The young she-cat awoke with pep in her step, with a new outlook on her situation. The innocent..."kiss" that her and Brackenpaw had shared the other night was quick, and then she had left her best friend in the dust afterward. So today, she'd ask him how she had felt about it.....and she'd tell him a little bit how she ha felt about it.
After a couple days of training in a row, Hummingpaw was tired out. She sat by the prey pile with two mice at her paws, waiting for Brackenpaw. She had told him to meet her there and then join her for a walk. It was a beautiful morning....anything could happen. She had bright hopes for today. [/blockquote]

Brackenpaw nodded off to Shredthorn after a morning of training, there was one cat he was looking for who wanted to see him. Hummingpaw. Looking about he searched for the shecat, she sitting in dappled sunlight had two mice and he smiled. How nice. Stalking over he laid down next to her with sparkling amber eyes, "Hey Hum," He mewed deeply.

She lay her eyes on Brackenpaw as he padde up to her. Good, he came. "Hi, Bracken," she mewed with a smile, a smooth, calm smile. Hummingpaw pushed one of the mice towards his paws and said, "Here, eat. Then, we can go out into the territory again, if you want. That way, when I talk to you, it's a little more....private." Smiling slightly, she took a bite of her own mouse, both of which she caught for the two of them to eat.

"Sure," He mewed, taking the mouse and taking a ravenous bite with long ivory fangs. He finished the mouse in no time and his hunger slowly faded, "shall we go?" He purred with some amusement in his eyes. He hadn't really thought much of the 'kiss' since it had happened. He wasn't some shecat that was always living in the moment already lived.
(I'm always lazy)

Um, how about no. If he was going to feel like she was some nutty she-cat, then Hummingtree was wasting her time. "Come on," she mewed softly, not wanting to act like a "flirt" as one would call it. She didn't want to scare Brackenpaw away. In fact, she wanted to find out his answer not only to figure out how he felt about her, but also to find out if he really had turned into the one thing Hummingtree despised; a player. So, she wanted to know. How did he feel?
Once they were at her favorite spot, a rock by a small stream in the shade, she asked, "So...about the other night. I'm sorry about that....it was stupid to think you'd feel something from it..." Now, this was a test so he'd give up the information she was after, the proof she needed in order to know if she should stay away from him. [/blockquote]

"Last night when you licked my face," He laughed, flashing an ivory smile, "what about it?"
He sat down and curled his tail around his paws, even though she had become a warrior before him he still towered over her, his over growing size was more then he could even handle. Already taller then his own mentor he wondered If he would ever stop. Also his muscles a,ready bulged underneath his pelt making him look like a killing machine when he actually was very gentle.

So, her suspicions were proven. Grinning weakly, she laughed softly, and falsely, "Yeah...about that. Sorry. I shouldn't have. It was dumb. I'm dumb..." She didn't waver, she didn't move. She held his gaze with ridged green eyes, trying desperately not to show any emotions she might have whirling around within her at that moment as she spoke to the tom she thought to be her best friend. "It wasn't dumb," He mewed, tilting his head, "it was kind of cute, yet maybe just a tad bit gross, you did lick my face." His eyes were a bit more serious now, he didn't mean to hurt anyone. He was a big stupid Tom who most of the time couldn't tell another cat's feelings, weather they were good or bad. "It was interesting. Kind of made me think."

"Made you think, huh?" Hummingtree snorted, beginning to dodge his gaze by looking down at her paws with gleaming green eyes, "Think about what, might I ask?" It was gross....but cute. How could that make sense? She would shrug, but she didn't want to show him that she was trying to focus on it. No, no weakness would be shone while he was around Brackenpaw, the gentle giant. "You know, think. Don't you do that?" He purred, smirking once again. It made him think about Humming's feelings. Did she have feelings for him? Why would she have feelings for a... Flirt. "Like what you feel about me."
He didn't want anyone to get hurt throughout his flirtatious 'career', but he knew someone would be broken somewhere in the timeline of his life.

Her body went ridged. Trying to guard herself, she mewed a little too harshly, "I have no feelings for anyone in this clan. Everyone here is flirty and crazy. You, my friend, are just one of the only flirts I choose to tolerate and like. I don't feel anything romantic for you, and I guess I figured that out by my 'kiss' or whatever...." Taking a deep breath, the she-cat sighed an mewed a little softer now, "Look, in sorry for snapping at you. I just....I realize I don't...I don't know, okay? Forget it, I guess. Forget anything I just said..." Putting on a weak smile, she muttered, "Come on, we should get back."

Brackenpaw's eye twitched when she snapped, but something inside him was a bit amused. He didn't dare let it show and nodded, getting to his paws, prepared to follow Hummingtree out. He guess that ever since she had become a warrior they just weren't talking as much anymore. It saddened him, but stuff happens.

She hated that her childhood relationship had fallen apart and there was nothing she could do about it. Maybe, once he got into the warriors den, they could be close again. But right now...the outlook of their relationship wasn't looking so good.
As they returned to camp, Hummingtree muttered quietly, trying not to wake anyone up, "Goodnight, Brackenpaw. Sweet dreams." Then, without waiting for his reply, Hummingtree padded quickly and quietly away, realizing how dramatic she had been. It made her feel...awful. She needed time to cool down.

"Night," He mewed, not really caring who he woke up as he trotted off to the apprentice den that smelled of dirt and hormones, they really needed to changed the bedding.
