Hawkstar was pacing around his den. He had heard certain...whispers of late. Whispers about a certain cat who was quite the disdain of Rockclan. Hawkstar wanted some answers, but where to start? He decided on Obsidiansong, she seemed like she could be knowledgeable in the subject and if she wasn't...well there were others he could question.
He sent for her a long time ago so hopefully she would be entering his den soon. He stopped pacing and looked out at the windy and thunderous sky. It wasn't raining but the constant lightning and thunder made it clear that rain was coming. Hawkstar prayed to Cloudclan that a rock slide would not occur. That was the last thing his clan needed right now.

What a rude request, Obsidian thought as she finished ripping apart a bird, and began actually eating it. Her tail tip twitched with irritation as she finished her meal, and pulled herself to her paws. She was going to take her sweet time getting to Hawkstar's den, and the gray tom would just have to deal with it. Obsidian had spent her day hunting, and patrolling to feed and protect his foreign tail end, and she wasn't the least bit happy about it.
When Obsidian did finally get around to poking her head through the leader den entrance, she had worked her annoyance level beyond measure. How may I assist you, oh holy one? the onyx she-cat snarled, as she slithered into the den.
The feline did move in a rather serpentine manner, her body low to the ground, and her movements only rushed if absolutely necessary. Her tail had taken to a full swing, lashing about with utter irritation as she sat about a fox length in front of Hawkstar. Obsidian hunched her shoulders, and attempted to reign in her feelings, to sound as monotone as possible.

Hawkstar turned to the sleek black warrior. She smelled of fresh-kill. He hoped he had not interrupted her evening meal. If he had he was certainly apologetic but now wasn't the time.
"Good evening," he greeted "How are you?"
Hawkstar wasn't very familiar with this cat, he wasn't sure who whether or not she was part of the rumors he heard around Rockclan of late. He certainly hoped not, but still he had to be vigilant.

Obsidian lashed her tail once more, staring at her leader with angry green eyes. I'm fine, meowed the she-cat through clenched teeth. And yourself?

"Fine..." Hawkstar said puzzled "Are you alright. You seem a little...on edge." he stated with a sharp glare. She obviously wasn't happy to see him. Maybe he had interrupted her dinner. Oh well, she'd get over it.

Obsidian straightened herself out. She wrapped her tail around her paws, and sat straight up, blinking some amount of friendliness into her gaze. There wasn't any reason to be so hostile toward him. The situation was.. was it was, and there would be no changing it, especially not if that was left to her.
I'm fine. A little edgy, maybe. A lot of things have been going on in RockClan lately, the onyx she-cat said with only a slight hint of sharpness in her voice. She didn't appreciate Hawkstar's glare, although she found it in herself not to return it.
What did you want to see me about?

Hawkstar nodded, satisfied with the answer she gave.
"Well you already said it," Hawkstar stated, happy to make the easy transition "Many things have been happening in Rockclan lately, I've heard one or two things that I find disturbing. maybe you've heard some of these things youself, maybe you haven't. So all I'm asking if you are aware of these rumors, and if so, who i the subject of them."
Hawkstar swished his tail around his legs and sat down, done talking. He had his piece, now it was up to the she-cat to distribute some information.

Obsidian had to work to stop her eyes from betraying her shock. He'd heard? How? Where? From whom? A million questions ran through the she-cat's brain, although she knew if she asked them she'd be giving herself up completely.
So instead, she feigned confusion, her eyes dancing with Hawkstar's as she said There are a lot of rumors in this clan. To which are you referring? Her voice betrayed nothing, although her body did tense completely, and all movement was lost as she stared at Hawkstar.

Hawkstar smiled poiltely "I don't want to play games, Obsidiansong. Although, admittidly games are fun. I am serious right now. There is only one rumor I am concerned of in this clan that as we speak circulates around the mutinous, I want to know about these plans."
Hawkstar paused to lick his paw and wash his face, he felt rather dirty playing this game, but it was something he had to do after all for the good of the clan.
"If you require incentive, I can of course, supply." the Rockclan leader added.

Obsidian lost the tension in her muscles, and blinked multiple times, mauling over what Hawkstar had just said. Finally, the she-cat rolled her eyes. I honestly haven't a clue what you're talking about. The feline kept her voice calm, and collected, although this time it was a little more hostile.
She knew exactly what her leader was talking about, and although she'd rather not poke the bear, Obsidian had to admit that this was a fun game to play. The she-cat was ornery, she always had been. She was also ballsy, and often times too cocky. Knowing that of Obsidiansong, it should come to no surprise to any cat that she then arched her back in a stretch, and laid down on the floor of the leader's den as if she owned the place. She stretched her paws forward, and rested her head on them, fully expecting an angry response.

