I sat in my usual corner, picking at a magpie and thinking to myself. I had been out of it lately, down because of my constant muteness. It got really hard to try and communicate, and I wished someone would help me out. I sighed silently and looked at the half eaten fresh-kill. Not feeling all that hungry, i pushed it forward in case someone else wanted some extra food. I let myself fall back away into the deep pits of my mind, of wishful thinking. Wondering about my voice, if I could ever find it. Of self-induced isolation. [/center]

Scarletpaw noticed a smaller tom sitting by himself who looked to be deep in thought. She frowned realizing she had never noticed him before even though he was older than her. He also seemed... well there was really no word for it. Like as if he didn't belong or that he wasn't like every other cat in the nursery. "Hi my name's Scarletpaw, why are ya sitting apart from everyone else?" she mewed padding up to him, meeting new cats was one of things she enjoyed the most. Mainly because she never would know what they'd be like.

I blinked and lifted my gaze and looked at the she-cat, my attention returning to the world around me. Why was I apart from the others? I shrugged simply, without a word. Because I couldn't speak? Because nobody had bothered even trying to talk to me before her? Mute. That's all I am. Frankly, I'd rather wish I was blind instead. Because at least then I would be able to make friends, or communicate with my Clan. I would need help and guidance of course, but I can't be much of a team helper whilst mute. Sure it would help with hunting and sneaking around, but... What's the point of that when you can't stop to make friends? I looked at her with a sorrowful gaze, my eyes saying it all. ((BANANACEPTION. ))

I saw Scarlet, and crashed into her, smiling. "Hey cat, how you doing?" My usual greeting, warm and soft as I tapped my nose to hers. When I saw the other cat I smile welcomingly and equaly warm. "Hiya."

I reflexively stepped back and lowered my head for a moment. I blinked and looked up at the second she-cat, and nodded in my usual silent greeting. It already seems that these two are good friends, by the way she greeted her. Maybe someday I would find somebody that would want to get to know me like that. Well then again, it would be hard to get to know me. It would require a lot of patience, that's for sure.

I tilted my head, and my smile became soft and kinder. "My name is Cursedpaw, its nice to meet you." I gave a little nod and edged forward to bump my head softly on his head.

Fernpaw lay in her nest and watched them. She had zero friends without Copperkit and Echokit. She sighed quietly. She needed more friends so the tiny shy she-cat got up and padded slowly over to them. She sat down behind them. Um....hello, she meowed quietly shuffling her paws shyly.

I blinked and looked at the she-cat curiously after she lightly bumped me on the head with hers. I turned and noticed Fernpaw and returned her greeting with a small nod. I smiled a little and flicked the tip of my tail as if saying "You too" to Cursedpaw.

I smiled and bumped my head lightly to the other she-cats. "Hello, Im Cursedpaw, nice to meet you...?" I flicked my tail back to the tom in awknowlagement while I talked.

Fernpaw crouched low. Already all the cats were much taller then her. I'm Fernpaw, she meowed quietly tilting her head to the side. She could guess what was wrong with the cat Silentpaw...but she didn't want to be rude. Nice to meet you Cursedpaw, she meowed with a shy smile.

I nodded slowly and looked at them. Watched, as they talked, and left me to my thoughts. I wrapped my tail around my paws and sat there quietly, as I always did. It was times like this, really, that made me wish I were blind instead of mute. All I could really do is yes, no, and I don't know. I blinked, returning my attention to the world around me once more. It seemed that's the way the she-cat greeted most everyone...

Sorry if i'm acting rude. I-I just am really really shy, she meowed quietly shuffling her paws and blushing out of embarrassment. She only had met one other apprentice besides Silentpaw and Cursedpaw and that was Coralpaw.

I blinked and smiled at the she-cat apprentice, Fernpaw. I nodded slowly. It's alright, being shy doesn't mean one's rude... I'd know. Or at least I think I would... For all anyone knows, I could be ignoring them and they wouldn't even know my attention was elsewhere.

I smiled, kind and sweet, but my eyes were soothing and looked older then I really was. "Your not acting rude. Im new to the apprentice den to, so I guess its natural to feel scared. So how is training with you guys?" My voice was soft and light, and I played with Scarlet's ear absently.

Fernpaw nodded her head and smiled at Cursedpaw, but her eyes always trailed back to Silentpaw. She gave him a shy smile and looked at her paws. Tinywhisker barely trains me, she meowed quietly looking up again but at Silentpaw.
