The black she-cat walked into the medicine cat's den, her tail in pain. She thought maybe it had been kinked from the kits sleeping with her and on her tail.
"Forestbreak!" She mewed. She knew her best, so she always called for her.

Forestbreak smiled as she heard the familiar voice of her adopted mother. "Your head again, Sparrowfur, or something else?" she inquired. "If it's the latter, how's your head doing, in any case?" Grinning, the gray tabby flicked her tail and padded over to the queen.
Quickly assessing the Sparrowfur's appearance to make sure that nothing drastic was wrong, she nodded and edged a bit closer to her herb store, just so she'd have anything she needed on hand.

Sparrowfur purred a welcome to Forestbreak. "It's not my head this time. The pain has been smaller in the past few days actually." She mewed. Turning her tail toward the medicine cat, she mewed, "It's my tail. About half way down there is a sharp pain and I can't move it without it hurting. I think it might be kinked from kits laying on it."

"Ouch. My guess is it's just a sore muscle, but I'll check it out to be safe. I can put it in a brace if it really hurts, or give you a poppy seed, but otherwise, there's not much I can do." Forestbreak ganced up at the queen.
"Okay. I'm just going to make sure it's nothing wrong with your spine." She pressed her front paw onto Sparrowfur's lower back. "Does that hurt at all?"

Sparrowfur mewed, "A few poppy seeds would be nice." She then stoof still as the medicine cat pressed on her back. She felt nothing but the pressure of her daughter's paws on her back. "No pain there." She mewed. "Must all be in my tail."

"All right, good. I just needed to know if you had hurt your back or anything. Since your tail is connected to the bone that goes down your back, hurting your back might very well hurt your tail. And hurting your back can sometimes be quite serious." She shrugged.
"All right, I'll grab a poppy seed for you." The she-cat scooped up a seed in her paw and laid it out in front of Sparrowfur. "I'm only giving you one for now, but if it's still hurting, I'll give you another."