"Really? Because you had refereed to having heard a lot of rumors. I assumed you must have heard the one single thing that everyone is talking about. Rather strange that you don't know what I'm talking about. I could say you're just anti-social but really it just makes you look suspicious. You would only say you don't know what I'm talking about if you didn't want to talk to me about it. If you don't want to talk about it then I know longer need you."
As he said all this the she-cat had decided to roll around the ground and stretch out. He rolled her eyes at her childish antics. She was obviously part of this conspiracy, another one he now knew to be someone kept under surveillance.
"Get out." Hawkstar commanded

As Hawkstar rambled on about how suspicious her behavior made her, and so on and so forth, Obsidian batted around some loose moss from her leader's den. She rolled her eyes when she commanded her to leave, but the action was minimal compared to the feeling that followed.
The onyx she-cat jumped onto her feet, and when she was finished closing the distance between Hawkstar and herself, there was a mere mouse length between his maw and her own. You're too comfortable. It makes me sick, the she-cat snarled, her tail lashing every which way.
I don't know where you get the nerve to order me around like that. You might be older, you might be the leader, but the blood that runs through my veins is that of RockClan, and that means a lot more here than moons or rank. Obsidian's eyes might have well been on fire when she took two large steps backward, and sat down again, her tail around her paws. She looked less angry now, but in no way was she.
After a few moments, her voice had settled, and the onyx she-cat now spoke in a much more monotone fashion. Mutinous was the wrong word. For something to be mutinous, you must be defying an authority figure. That's not what you are, Hawkstar, Obsidian's green eyes flashed to his and were permanately glued there for a moment before she continued. You think you're high-ranked. You think you're in charge of this clan. You're not. In no way are you, nor will you ever be. Regardless. What, specifically, have you heard?
He said he wasn't playing a game. But his entire life was a game. And if this was the way he wanted to play it, Obsidian would go along. Screw the rule book, and burn the cards. This was anarchy.

Hawkstar glared at the she-cat in his den with furious intensity. Another disrespectful cat trying Hawkstar and his role at leader.
"If you didn't like me as your leader, fool. You should have said something when I first arrived when I asked for the entire clan's acceptance I gave the option to challenge the authority where we would use discussion and debate on my claim to leadership. As I recall you said nothing, a brand new warrior, yes, but you still said nothing.
I /AM/ Rockclan's leader. I have been for a year. At this point you just need to suck it up. You have prey. You're not dead. The clan is respected again because of our victory over Fireclan. yet, you and whoever else want to rebel because I wasn't born in Rockclan? Do you understand the how nonsensical that sounds? Do you realize how many cats in Rockclan are not clan born?" Hawkstar stopped, breathing hard, angry at the bigotry of this cat and those who he knew would rebel against him. He turned away from the she-cat and stared outside at the storm that raged. Much like how he felt. Filled with rage.
"It doesn't matter what I've heard. It's what I know that matters." At this he let his claws unseathe, his fur was already fluffed out from anger but now he was going into an attack mode.
"In the old days, leadership wasn't appointed or given or demanded. Leadership was given to the strongest, the best fighter. I am the biggest cat in he clans, know this is not boasting, this is just based off observation, of course their are some cats around my size but I also have something they don't have, /Skill/. I was trained by Squirrelpelt, a well known fighter, maybe the best. I have excellent training, combined with my size I have never lost a fight, and if I had I would be dead because being the biggest kid in the park puts a big bulls-eye on your back."
Hawkstar looked back out at the storm. He hoped it would stop soon, if there was a mudslide mixed in with all the nonsense that was ensueing he was gonna be even more pissed off then he was now.
"If you want a fight, bring it. But leave the cats actually loyal to Rockclan out of it. Fight me like a warrior and not a coward. Your bigotry should only pertain to me and me alone. If you can't do that then just leave. Now. Get out of my clan and go. I don't want you here and neither does anyone loyal to Rockclan. If you refuse to leave..."
Hawkstar turned arund to face Obsidiansong. His face stony and unforgiving "You'll wish you had."

Obsidiansong's pelt began to prickle with unease. She hadn't expected the tom to turn so vicious - he always appeared so much more composed, cordial. I guess we all appear to be things we're not.. the she-cat thought as Hawkstar dove into his speech. She sat, and listened, her tail twitching all the while as she grew more and more uncomfortable with his words. They made sense, and as arrogant as she was, Obsidiansong couldn't deny that the gray tom before her had an impressive amount of common sense.
You should have said something when I first arrived.. At this, Obsidian opened her mouth to protest, but it wasn't to be heard. Hawkstar continued on, and even if he hadn't, and she had spoken, the she-cat would've made a fool of herself. She had no words to argue his point, nor words to argue any of the other points he offered.
The tom turned around, staring at the brewing storm, and when he did Obsidian let her face contort with frustration. This meeting had gone completely awry. She was to come. To insult, to tease. To harass. And to leave, her tail held high. But that wasn't going to happen now. The onyx feline was, for all intensive purposes, ill at ease, and embarrassed. And so, when the moss ball she'd been playing will jumped into her view once more, she hooked it on her claw, and threw it against the den wall, standing up and her tail lashing again.
Finally, Hawkstar turned around to face her again, and Obsidian tried her best to regain her composure. She looked the tom dead in the eye. Get out of my clan and go.. if you refuse to leave, you'll wish you had. A growl rose in the back of Obsidian's throat. The discomfort and embarrassment she'd just felt was gone, and all that remained was drive and determination.
Your clan? Nothing about this clan is yours, Hawkstar! You weren't born here, and your leadership is a joke. It's pathetic, and I've outgrown it. Luckily for me, I'm not the only one. So, no. I will not leave. I'll never leave. You can exile me fifty times over, and I'll always come back. This is my clan, and I'm not leaving until I can say that without putting a sour taste in my mouth with the thought that you lead us! Obsidian yowled, her paws actually shaking with anger. So you bring it. Because there's nothing you can do or say that'll stop what's coming. It's going to happen, one way or another, and when it does you will be the one wishing you had stepped down.
