Exhausted

[Prairiesong]

Prairiesong sighed and walked into her mate's den, she was tired and annoyed and the only cat that brought her joy anymore was her Hawky, she missed him so much and it made her want to cry. "Hawky," she meowed sadly, all she wanted to do was lay down beside her mate and sleep but she also wanted to talk to him.

The whole leader as a mate was exhausting because sometimes she didn't get to see him for but a couple minutes each day and it wasn't enough for her. If she could she would keep Hawkstar in his den all day so they could cuddle and talk, but she knew that couldn't happen.

Sometimes I wish he wasn't a leader, she thought to herself, she wasn't his mate because he was a leader or anything like that she was his mate because he made her very happy and she loved him more than anything in the world. She didn't think she could live without him, he was her everything. Sighing she walked over to him and laid down, she was to tired to stand, she had no energy.

[Hawktalon]

Hawkstar watched his mate enter and purred. His happiness changed to concern when he saw how exhausted she was. She collapsed down next to him in a huff cuddling against and closing her eyes obviously very tired. He grazed his tongue over her fur, cleaning her and trying to help her relax.

"Long day, Prairie?" he asked his mate. He loved her and was generally interested in how her day went. Especially if it was making her this tired. He missed her throughout the day and he only saw her at night when she came into his den to sleep. Sometimes she was too tired to talk and he hoped that this wasn't one of those nights. He enjoyed her company and wanted her awake.

[Prairiesong]

Prairie looked up at her mate with tired eyes, she was exhausted and annoyed but his licks made her relax. "Very..." she meowed half heartily. She blinked her eyes and smiled up at him, "How was your day, Hawky?" she asked him, with a yawn.

Wake up prairie your mate is trying to have a conversation with you she thought to herself, then rubbed her eyes with her paws. these apprentices are killing me she thought. Purring she licked his side, to lazy to reach over and lick his nose or ear.

[Hawktalon]

"My day was good, my thoughts were a bit troubling..." it's true that he had a lot on his mind with the impending war that was to come and the trip to Iceclan he had to make soon. At least there wasn't an apprentice problem anymore. A large part of the reason there was no problem was because of the she-cat he shared a nest with who had graciously accepted many apprentices.

"But, I'll be fine. How are your apprentices these days?"

[Prairiesong]

Prairiesong smiled softly at her mate, "Well as you know two of them had their warrior ceremony and I'm giving Hornetpaw his assessment soon." she meowed. "So that just leaves Cinderpaw." she purred. "More free time for us" she smiled. "I love you Hawk." she said softly.

[Hawktalon]

He purred at the thought of more time with Prairiesong "I like that. No more apprentices for you for a while." he decided out loud. She told him she loved him and Hawkstar smiled.

"I love you too," he said simply "I love you a lot."

[Prairiesong]

Prairiesong purred. "Finally I can have a break from apprentices!" she meowed excitedly. When he said he loved her, loved her alot, she purred and licked his ear.

"There is no way you love me more than I love you." she meowed with a smile.

[Hawktalon]

"I beg to differ." he disagreed playfully but he didn't pursue the topic further all of a sudden like her he felt exhausted and he was content with just snuggling up against her and hearing the sweet sound of her voice.

He laid down, beckoning her to join him and then spoke.

"Tell me about your day. I want to hear all about it."

[Prairiesong]

Prairiesong laid down next to her mate and snuggled against him.

"It was long and tiresome..." she admitted. "I feel like we can't ever see each other." she said, she had heard rumors that he was meeting other females and she was jealous. "Your always out ... I've heard you've been meeting other females.." she meowed with a blank expression

[Hawktalon]

Hawkstar looked wide eyed at her.

"No..." he replied "I haven't." he meowed to her "I saw my son yes but you know this already. I haven't been seeing anyone else but you." he replied with a purr as she settled down next to him and cuddled.

It was great having her with him when they saw so little of each other during the day.

[Prairiesong]

Prairiesong looked at him and laid her head on his back. "I miss you so much...." she meowed with a sad expression.

[Hawktalon]

Hawkstar was somewhat perturbed. He looked at the back of her head with a puzzled look on his face. Gently licking the back of her head he asked her "What female cats are you talking about?"

[Prairiesong]

Prairiesong buried her head in his fur and mumbled, "That queen from fireclan, and that she-cat from iceclan." She didn't bother to look up. "Don't bother denying it, dear." she meowed. "I can smell their scent on you." she complained.

[Hawktalon]

Hawkstar's tail twitched. He didn't know how she could possibly smell their scent on him. it was forever ago since he had seen Sparrowfur and Lilypool. Someone must have told her. Snitch.

"Prairie, Lilypool was escorting me to Iceclan. As for Sparrowfur we were discussing how to get the cats from Iceclan back."

[Prairiesong]

Prairiesong looked at her mate with an annoyed expression, "You used to be with Sparrowfur. You guys have kits together." she meowed, clearly jealous. "You have alot of kits, or so I've heard." she buried her head back into his back. "Even kits with the new queen from here." she meowed frustrated. "As for Lilypool, whatever." she meowed not caring about that she-cat, it wasn't she wasn't a problem.
