Convince me that your religion is true, convince me with the same word you would use to convince yourself. If you cannot find those words, then perhaps you are not as certain as you think.
Whatever you say to me, needs to be backed up by actual facts, sources, evidence whatever have you, I will not have any of the "you just gotta have faith' argument.
If you do use that argument, then I ask you to have faith that a Invisible Pink Unicorn watches over us all. Disprove my unicorn.
I'm serious about disproving my unicorn, I'm using it as an example of different perspectives. It's actually not sarcasm. (although it is admittedly a bit comedic.)
OH, AND ON ONE LAST NOTE. NO TELLING ME I AM GOING TO HELL. I SWEAR, I WILL PUT A WARNING ON YOUR ACCOUNT IF ANY OF YOU "CONDEMN" ME. (I will consider it harassment/bullying/whateverhaveyou) THIS WILL BE A CIVIL DEBATE
Begin.

Challenge accepted. >.> I'll disprove your unicorn.
Even if you got up on a podium right now and told the world about your unicorn, no one would believe you. No one would have the slightest inkling to follow your beliefs. So I ask you, now, why do seventy percent of Americans follow God's Word and follow His path? Because they have faith. They can feel His presence and hear His voice. I can't feel a pink unicorn anywhere.
There you go.

Oh, but I can! I can feel the invisible pink unicorn all the time! For it often nudges the worthy, telling them they are going to be okay. Haven't you ever felt like something brushed by you, or pressed against you, only to find nothing there? That the IPU.

... I have no say in this. Because I'm an atheist too. o3o
And you know, several of my family members have told me that for saying so, I'll spend my eternal life in Hell.
However, if you think about it, it doesn't even say hell in the original bible.
I was reading a novel at the request of my niece, I believe it was called Hush, Hush. And in the beginning, there was a small verse from the bible. Now, seeing that I wasn't reading a 'holy book', my sister took that book from me and claimed that the verse was wrong itself.
However, she had recently bought me a bible. Yeah, my family's all over trying to get me to convert my beliefs. And when she flipped to John, Luke, whateverthehellitwas, the exact same verse was right there.
"This bible is incorrect," she told me. -.- And then we looked through six more bibles. Same verse. The original bible didn't have the word hell anywhere, but apparently seven of the new testaments and whatnot did.
So therefore, the story changed. I mean, Jesus, (no pun intended) keep your story straight, at least, if you're going to hold an argument.

Paige, I know you very much dislike me, and i'm sorry I offended you a few days ago, but I don't think anyone can convince you if you just won't listen. The same goes for every one. You have your beliefs, and i'm a Christian, and I in no way agree with the disrespectful way atheists are treated. We each have our own beliefs. If you wanted to worship an Invisible Pink Unicorn, then that's fine. And it should be fine with everyone, if that's really what you want to believe in.

YOU'RE MISSING THE POINT. YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO DEBATE WITH ME, THE IDEA OF DEBATING IS THAT /WILL/ LISTEN. DON'T TREAT THIS LIKE AN ARGUMENT. D<

Snowflare, the entirety of your family is obviously quite incorrect. The Bible speaks true, and those who doubt it are not true followers of God and His Word. I pray for them.

But the original bible originally said Tartarus. The way the people have changed the bibles make it highly unlikely that I want to believe it.
And I'm not going to wake up on 'my day of rest' every morning at six o'clock to confess my sins. I mean, I know I've done wrong, but I've eventually made up for it.
I have nothing against religious views. Actually, I'm quite interested in studying it, but until a higher power gives me a miracle, I think I'm going to stick to something I can wrap my head around.
... I don't like things I can't wrap my head around.

But isn't it hard to keep your sins to yourself? God will always forgive you and give you a hand to hold in hard times. If God is too confusing for you, maybe one day you will see the truth. And when you do, it will all come together. <3
God bless you.

