Spottedpaw heard that her friend Spruce became an apprentice. She walked into the apprentice den hopping to find the new apprentice. "Spruce are you in here?" she called out the question. She wished that he was out training already. "Spruce." she called again.

Today was moving day. For Sprucekit- no, Sprucepaw now. He gently put Spid on his shoulder and padded softly to his new den. He picked up some moss on the way to build his nest with. He ducked into the apprentices den, looking at his paws and thinking about his friends. Most were still kits. Except Spotted.
Spruce felt soft fur on his own, as well as a solid body. He looked up with his shining green eyes, and there was Spottedpaw. "Whoa! Sorry Spotted!" he helped quietly. He sniffed out her nest, and Kaye's the moss next to hers, spreading it out into the shape of his other moss nest. When he had finished, he set Spid down, then sat down, looking at Spotted.
"So um… right. Hi Spottedpaw!" he exclaimed awkwardly. He wrapped his tail around his black paws and shuffled them a little. The akward silence stretched on. Sprucepaw finally looked back up at Spottedpaw. He smiled and batted at her ears softly. "I can't wait to start training." he said, sitting down again. "How have you been?"

"Hi Spruce I've missed you. You where right about Flintclaw I didn't need him." she said. "Ive been ok. What about you." Spottedpaw asked him with a smile. She pawed at him playfully like they used to in the nursery. "You seem a little akward. Is it because of the den changing?" she asked him another question.

Sprucepaw smiled. "I've missed you to, Spotted." he said with a glimmer in his eyes. Sprucepaw had recently just found his liking for she-kitties. How pretty they were. One of the cats he liked, was Spotted. The only one right now. You could say he was a flirt. But still not as much a flirt as Flintclaw.
Sprucepaw nodded. "I knew it. I knew he wasn't a good cat." he hissed quietly. He lashed his tail a little. He had never liked that annoying Tom. Sprucepaw liked up as Spottedpaw batted at his ears. Spruce laughed. He reared back, placed his paws on top of her head, and swatted her ears lightly. He then jumped down and swwatted her side lightly.
Sprucepaw stopped just as he was going to bat at Spotted's legs. "Me? Oh yeah. That and its just that…" Sprucepaw shook his head, then looked back at Spottedpaw. "Oh, never mind." he finished, a grin spreading over his face. "Oh! Oh, I've been good. I missed you in the Nursery. The only down thing now is that I haven't strayed training." Sprucepaw shrugged. "So…" he said, looking around for something to do.

Sprucepaw gave one last bat to Spottedpaw's ears then sat down, panting. When she brought up what he hadn't finished earlier, he stopped, frozen. He could just say 'I love you Spittedpaw.' No that wasn't him. But Spotted wouldn't back down, he could tell by the tone of her voice.
"Well, now Spottedpaw. I- I- aherm- said nevermind." Sprucepaw laughed awkwardly. "I'll… be right back." he said quickly and raced out of the den. He stopped at the Fresh - kill pile and picked out two mice. He walked slowly back, pondering if he should tell his friend. No.
That's what Sprucepaw decided when he got back to the deb. Atleast, not yet. Sprucepaw dropped a small, furry brown mouse in front of Spottedpaw. He settled down to eat his own. "So…" he said, not knowing what to say. "Hey, want to go out of the territory? To explore?" he suggested, a grin spreading over his face.

Spottedpaw looked at him as he started laughing an accward laugh. "What's g..." she started but he ran out. Spottedpaw sighed as she laid down. She then saw him run back with two mice dangling from his mouth. "Thanks. What I was trying to say before you left was... What are you not telling me." she said with a sweet small laugh it ended as a pur.

Sprucepaw sighed, then looked Spottedpaw in the eye. "Spotted… I- I'm not ready to tell you." he whispered looking at his paws sadly. He didn't know when he could tell her. Of she liked him, she would tell him. Otherwise, love wasn't excactly his thing.
Sprucepaw leaned down and took a bite out of his mouse. "Spottepaw, look. I'm sorry, but I'm not ready to tell you. I don't know when, or if I'll ever be brave enough to tell you. I'm so sorry." he whispered, shaking his black head.
Sprucepaw smiled, trying to get happy, and hyper, like they both were before. It came out weak, but oh we'll, it'd do. "So… do you? Want to go into the territory?" he asked again, starting to stand up, as he shook out his dusty fur.

Spotted looked at him for a long while. "Um… Ok I guess." She mewed. The calico was a little disappointed but probably get over it soon. "I'm almost a warrior now." she mewed looking at him as she got up.
(I've missed you. It's been so boring.)

Sprucepaw nudged Spottedpaw, as she seemed a little disappointed. "Really?! Lucky. I haven't even started training. Maybe I should wait for you to be a warrior, so you can train me." he laughed, even though he was serious.
Sprucepaw trotted out of camp into the cool forest, enjoying the shade on his back. "Where do you wanna go?" Spruce asked.
