looked up from the rocky earth, his eyes bloodshot from crying and stress. With his gaze flashing up at the femme, Hornetpaw edged away from her, not wishing to see her. “G-go away.” He whimpered, his back facing towards her.

Swanpaw just stared at him, completely still. She was going to be calm and mature about this. "No," she told him plainly, blue eyes emotionless and plain. She continue to gaze at his weakened, stressed body in pity. She was feeling his pain all at once, and winced a little before looking over at him once more.

Hornetpaw turned his head, so half of his hurt face was visible. “Don't waste your breath, Swanpaw. I cannot forgive for what you've done. You went behind my back. You replaced me in so many ways, it's impossible to mend it back. I can't trust you anymore.” Tears cascaded down his cheeks, and he flashed around and yelled in a sad, distraught tone; “Do you know, how much, you're hurt me?”

Swanpaw still stared blankly at him. It was impossible to keep the pain she felt inside, but she was managing. "I love him and he loves me," she continued, "If you're going to act like a kit an be immature about it, fine. I have many other friends. Talk to me when you can get a grip." She started to turn around, biting her lip. Ters were starting their stream down her fce as she traveled back to the den, ready to go back to sleep.

‘She never did like me .. She never was my friend, was she?’ He thought, but then his eyes widened. That's when he figured it all out, all of pieces fell into line perfectly. “This whole time .. She was leading me on.” The tabby calico murmured under his breath. Finally, he understood everything. This whole time, Swanpaw had been toying with him. This whole time .. He was nothing. But he still liked her, he couldn't shake these feelings ..
Standing up weakly, he turned to face Swanpaw, watching he walk off. “Wait!” The tall tabby called, dashing after her.

Swanpaw literally fell into her nest, her chest heaving as she whimpered over and over again. She had lost a true friend today, ad nothing she did could patch it all up. CloudClan, did I do the right thing? de begged her ancestors in her mind as she closed her eyes and fell asleep once more.

Hornetpaw bit his lip, drawing a small drizzle of blood. ‘Oh Swanpaw ..’ The tabby thought mournfully, his bottom lip quivering. Oh god .. What had he done? Every time he got into an argument with her, the tables were turned on him. Making him the bad guy. But .. He couldn't let go of what they had. Swanpaw was a beautiful, smart cat. One of a kind. He could not loose her to some other tom. No. He couldn't.
Padding weakly into the Apprentice's Den, he slipped into Swanpaw's nest, and curled around her, holding back the last of his tears.

Swanpaw woke up a little to feel a body next to er. He assumed it was Frostpaw, but the smell was different. It was Hornetpaw! She assumed that he had come to be her friend again. She purred a little before going back to bed. She was glad to have him near, but knew that they could never be more than friends. Swanpaw and Frostpaw loved each other too much to give up on each other.

Alas, Hornetpaw tried to sleep. But he just couldn't. So, exhaling softly, he gave the pretty black and white apprentice a soft lick on the ear before shutting his eyes. He needed silence, pitch black. Maybe that way, he could actually dream for once in a while.