But see, this story takes place from so long ago, so we can't tell if it's true. It's just been passed down. Like gossip. Gossip changes stories. Because at the time everything was handed down orally.
And for all we know, someone could have just made it up thousands upon thousands of years ago. I don't know, I just.. I need proof. I can't see God. I've prayed a few times, and he's never answered. I've asked for miracles, nothing happened.
So I decided that I believe science. ;~;

I do not call myself an Atheist, I just say I don't know what I am. However, I do not believe in Jesus Christ as our savior. I think maybe he was a real man at some point that did great things, but I do not believe in the rest.
I think people like to have something to believe in, something they can depend on to keep them stable. I have a fear of death, because I am unaware of what will happen. Most Christians are not afraid of death; for they believe their life was forgiven of sins and because they sold their soul to God and such, they will go to Heaven. I admire the fact they can believe in such things.
I do not like Religion as I just left a school where I was put down and often made fun of for my beliefs. I respected their lifestyle, they did not respect mine. I believe Religion tears us apart, as many lives have been lost in the doing of wanting to believe. Yet, somewhat to this topic, If God and or Jesus Christ wants you to be kind, why not just simply pat that ' non-believer ' on the back and say ' I respect your decisions, but I would love to take you to my church one day, just so you know more about what I believe in. ' If people said that, you better believe i'd wake up bright and early Sunday morning to worship with you.
I guess my main point is, Christians have something to believe in that keeps them hopeful and strong. I just can't see a holy man standing at the top of the clouds, watching over each and everyone of us.
Fallacy; I know this wasn't a debate against you, but i've been waiting to see this topic to put some input on in. uwu

I am a Christian and I believe strongly that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life. And if you belive in science, science can prove that God and Jesus are real, and that the Bible is true. Here's one example: there's this thing called laminin, it holds your body together, and it is in the shape of the cross. Laminin is a protein molecule. It holds the cells in your body together. It's the glue of the human body. There are millions and millions of microscopic crosses holding you together right now. And Jesus Christ is the cross that holds us together with God, and holds God together with us. Look up Louie Giglio Laminin on youtube (go ahead and look up the short version) just listen to him talk. Or google laminin. Find a picture of it. We breathe God's name, every minute of every day. In Hebrew, it's Yahweh. Of course, in Hebrew, it is spelled out with four letters: Y-H-W-H Actually, they read from right to left, so it actually looks like this: HWHY But with the letters replaced with the Hebrew letters, it looks like this: יהוה י is Y. It is called Yodh. Today, it makes more of a "yud" sound then a "yodh" sound. ה is H. It is called He (actually pronounced like "hey"). ו is W. It is called Waw. Today, it would be more of a "Vaw" sound, but in biblical times, it was Waw. But this is what the pronounciation is like: Inhale (Yodh) Exhale (He) Inhale (Waw) Exhale (He) So, the moment we are born, the first word that we say, is God's name. And when we stop breathing, we die. And since breathing is the same as saying God's name, then we die, when we can no longer say God's name. Watch this video on youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZsOwqib3o4&feature=related. If you don't want to listen to the whole thing, skip to 3:06, but you really should consider listening to the whole thing. Just work on something while you're listening. I know it isn't the greatest quality video, but it has the message in it. Please listen to the whole thing. Here's a quote from the video: "When a baby is born, what's the first thing it must do, or this baby isn't going to make it? Does this baby have to take a breath, or say the name of God? And what's the last you do, and then you die? The last thing we do is we take our last breath, or is it that when we can no longer say the name of God, we die?"But these are just 2 examples of how God and Jesus Christ are real and that the Bible is true. And the Bible isn't like gossip; each book in the Bible was written by a different person, some by the same person, and they were all combined into one book, the Bible. The Bible isn't stories that were just passed down and changed over time. The Bible has remained the same, translated into English from the Hebrew it was originally written in. And not everything was handed down orally at the time, because the Bible spans a very long period of time. And God doesn't work that way; if you ask Him for a miracle, He may give you one, but in ways you may never expect. He cannot help you with every part of your life, but He will listen, and if you truly believe in Him, then He will answer your prayers, although it will probably not be in the way you expect. You may not even realize He has answered your prayers. I myself have never been put down for my religion, but that is probably because a lot of people at my school are Christian. But I think that when people are put down for being a Christian, does it really matter? If the person tells you that you're stupid for believing in God, or that they'll kill you if you don't renounce your Christianity, then why should you care? Because if you really believe in God, then you know that He loves you, and that if you die, then you're just going to go to heaven, to be with Him. I know I probably sound like I'm preaching right now, but this is what I believe and I hope that you can come to believe in God too. And yeah, I know I probably didn't really debate against you Fallacy, but like Littlewillow, I've been wanting to discuss this topic on a lot of different forums that I'm on.

I strongly support you being an Atheist. I, however, am Catholic. I can believe in whomever I please, and if you don't like it, don't talk to me about it. I can't convince you it's true, you just have to believe in it. Sounds cheesy and I know you don't like it, but I have strong faith in Jesus Christ. It's just who I am and nothing you can do or say to disprove this will change a thing. Really. I won't change. I can't do it.
