It was a dark night of leaf-fall, the forest was frigid, and there was barely any moon. This paired with large trees scraping the sky with their now skeletal limbs which barely hung onto their leaves, the night was not very inviting. It had been a long time since the last bird chirp, since the world's colors had bleached themselves to shades of grey and black. That hushed area between dawn and dusk. Asylumpaw swore she must have been the only one in the world who was awake, her head tilted slightly towards the sky, watching the stars.
Her tail beat in a steady rhythm against the ground outside of the apprentice's den, blackening her white fur each time it tapped. Her nervous habits were in act, Cloudclan save the cat who may have disturbed her, for she was half-liable to claw out their eyes with surprise, but with the earth as quiet as it was being she was expecting none of the sort. Of course, in living with a large group of cats, one is never too sure about anything, and there did indeed come a noise from behind her that sent her head whipping around to face it.

[OHMYGOD DO I HAVE TO READ ALL OF THAT LOL] The large hollow had the scents of many cats. She could name a few off the top of her head; Pinepaw, Cedarpaw, Dustypaw, Lavenderpaw. However, there nests were empty. A few other pelts rose and feel as apprentices slept, although she didn't care to find out whom the drowsy pelts belonged to.
Otterpaw froze as a rather alerted apprentice she had not yet known whipped her head around to face her. "Sorry to disturb you; just coming in," she very briefly explained before seizing her nest in the den. Kneading the nest a bit to soften it up, she quietly plopped down and let out a long sigh.
