Ibiswing spotted Cloudbreeze running toward her. Exhausted, her fur standing on end, she felt tears in her eyes, but only from the shock of having nearly died. "Cloudbreeze," she whispered, nuzzling her Clanmate's side. "I was picked. The other tribute disappeared, or- or something." The tear ran down her cheek. "We're safe. We're going to be okay on this round." The she-cat smiled wearily, and then she heard the sickening crack of bone from behind her. She whirled around, and there was a young cat, apprentice-aged, with her back half somewhat crushed against the Thunderpath.
Her eyes widened, and she stood there, rigid. "She smells like TreeClan," was all she managed. There was no way this apprentice would live much longer. She was calling for a cat named Cherryleaf. Her Clanmate?
She stepped forward gingerly, to the edge of the road, touched her nose to the cat's fur, and whispered to the young cat, barely audible, "I'm so sorry. Live on in CloudClan, little one." She didn't know if the TreeClanner had heard her.

Cloudbreeze gave a sigh.
"Hard times. Well, at least we are together-"
She turned at the same time, almost letting out a horrified cry. The apprentice from TreeClan was dying in front of them. She glanced at Ibiswing before crawling over, touching her nose to the cat's fur. She was so young ... Why couldn't be herself?
"Live on. Be a warrior of the stars."
Biting her lip, she took a step back, looking back at Ibiswing. A small tear fell down her face.
"The cat ... she was so young."

Cherryleaf whipped around, then stumbled forward, flopping down in front of Tuftfeather, "No," she whispered, shaking her head, putting her head on the other feline's flank. "No. Tuftfeather, it wasn't supposed to happen. You and I.... we were supposed to work together. We were going to be a team. Maybe even become-" Cherryleaf broke off, lifting her head a bit, "best friends. We would've been best friends, wouldn't we? If none of this had happened, if we'd met before... if the sick cats in CloudClan hadn't decided this." Cherryleaf was far too shocked and numb to be angry at CloudClan. "Tuftfeather, don't leave!" Cherryleaf begged.
"I need you in order to win this! You're my Clanmate! I'm still an apprentice!" Cherryleaf screeched. She snapped her mouth shut. She always did have a tendency to talk far too much.

Tuftfeather gave a slight, weak, kitty-smile at the warriors who spoke. She didn't know them, but she was grateful for the gesture. One of them even touched their nose to her fur. She barely felt it. Her senses were numbing out.
A couch racked her body, sputtered hot blood out onto the pavement. Suddenly, a familiar cat was close to her. She could feel their heat pressing against her chilling body. "I know... we would have..." she gasped in a breath, trying to smile weakly again. "We are.... and I know... you can do this..." she choked out a small laugh. "It... doesn't hurt... that badly. Could you... tell my father... that it didn't hurt..." her eyes were watering, getting glassy.
"You've... you've got to go back to treeclan, cherry..." she coughed again, her breaths getting shallow. The less air she got, the less she was able to think.
"Was I-" she choked a bit, "was I a good warrior... was I.... brave? Is... is my father... proud...?" she was crying a little, her body shaking. a darkness was coming over her. A void.
"I'm.." choke "scared... I can't feel... an..y..." things were slowly melting away. Her sides heaved in a drowning effort to take one final breath...
but it was useless. Suddenly, everything dropped out from under her.
Tuftfeather was dead.

Willowbreeze watched as more cats pelted across the thunderpath. Thankfully none of them had been hit by a-
The silver she-cat gasped in horror and turned away from the bloody scene, her eyes squinted shut and her teeth clenched. CloudClan, what have you done?!
Cracking one eye open and watching the other TreeClanner crouch over her fallen clan-mate, sadness flooded through her. "She was so young, she didn't deserve to die.." she whispered.

(I know I should probably wait, but this moment kinda calls...)
"You were the best warrior. Better than any of these cats. Better than me. Your father better be proud, or I'll beat the pride into him." Cherryleaf whispered, although it was probably too late. She looked up at the sky, "you hear me, Tuftfeather?! You're the best!"
Looking around at the other cats after a few minutes, Cherryleaf hissed, "stay away from me. Don't look me. Don't go near my Clanmate." It was a moment of hostility that was really uncalled for, but Cherryleaf didn't want to be viewed as weak. "And don't you dare disagree with me. Tuftfeather was the best warrior, and if any of you have anything to say differently about that, then just let me know." Her voice was thick with malice, and her pupils were changing size rapidly.

