Dusty headbutted him gently in the shoulder with a purr, "I'll wait as long as you need. But could you give me a hint to satisfy my curiosity?" She asked, looking at him with round eyes.

"Well it has to do with, you." he smiled and shrugged, "Your going to have to wait, but maybe I'll give you another hint later, what shall we do now my little apprentice friend?" he was now towering over her, skin sticking to his stalky musles, soon he would have to leave her for the warrior's den. "Are you going to be sad when I leave the apprentices den?" he mewed, looking deeply into her deep blue eyes.

Dustypaw stood taller, coming to meet his towering height. She wasn't afraid, especially not of Cedarpaw. "No, you thought before that we'd be apprenticed seperately, but look at us. What makes you think I can't catch up? Tangleflower is here so training is beginning." She said smiling slyly. She remembered her ceremony, her first mentor had been Nighttail. But she had never even shown up to meet her. She'd met Tangleflower at least. THen Dustypaw remembered other things, "Even if you do leave I won't be sad. Not like we'll be segregated or something. But are you gonna have Oriolepride take my place?" She asked, the sly smile stil in place.

It felt like a thorn had just been driven into his heart, blood was gushing out and everything. Stepping back a step he mewed, "No one could ever replace you." And he turned and bounded up a tree and swiftly bounced from banch to branch. Did she say that because she was picking Pinepaw? Anger gripping him as he prepelled through the trees and he jumped down right before Iceclan territory, the cool breeze lowering his anger a bit. If Dustypaw did really leave him, maybe this is where he could go to get refuge, where his spirit could be free to roam the chilled range.

[He's so sensitive!]
Dustypaw only meant it as a joke, she had seen the tuxedo she-cat running around with her best friend and she never minded. In fact, she depended on her to help Cedarpaw get settled if they were given separate ceremonies. But she had hope that she'd finished training before then, apparently Cedar didn't... So when the calico tom pelted off into the woods again, she was prepared. She sprinted after him, "That's not what I meant!" She called exasperated. She clawed up the tree, the height making her dizzy but she shoved her fear away and ran after Cedar. "Cedarpaw! You know I'm only joking." When she finally caught up to him, she bounced onto the branch, her blue eyes wide with a strike of fear, but there were more important things going on. "No one can replace you either. I'm just saying that if you do go away, you'll have someone to watch your back when I'm not there. You have to start seeing the meaning behind it's literal definition." She said pushing her forehead on his shoulder. The branch still swayed, making her anxiety increase, but she didn't say anything.

(Haha) Cedarpaw shoved his claws into the bark and clung on with his powerful muscles, "You know what it would be like out there?" he purred, but with no humor just seriousness. "The wind blowing your fur, the cool breeze softening your skin." He long long to try it for himself. (In a rush)

"Cold?" She joked, wondering since when Cedar had changed attitudes. It had only been five minutes and he was already calm? Sheesh, and she thought she-cats were moody. "But I don't know honestly. Why don't you ask an Iceclan cat at the next gathering?" She suggested.

"I guess I could." he mewed, loooking over at Dusty. Somewhat pain glittering in the blue depths of his eyes, he hated his random mood changes, he hated it when Dustypaw had to chase him around because of it. He didn't want to put her through this, when she didn't know. "Dusty I.... love you." he said under his breath, stomach tight as a rock.

Dusty had faults, she knew. She was pushy, she sometimes let her temper get the better of her. Her words hurt those she loved and she hated it. Her blue eyes looked up, he looked so nervous, she just wanted to knock him down, not off the tree, but to comfort him and say everything would be okay. Seemed it wouldn't happen.... "Y-You love me?" She definitely was not expect such an exclamation. No, she was more or less expecting something more angry than a declaration of love. Her breath caught and she found she couldn't talk. Her pelt burned like a black cat in summer and her paws trembled as if it was leafbare. She did not know what to say, she was dumbfounded to say the least. "I don't know what to say....." she mumbled out. But she smiled faintly. Cedarpaw was her best friend in the entire world, she could not, and would not shoot him down like that. So she made him happy, "Guess that makes two of us?" She purred.

Cedarpaw heard uncertainty in her voice, which sparked a twinge of anger. Pinepaw had probably already gripped her heart in his paws and was slowly dragging her into his grasps and away from Cedarpaw. He flicked his tail and he swore his eye twitched once with the deep hatred of Pinepaw as he got up. "But I would want it to be true, and before I can say much more yo have to sort out what ever mouse bile you have going on with Pinepaw, or- or." He didn't know what else he'd do if she chose Pinepaw.

Her fur fluffed up, her pelt growing more agitated and her temper getting around. "How about no then?! Maybe I don't want either of you! Pinepaw is a friend, Cedar. I am your friend. If you like me more than that, that it totally alright! But I don't want to think about that now. You may be almost a warrior, but I'm not! I still have things to learn, and that's what I want. I'm not worried about some petty love triangle. Maybe in the future." She looked down, her voice had risen and she had meant what she said. She liked Cedar, whether it was that way or not, she didn't know. But she honestly didn't want to think about that right now, training was her main objective as of now. "I'm sorry if I hurt you Cedar, but think about others once in awhile." She said, her voice had softened. Dustypaw jumped down from the branch, her feet rejoicing as they found the ground again. She looked up, her blue eyes moistened, no, this wouldn't happen, not yet.

Cedarpaw let his fur lie flat and his tail droop, but he kept his ears straight up and gazed back off into Iceclan territory, nodding to Dusty that she could go. Something clenched his stomach and made him angry but sad at the same time. He felt regret and pain. His fur had cooled down but now he just stared (I think thats how it's spelled...) endlessly into the open plains and rivers of Iceclan, blue eyes blazing in the cool wind as his heart slowly melted. -End of Thread-
