Harrowingpride dragged Greenflare into the den, resting him in the closest nest. Apparently Nettleflight had attacked him, and Harrowing couldn't help but wonder if Greenflare had even gotten a hit on the other she-cat.
"Waspwing, Fernpelt, I brought you some fresh injuries!" She shouted, becoming impatient. She would only stay until one of the two Medicine Cats arrived, and then she would leave Greenflare with them.

Fernpelt walked in at the sound of Harrowingpride calling. Greenflare had a nasty injury on him and wasn't even in the condition to walk. Inspecting him with a close eye, she woefully recalled how low they were on herbs. Leaf-Bare wasn't kind to foliage. She did a quick mental runthrough of any herbs they had in stock that would prove helpful before she replied.
"Do you know how he was injured?" Fernpelt asked. It wouldn't make a terrible amount of difference to how she treated him, but there were some special circumstances.
(Is Greenflare going to actually show up to this thread? As in, does he know this is here for him?)

(I'll tell him on Xat about it)
Waspwing padded up behind Fernpelt, glancing around her to actually see what was wrong with Greenflare. He sighed and hobbled over to the herb store, waiting on Fernpelt to call back orders. Hopefully they would have enough of what they needed, if any.

Greenflare lay motionless on the ground for a few moments before stirring slightly. He only shifted some weight, causing him pain. So, instead, he went limp again, slowly trying to open his eyes to see where he was. ( sorry for the late reply. i just noticed this. )

Fernpelt inspected Greenflare's wounds. After a moment, she sighed. It was clear that the cuts weren't exactly clean, and she knew he could suffer from an infection. Fernpelt was fairly sure that they still had plenty of oak leaves for infection, but she'd be hard pressed to get any poppy seeds to dull the pain.
"Waspwing, can you look through there and tell me if you can find any oak leaves?" she called over her shoulder. Returning her attention to Greenflare, she frowned again. He didn't seem to even be able to stir properly. Hopefully he would recover well enough.

Waspwing nodded and pawed around at where they usually kept the once-plentiful herb. He quickly grabbed the reaming leaves and rushed over, placing them at Fernpelt's paws. Now that he could properly see Greenflare, he was beginning to panic. The tom was covered in cuts and bites, and he was obviously as weak as could be.
He glanced at Fernpelt, trying to find hope in the older Medicine Cat's eyes. "I..I don't know what to do.." He mumbled, looking back at Greenflare with worry. "He has so many wounds, and we only have a few oak leaves for infection...Do you..Think we should just let Cloudclan decide his fate?" He asked quietly, looking at Fernpelt yet again.
He felt weak himself. He had always, always, been able to heal cats without feeling pretty much anything. Occasionally he felt sympathy, but never this.
(Yay for random character drama ect.)

Fernpelt didn't blame Waspwing for being so worried; she herself was pretty concerned. It was the middle of Leaf-Bare and it wasn't the best time to be cut up. By his wounds it was obvious he was in a vicious fight. Fernpelt doubted whether he'd recover or not as well, but she had to do her best. She began chewing the poultice as she chose her words.
"We'll do our best with him. After all, he's a strong warrior and I'm sure he'll survive this," she said around a mouthful of herbs. As she applied the poultice, she found herself worrying more than she wanted to. Glancing back at Waspwing, she reminded herself to be encouraging. "Don't worry about him, CloudClan will be with us. Perhaps we'll be visited," she said again with as much sincerity as she could muster. Things looked bleak for Greenflare.
Trying to keep their minds off matters, Fernpelt abruptly asked, "Waspwing, can you check if we have any juniper berries? I know it's a long shot...but check, would you?" Greenflare needed some extra strength, she could tell.
(Haha, character drama is a nice way to break up the day to day healing. Also, love your location.)

Waspwing nodded and darted off for the herb store. Thankfully juniper berries were some of the things that he almost always had, and constantly found throughout the territory. Even though the amount was less than usual, he still had more juniper berries than almost anything else.
He quickly brought them back over, and gave them to the more experienced Meddie Cat. He didn't even know how to heal wounds so severe.
