"Um... Er... Can you tell me a story?" ~Icekit

Icekit sighed, wandering out of the nursery with a bored look. She wandered across the camp, slipping over to one of the elders. She sat down quietly, licking one paw clean before laying down fully.

"Um... Er.... I hate to disturb you, Mister Elder, sir... I was just kinda bored in the nursery, and I f-f-figured you might know a good story, and I have always wanted a bed time story, and besides Mom said the elders are wise, and they know all kinds of lore. Doesn't lore mean good 'venture stories?" The shy kit spoke up.

"S-so, I was wondering, if I helped you clean your den or somethin, if you would tell me a good story?" she asked quietly, eyes brimmin with curiousity. "Maybe, she could help him, hear the story, and have a cool dream about it. All the medicine cats had dreams, right?" she thought to herself.

Heatkit noticed a small gray figure enter the Elders Den. The she-cats green eyes shone with curiosity as she slowly followed intrigued by the mystery of who the kit was and what she was doing in the usually empty Elder Den.

Bouncing into the warriors den on delicate fluffy kit paws Heatkit hissed in a cheerful tone, "What are you doing in here?" While speaking Heatkit looked around for her sister, Burntkit. Their mother must've been bored when they were named because her sister was named Burntkit and she was named Heatkit. How cleaver.

Icekit turned quietly, eyes sparkling. "Oh, I was just... um..... seeing if the elders would tell me a story. Th-that's all," she mewed shyly, the equivalent of a human whisper. "Wh-what about you, Miss.... Um... I didn't quite catch your name..."

"That's Heatkit, my sister." Purred Burntkit as she bounded into the Elders Den with grace of a full grown warrior. Her bi-colored orbs glowed in the darkness of the musty den. "I'm Burntkit, who are you?" She asked with a happy smile upon her small pretty kit-like face. She studied the younger kit with observant eyes.

Icekit smiled softly. "Oh, I am Icekit. I am 'dopted.." she said sweetly. "You guys are really nice. Could you tell me a story please?" she pleaded with wide, ice blue eyes, like little chips of blue ice, in a field of gray snow, twinkling with a gentle, yet fierce light.

Burntkit smiled. "A story?" She asked with wide eyes. Hmm she didn't really know any stories. "I don't know any... Do you Heatkit?" She asked her sister in a high pitched squeaky voice.

Icekit glanced over at Heatkit, curiously. She remembered her very first story, and she smiled sadly. Now, however, was not the time to think of that. Closing her eyes, she blinked twice, then looked over in gentle curiosity.

"Ohhh I know one!" Burntkit suddenly squeaked her eyes brightening as she spoke. "I heard some warriors talking about it, there was a battle between DeathClan and RockClan about a moon ago."

"What clans are those?" Icekit asked, eyes widening in surprise. "I have never heard of any clans by those names..." Cocking her head, she looked up at Burntkit shyly. "Of course. I'm just a kit... I haven't heard of much...." she added quietly.

"Well DeathClan is a bunch of Rouges who want to be a clan and live in loner and rouge territory." Meowed Burntkit as she licked her one black paw and drew it over her one creamy brown ear. "And RockClan is the clans that live in a place with cliffs and boulders and pine trees." Burntkit's gaze drifted towards Icekit hoping the gray tabby would understand.

[Icekit]

Icekit nodded, listening curiously. She nodded swiftly, laying down by Burntkit's paws, and listening peacefully.

"Well apparently in the middle of the night DeathClan raided RockClans camp and they dystroyed everything. The herbs were smashed up and the prey taken and cats were fatally injured." Burntkit glanced at Heatkit with large orbs of forest green and silver like the sky on a stormy day.

Icekit listened, horrified by the tale. Tears streamed from her eyes, and she trembled softly. "Raiding.... Like what they did to my home. Th-that's why I-I was 'dopted," she explained, burying her face in her paws.

[Heatkit]

Heatkit looked at the two. "And if you didn't know RockClan are missing there leader, deputy, and Medicine Cats." She added with a growl. "Nobody was killed but they could've been." She added in a cold tone, she was the opposite of her little sister; Burntkit.

[Icekit]

Icekit nodded. "I-I have to go," she said sadly, rushing off to the nursery den. She quickly found a dark shady spot to hide in. She trembled gently, crying softly in the corner, and trying to force away the memory of her village's demolition.