Crimsonsky followed Falconwing through the remainder of the clearing. The Thunderpath was directly ahead now, and he watched Falconwing run across and nearly get smashed by one of the monsters. Was everyone across now? He was the last one. He prepared to sprint across when he saw the body of the other cats laying dead on the side of the Thunderpath. His eyes widened in shock. Well, there was the first cat dead. Only 6 more deaths to go. One of those most likely being his own. But for now, he and his ally were alive.
Crimsonsky waited until a monster had passed him, looked to see if any more were coming, and ran through. Last.
Where had the wolf gone? They must have lost it. Either that or it was right behind him. Hopefully it wouldn't cross the Thunderpath, or they were in serious trouble.
Upon joining the others, he inspected the body. Tuftfeather. He did not mourn, but simply looked away. Cherryleaf appeared to be freaking out. That was bad. Angry cats equaled strong cats. And that was the last thing he needed.

His stomach flipped over at the sight of the flattened cat. Vomiting would just be disrespectful, not only to Tuftfeather, but to Cherryleaf as well. Falconwing cleared his throat and took a small step forward, nodding at Crimsonsky, relieved that he had made it over.
"Did you see the wolf anywhere? Most importantly, are you alright?" Falconwing whispered to the red tom. He didn't want to get slashed by claws for caring for Crimsonsky, but what had happened to Tuftfeather shook him, making him realize that he should try and help his clanmate. He turned to the others, then looked at Cherryleaf.
"She was the greatest warrior that I have ever known. Take your time mourning. I know that we will all miss such a valuable cat, not only in friendship, but also her bravery. May she live long and prosper in Cloudclan," Falconwing hissed out their ancestor's place of value, gritting his teeth together in utter anger at them. What cruel felines they were, taking away life so precious.

(So sorry I'm late)
Crystalclaw was now standing facing the thunderpath. She was on the edge. Monster's zoomed past. Every single one could bring her death if she didn't play her cards right. She was most likely the last one to cross. That meant the wolf was right on her tail, there was no time to think. She ran across the black surface adrenaline rushed through her. Her back feet touched the grass just as another monster came by.
One cat apprentice aged, laid dead motionless on the thunderpath. Crystalclaw felt her stomach lurch. If she looked at the dead figure, her last meal would come out. She closed her eyes and took a couple deep breath's. She heard a couple cat's talking and she heard the name of the cat, Tuftfeather, a warrior. He/she looked too young to be a warrior. Oh well.
Crystalclaw resided to count the rest of the tributes. Seven left, one dead. She decided to take a look and review a her chances against them, Cherryleaf seemed equal. Crimsonsky was scary, she might not win against him. Falconwing looked pretty strong. The rest she would have to see later.

"I'm fine." He told Falconwing, still facing away from the group of cats. "I just..." He turned to Falconwing. "Come here. Away from the others. We need to talk."
He waited for Falconwing to follow him, and when they were far enough that the others couldn't hear him, he began. "I know we have our differences, but I think we can both agree we are allies as long as it is beneficial to both of us. Right?" He had a pleading in his eyes. He was scared, and he was trying not to show it. But he didn't believe that Tuftsomething getting hit was any accident. CloudClan must've made it happen. Were all of their deaths planned out? He needed an ally. Someone he could trust.
"Falconwing, how can this be CloudClan? These spirits don't belong there," He hissed. "They kill for fun. They're slaughtering us for amusement. Then again. Maybe that's why they're doing this. To get some cats who belong there." He shook his head. "That's why I'm so scared to die. I don't belong there, Falconwing, I've tried hard to make up for the bad things I've done. I hope it's enough."

Falconwing followed Crimsonsky, surprised by his offer of an alliance.
"Of course," Falconwing nodding, then tilted his head to the side, listening intently.
"Cloudclan...couldn't possibly be corrupt, could it? And Crimsonsky, you still tried as hard as you could. That's what matters. You tried your best to redeem yourself. Cloudclan would recognize that. Don't worry. Besides, I'll try my best to help you.," Falconwing mewed, dipping his head to Crimsonsky. The poor tom reminded him of his brother.
