Brackenpaw was huge, literally towering over every cat he walked by. He would really need to move out of the apprentice den soon but even in the warriors den he would stick out like a sore thumb. His bulk was just too much for him to handle. Sadly there was no cure for his body issues as if it was a common cold or small scratch. This was something he had to live with like a missing leg or deafness like Spokenpaw or Silverpaw. Being deaf must have been even more frustrating though now that he thought about it.
Shrugging he stepped out of the apprentice den and into the sunlight where his amber eyes caught flame and blazed to their normal form. He sighed relief as he lumbered over to the shade of an oak tree, his mentor hadn't woken him up this morning, maybe he was just sleeping in. A yawn escaped his jaws as he laid down his head between his paws, perked ears enjoying the birdsong.

The heat was unbearable, at least to Mosspaw, who had a short but thick pelt. She groomed herself in a desperate attempt to keep cool, and found herself padding over to the shade of a tree.
I wouldn't be surprised if FireClan felt cold compared to this! the she-cat over exaggerated in a ticked off manner. Her crystalline blue eyes brightened considerably as she spotted one of her friends, Brackenpaw. "Hey, Bracken" the she-cat purred, tail flicking in greeting. Mosspaw padded over and settled down beside him. "How're things going?"

Broken from his daze sort of day dream thing he looked up to see his friend Mosspaw pad up. "Hey Moss," He purred, giving her a warm yet vibrant smile along with blazing amber eyes. "And you know, the normal, life's been slow I'm going to be a warrior soon and I will be leaving all my friends behind."
He looked at his paws then wiped the sadness off his face, he didn't want to leave it there long. "And you?" He asked her, looking up at her again.

Mosspaw shrugged lightly, pleasuring Bracken's company. "Same old training, really. Ferntail's teaching me how to hunt today" Moss purred, ear flicking. She gazed at the ground for a few moments, slightly disappointed that Brackenpaw would soon be leaving the den. Her brother, Redclaw had already moved up. Would she be the last to become a warrior?
"Are you excited?" the she-cat inquired. "I'll miss you when you leave."

"I'll miss you too," He purred, playfully batting her over the ears with sheathed claws. "Don't worry I'm sure you will move up soon."
He looked down at his paws then back up to Mosspaw, "Yeah life has been interesting lately."

"I hope so." Mosspaw purred, and tilted her head questioningly. "Really? What's been going on lately? I haven't seen you since we became apprenticed together." She gave her chest some licks, then glanced back at Bracken with bright blue eyes.

"Oh you know the normal shecat drama, I wish I was a warrior though before they started doing what they are doing now." He mewed, extending his claws and digging them into the dirt then pulling them back out. "Can't wait till I can actually get my warrior name."

Mosspaw suppressed a giggle. "Hopefully you'll escape from them when you move to the warrior den." she mewed humorously. She licked a furry paw and drew it casually over her ears in a slightly prissy manner. She hated dirt; it stuck uncomfortably to her thick pelt.
"Be sure to wait for me when you move up. I'll probably be the last of my generation to become a warrior" the she-cat sighed. Mosspaw hoped her mentor wouldn't neglect their training. So far so good.

"Wait for you how?" He purred as he asked, he didn't know exactly what she meant by wait for her. What fun was there to really have anyways? Besides going out of the camp without a warrior. There was more freedom but probably more responsibility. He thought being an apprentice was the best. You could do more then a kit but didn't have to do as much as a warrior. This was the life.

Silverpaw moved through the apprentices den, looking for a place to rest. She came across two cats that she recognized as Brackenpaw and Mosspaw. She padded over to them. 'Hi', she trie to mouth, and wave to her towards them.

Mosspaw looked confused. Why was this she-cat flapping her mouth about? "Hi" she purred with a flick of her tail. "I'm Mosspaw. This is Brackenpaw, but you probably know him."
