With no acquaintances in the apprentice den to speak of, Quillpaw was seated alone, as he usually was. The solitude did not bother him, and this was both due to his aptitude for contemplative activities as well as his adaption at being so alone. His friends were warriors, and drawing farther away by the day. Moving on wasn't the right option, but perhaps moving ahead would do him some good.
Standing from his nest in the back corner, Quillpaw shifted his weight back and forth as he examined the dusty floor of the nursery. "There has to be room somewhere," he muttered in agitation. The first step to a new start was to move himself out of the corner, if he could find room to spare for his tall, thin frame.

"Hello. Are you a new apprentice?" asked Nightpaw. Night loved meeting new people.

Lifting his head, Quillpaw examined the new face with sharp curiosity. "I am not," he finally informed her, after a moment of deliberate silence.
Working his way around his nest, Quillpaw padded towards the she-cat, the tip of his tail twitching as he walked. "Does it matter?"

(Randomly joins the thread in the middle of a dramatic scene - BOOP) Darkpaw woke up to a vibration in the ground. Great. She thought. Next to Shadowpaw, and now next to a heavy-pawed cat? Getting to her paws, she glared at the cat. Hey look, it's Nightpaw. Darkpaw thought to herself as she felt her eyes sparkle and turn ice blue. "Can't a cat get any sleep around here?" She said angrily at the cat.

(What did you mean by, 'turn ice blue'?)
Quillpaw started as another individual made themselves known. Scuttling his paws out of the way, he retreated a few steps to the side in heat of her ire. Where was Black when he needed him? There was no way he'd sit back and settle for such rudeness from others. Quill though, well he had no choice.
"Well...I-I'm not sure. There are so many variables. Why are you asking me, anyway?"

| Stepping in for a moment. Darkpool, your character's eyes may not "turn ice blue". Mood eyes or any other sort of color-changing eyes are forbidden here on VWW. Please remember this in the future. Thanks. |

(Doop. Ok, I'll change it. You seem to know the rule book back to front, TRUE ADMIN ALERT! xD) Darkpaw rolled her eyes, feeling pretty grouchy for being woken up. "I'm asking you, because you were stomping, ok, lets say heavy-walking (is that a thing?) around the floor of the den while cats are trying to get to sleep." She said. "Who are you, anyway?"

Quillpaw cocked his head, left ear twitching in confused amusement. "But the weight of my walking doesn't answer the question. Can a cat get some sleep around here?, well yes, they can, we do it every night. Or are you referring to right now, because since nobody but you seems bothered by it, the results wouldn't be statistically significant."
The information might have been an overload, and Quillpaw's head lowered in regret. He tended to go overboard when he came into contact with others. Socializing wasn't a strong point of his.

Darkpaw raised an eyebrow (Cats don't have eyebrows. Oh well.) Darkpaw snorted softly as the younger apprentice gave out advanced information, then his head lowered in regret. "I'm saying, that you were waking up another cat because of the weight of your walking." Shaking her head at the stupidness of her accusation, she lay back down in her nest. But Darkpaw put her head up again, intending to ask another question. "So, what is your name?"

Quillpaw laughed, taking a seat once again. "I know what you were saying, it just amused me to think differently. I apologize, if you were offended." The mottled tabby slitted his eyes as he purred, half in laughter and half in relief. If he had truly annoyed the onyx she-cat, she would have left by now, so clearly he wasn't doing too badly.
"My name is Quillpaw. And you?"

Darkpaw dipped her head to the apprentice. "Mine is Darkpaw. We got off to a bad start..." Shaking her head quietly, but a hint of laughter in her deep blue eyes. "Oh well. Nothing we can do about that." Positioning herself in a more comfortable position, she flicked her ear as she thought of something to say. "Who's your mentor?" She asked, knowing that every apprentice said that if they had nothing else to say. (Short, sorry)

By this point Quillpaw had retreated back to his own nest in the corner. His plan to move out and be with everyone else had backfired, as he had yet to move it an inch. Well, nothing he could do about it. Shuffling his paws, the tom sighed before shaking it off. "I wouldn't call it an entirely bad start, I'm glad I didn't anger you entirely," Quillpaw amended, flagging his tail back and forth.
"It's nice to properly meet you Darkpaw. My mentor is Patchstorm, a childhood friend of mine."

Darkpaw dipped her head to Quillpaw. "Nice to meet you too, Quillpaw." She said, flicking an ear. "I've seen Patchstorm around camp before. Never met him." Licking a paw and pulling it over her ear, Darkpaw continued. "My mentor is Darkwing. He's a really good mentor." (I'M SORRY... ;D; It's so short. I'm eating chocolate, it's distracting me I blame chocolate)

- It's quite alright -
Quillpaw smiled fondly. "He's a grouch, but a good friend." He was determined to catch up to his friends in the warrior den. If that entailed being trained by one of them, then he could consider it an honor. "Darkwing, huh? I'm not familiar with that one, but if names are anything to go on, I'm sure he's great," the tom joked, slitting his eyes as he purred.

(Thank. You. So. Much.) Darkpaw's eyes glittered with amusement as Quillpaw talked about Darkwing. "Darkwing's legs were crumpled when a boulder smashed them." She shook her head sadly. "But he's quite alright, although he has a slight limp and can't hunt." Darkpaw flicked her tail around. "Although, it is sometimes boring, just standing around camp without any training."
