I practically dragged myself into the Den, injured paw screaming for rest. With a pained wince, I gingerly stepped into a vacant nest and reopened my eyes. Dark pool blue orbs flitted around and about, taking in my surroundings. The smell of different verbs were enough to give me nausea, but I fought to keep the dizziness away. “Brightflame? Waterheart? . . ” I called, trying to find the two Medicine Cats.

But my attention refused to stick to finding the two felines, and so I was now staring out of the Den, the sunlight taunting me with its rays. Just you wait, I grumbled mentally, glaring daggers of ice outside. If Thornfrost found out about this, I would be dead. But that was not my concern at the moment, for another cat had stepped inside.

[Brightrain]

Brightrain smiled warmly, "Hello young one." She purred softly. She had heard of this cat before, but had never met her. "How are ya?" Then, she remembered she diddnet introuduce herself. "Oh, sorry, i'm Brightrain." She smiled.

[Tigerblaze]

I flicked my flowing ringed tail, brown body shifting so that I could look at my visitor a bit more clearly. Her name makes a single click in the back of my head. I couldn’t out my paw on it, though. Guesses filled my mind, making my feline eyebrows to furrow and my unharmed paw to tap absently on the cold ground. Was she a sister? Possibly. Did I meet her once? Probably not. Did someone tell me about her? I don’t think so.

A frustrated growl cut through the air, obviously coming from me, the savage little she-demon that my Clanmates tell me that I am. “Brightrain? You seem familiar. Do you know someone by the name of Badgerclaw? Or possibly Thornfrost?” I asked rather impatiently, dark navy eyes locked with hers.

[Brightrain]

Brightrains apple green eyes meet with the other cats eyes while she smiled in delight. "Both!" She purred happily. "I've heard about you, and now i'm glad to see you." She mewed sweetly.

[Tigerblaze]

“Both? Then you must be a good friend of theirs.” I mewed in response, letting the edges of my lips just curl up only a little bit. But at the sound of her wanting to meet me, my face darkened and I looked away. “Nobody wants to visit a devil like me. They only hate me, and I bet they’re glad that I’m it of their way.” I mumbled sourly, voice and words filled with venom. “You shouldn’t have come here, Bright. The others would avoid you when they find out that you’ve been with a monster, a beast that has no heart.” I added darkly, navy eyes void of emotion.

[Brightrain]

Brightrain laughed a bit. She laid beside the small kitty. "Hu, a devil huh?" She asked. "Don't worry, i'm misunderstood too kid." She sighed. "Welcome to my world." She purred quietly.

[Thornfrost]

[oooh boy. You're dead now Sav. -Saucepan wack-]

Thornfrost practically threw himself into the den, a triumphant smirk coating his face. He had in fact been stalking Bright-train, because he was just that bored. What she was doing in the medicine den now, he had no idea. And then he spotted Tigerpaw, and his already fragile mental state slowly cracked like glass.

"TIIIIIIGERPAW!" He screamed, his voice a mixture of intense fury and fear. He barged past Train, fluffy tail whipping as he circled his apprentice, sniffing the tabby frantically as he quizzed her. What if she had amnesia or something!? Oh no.

Areyouok?Whathappened?Whatdayisit?Whydidn'tyoucometome?DoyourememberwhoIam? Yes, that was all one sentence in which he refused to take a breath. How many paws am I holding up!? He yowled, dangling one paw in front of her face.

Brightrain was knocked down by a very heavy patch of fur, Thornfrost. She flew to the edge of the den. She sighed. "Hello Thornfrost..." She chuckled weakily, still sitting on the ground.

[Tigerblaze]

I screeched in fright, forgetting that Brightrain was here. I stumbled back, accidentally putting half of my weight on my broken paw, causing me to scream louder in agony. My wide eyes stared at Thornfrost, not understanding a single word he said. My mind was too clouded in pain to comprehend his words. Once the ache was gone, I took a breathe and answered his question. “One paw. And I still know your name, Stripes. You know I’m too stubborn to get that kind of injury.” I mewed in a hoarse tone, wincing as the throbbing from my paw resurfaced and started to bother me again.

[Thornfrost]

[-Grins in triumph-]

He sighed heavily and backed up a step, seating himself on the ground. Gazing at her warily, he let his blue eyes travel over the form of his apprentice. He had visibly vinced at her scream and now he felt awful, since it had been his fault. Hanging his head, his furry tail stirred along the ground. I'm sorry little one, are you ok? Should I leave?

Brightrain walked over calmly, "Are you OK? Did Thornfrost's muscular body crush you?!" She said dramiticly, rubbing her face all over Tigerpaws head.

“N-No, don’t leave!” I blurted out, limping over and curling up at his paws, pressing my body against his. My navy blue eyes flitted to Brightrain, and if cats could blush, I would’ve done that by now. I let my gaze drop back to the tabby tom, who of course, was my adopted brother and mentor. Then realization hit me full in the face. I was hurt and I didn’t tell him. Great CloudClan I am in serious trouble.

“You’re not mad, are you?” I asked, my tone barely a squeak of fright.

[Brightrain]

Brightrain watched as Tigerpaw scrambled over to Thornfrost. She scoffed, ignored as always.

Thornfrost huffed in defeat and lowered his head to nuzzle his adopted sister, yes, he had claimed her as that. Badgerclaw was the illigitimate father, they hadn't told him yet. She was too adorable to stay mad at for long, so he merely shook his head in exasperation. No little one, I'm not mad. I just wish you'd take better care of yourself. He flicked an ear at Brightrain as he caught her words and rolled his eyes a little. Indeed, many rumours about his muscular body were circling around. Strange.

I sighed in relief. “I just fell off a tree, is all.” I mewed nonchalantly, watching Brightrain roll her eyes and look as if she was used to being ignored. Guilty, I stood up again, extra careful with my paw, and limped over, nuzzling the other tabby’s neck and giving her a friendly smile. Wait. Friendly smile? Well, that was definitely a first for acquaintances. I sat by her, curling my ringed brown tail around my paws, navy now suddenly brightened up. Company really did affect me.

“Can’t we go outside? Please?” I pleaded with the two, putting on a pout and innocently widening my eyes. Or as innocent as I can.
