Flyingpaw dragged a tree branch into the nursery, weaving her way around her denmates' nests. (She was bored out of her mind, which was why she was doing this.) Then, the she cat began to dig a narrow hole in the dirt at the edge of her nest. When she was satisfied, she shoved the end of the branch in the ground and supported it by packing the dirt around it until it wound stand even if she pushed against it.
She had found the branch lying on the ground by a tree, which was rather surprising because the trees didn't really have too many branches to spare, and decided to do something about her boredom. The apprentice had liked it because it wouldn't take up too much space in the apprentices den, and it was curved and sturdy.

Nightpaw watched the apprentice and snook up behind her in a hunters crouch making sure not to make any niose and came up behind her and in a deep growl, as deep as she could get growled, "what are you doing!" but it sounded fake and she let out a small giggle waiting to see what flyingpaw would do.

Flyingpaw jumped at the sound of a voice behind her and her neck fur rose, but then she lowered it when she realized it was just Nightpaw.
"Being bored" the apprentice sighed. "I didn't have anything to do, so I decided to make a perch to sit on, or maybe even sleep on." after a pause, she added "I like sitting in trees." for an explanation.

Nightpaw loved the cover the forest gave her for hunting and attack, but she hated the trees, she hated climbing in them because she was horribal at climbing, she has the lean, easy to take to the trees body of a treeclan cat but she couldn't set her paws right. "I prefer it down her on the ground," Nightpaw sighed.

Flyingpaw shrugged. "Suit yourself." she mewed. It was the first time she met a Treeclanner who was bad[u/] at climbing a tree.
The young cat leapt onto the branch, the ceiling of the den brushing the fur on her head. She felt the familier feeling of bark bend under her weight, but the branch stayed standing. She settled down on her perch and looked at Nightpaw.
"I could teach you," she offered.

"Well you seem like an experienced climber," Nightpaw replied," I would love some climbing help and lessons, I'm in treeclan I need to know this stuff!" Nightpaw sighed sadly, she didn't know when she would be able to take lessons from Flyingpaw though, with Nettleflight training her and all.

"Okay, follow me." the younger cat mewed, and padded out of the den to the nearest tree with a branch. She sat down and waited patiently for her friend to join her. she had no idea how to teach tree climbing, as it was more natural for her now, it was like teaching someone how to walk.

Nightpaw bounded over, her paws kicking up dry dirt and ash, the tree was scorched and that might make it a bit harder to climb. "So where do we start?" Nightpaw asked, she had to admit she was scared and the tree looked like a gaint evil badger, but she pushed it away she was determined to become a good treeclan climber cat, (lol) and wouldnt let a little tree stop her.

Flyingpaw tried to find the right words to say. "Well, I'm not really sure how to teach you how to climb-" she started aquardly "but I guess I could do an example."
The apprentice sank her claws into the newly forming bark and made her way up until she reached a branch, which she slipped on to. Then she lept down the branches and landed lightly on the ground. She shook herself as if all she had was leap on a ball of moss.
"Well, you try and I'll see what I can do to help." she meowed.

Flyingpaw thought for a moment, trying to figure out what would help Nightpaw.
"You should start out slow. Make sure to get a good grip on the tree with your claws before you go any further. Take it one paw at a time." she instructed. It felt sort of strange to be teaching a cat senior to her.
The younger cat demonstrated again, this time positioning herself carefully and making sure to sink her claws in deep before moving another paw up. Sliding back down, she mewed "Now you try."

Nightpaw carefully placed her claws into the bark of the tree and dug in, she knew if she was frightened or being chased she could shoot up a tree like a hawk in flight. It was just getting down that was the problem.
Soon Nightpaw had made her way up to Flyingpaw and sat looking around the camp. They werent that high up and Nightpaw could eaisly jump down, now what?

Flyingpaw watched her friend approvingly, at least she had managed to get on the branch.
"Okay, now I'll show you how to get down when you're higher up." she said, and climbed to the highest branch that would support her weight. Then she hooked her claws in the bark again and loosened her grip a bit so she could slide down. "Maybe you should start at a lower branch than the one I was on. How about that one?" she jestured toward a branch halfway up. "That way if you fall, you probably won't get hurt."

Nightpaw nodded and said, "ok," then clung on to the tree and haulded herself up,"like this?"

Flyingpaw watched a bit nervously. The last time she was in a tree with another cat, Grovekit, he fell and was a bit soar afterwards. But she and Nightpaw were warriors, they could take care of themselves now.
"Yes, now slide down like I did, carefully though. Do it a little at a time."
