The skinny Siamese, Cody, lay down on a piece of hay, occasionally she would groom her extremely short, thin fur. Lonely, she lifted her cranium and parted her jaws to scent either prey, a future friend or an enemy. Her piercing blue optics searched around. I wish I had someone to play with, I wish I had friends... she thought to herself.

Stryke noticed a she-cat laying in a pile of hay, looking unentertained with her surroundings. Moving forward, he called out to the cat. "You look bored," he said, his tone friendly, his amber stare curious. He hadn't seen this cat around before.

She turned her cranium and looked at the tom, she smiled slightly after seeing someone had noticed her. She replied to him by saying: "I am pretty bored. I'm Cody by the way." She purred.

Sitting down, Stryke curled his tail over his paws, which disappeared under his thick fur. "Pleased to meet you, Cody. I'm Stryke," he replied politely, looking the she-cat over. She seemed to be a hunter, though he couldn't be entirely sure. "So, what position do you hold?" he asked, his tone conversational.

She removed her tail from her mitts and sat up, "I'm a hunter, what about you?" She tried her best to keep the conversation going even though she had little experience with talking to others.

Vermeil of the Spring strode into the farmhouse, looking fairly exhausted. He'd just spent several hours searching for some honeycomb, only to turn up empty-pawed. Hoping for some conversation to distract him from his disappointment, the tabby stepped over to Cody and Stryke.
"Greetings. I hope I'm not interrupting anything..."

The Siamese's piercing blue optics were then drawn to a cat whose name she was unsure of. She cleaned her paw pad then meowed to Vermeil: "Hello! Of course your not interrupting anything!" the stopped speaking for a few seconds then started once again, "I'm Cody, this is Stryke. What's your name?"

Before he could reply to the cat, carrying the scent of herbs, Cody introduced them both, and Stryke smiled a bit. This cat sure seemed energetic. He turned his amber gaze on the newcomer, waiting for his response.

Cody looked at both of the felines then cleaned her paw and turned round, searching quickly through the hay which she lay upon before Stryke's arrival, she then grabbed half a mouse from the nest and munched it happily before dropping it and turning back to the toms.

The two quickly focused on the American Bobtail, causing his stump of a tail to twitch nervously. He'd never been one to take the spotlight with ease. "Er, it's nice to meet both of you," he muttered after a moment. Taking a deep breath, he introduced himself. "I'm Vermeil of the Spring."
His stomach rumbled, reminding him that he hadn't eaten anything yet. With any luck, the hunters had been productive that day.

After hearing Vermeil's stomach rumble she flattened her ears barely noticeably, she knew she had forgot something. "I knew that's what I forgot..." she looked around.

The shaman tilted his head curiously when he heard Cody's words. "Forgot what?" Vermeil questioned. The hunter seemed to be feeling guilty about whatever it was.

Her optics traveled to one side as she said, "Uhh, well you know how hunters are supposed to hunt..." she swished her long banner, "I didn't exactly hunt today, or yesterday..."

| Stryke, are you still participating in this thread? |
Vermeil shrugged in Cody's direction. "Everyone needs a break now and then. I'm sure the other hunters have been picking up the slack without any trouble." He padded toward the prey storage area, hoping that he hadn't missed out on all the good mice.
