Spokensong was relaxing and enjoying listening to the birds' soft songs whispering and playing rambunctiously. She sighed and smiled. 'I love being able to hear now,' she thought happily and thankfully. Spoken had never thought in her entire life she would be able to hear, but only a few days ago, she miraculously gained hearing. Her ear suddenly twitched. She whipped her head around to the sound of some leaves being rustled unnaturally. No wind was even blowing. "Who's there?" she called out bravely, not picking up any scent. Spoken couldn't tell who or what it was. She was standing now and was ready to face whatever decided to cross her path.

Spokensong sighed in relief. "Oh, it's you Sagefur. I couldn't tell whose scent it was." Spokensong smiled, wondering how Sagefur would react to hear Spoken's voice and know she could hear.

Sagefur was shocked. "Wh-when did you start....you know...hearing?", she asked, suprise still in her voice. She didn't want to sound rude to the younger she-cat or offend her in any way. "I thought you were....deaf.", she said, happy that she no longer had to mouth things to this cat. Maybe it would give them an opportunity to become better friends.

Spokensong smiled. "A few days ago," she said happily. "And it's awesome!" Spoken laughed, her voice and laughter like birdsong...Spokensong turned her attention back to Sagefur. "Well...how have you been lately? Anything new? I haven't seen you in so long!"

Sagefur smiled. "Well, I'm glad you're enjoying yourself.", she said with a small smile. She let out a small laugh in reply. ( Do cats laugh? XD) "I've been fine, mostly....", she said, wondering what to say. She decided to drop the mate problem....or at least for now.... Spokensong smiled. "Yeah...I guess so..." Spoken herself wasn't that old, but things were pretty boring around here, especially with not seeing Brackenstripe in a while. The thought saddened her some, but she put it away, thinking of her friend, Sagefur. "So...I take it that you're a senior warrior?"

Sagefur smiled. "Yeah.", she said with a smile. She had sort of...implied that. But with her new hearing and all, she probably wasn't yet that good at being social in conversations and what not. Then she turned her head as she heard a new voice. She recognized the cat as Leafpetal, who had seemed to have disappeared for a while. She smiled, happy to see her new friend again. "Hey Leafpetal, it's been a while, hasn't it?", she meowed.

Mossybelly tilted his head happily. "It is great. Then again, I've never heard for the first time aftee many years." It was a bad joke. But really, he couldn't take his eyes off of the she cat.

"Really? You used to be deaf, too?" Spokensong asked, looking into Mossy's eyes with wonder and feeling a bit, well, comforted. Spoken had only met one cat who was deaf like her, but the other cat couldn't even mouth words, so they couldn't really talk about it and comfort each other.
