Sky(p)aw Training

[Skypaw]

Skypaw nods and marks the Fireclan side of the territory, looking to catch his mentor by surprise the moment he finishes he darts into full sprint following the Fireclan border scents figuring he will hit Rockclan's border if he followed the Fireclan border to it.

[Otterfuzz]

As a wave of air flew by him he jolted around in surprise, noticing that wind was from his apprentice. Not like that. He then bolted away to catch up to his apprentice.

Finally arriving at the border, Otterfuzz found Skypaw there and shook his head. "Now what were your intentions? You run away and get swooped up by a hawk?" He gave a small narrow of his eyes but meant it a little more playfully than seriously. Yet he still had the feeling of solemness deep within him.

[Skypaw]

Skypaw teased him back "Well I expected you to catch up and keep up with me " Skypaw was not worried he had looked up occasionally on the way although he admittingly was paying more attention to what was in front of him as well as the scent of the fireclan border so that he would not accidentally trespass into Treeclan or Rockclan territory.

He thought for a moment and asked "So what can you tell me about this clan Otterfuzz?"

[Otterfuzz]

The dark brown tom thought for a moment and drifted his amber gaze around the area to see if he could think of something that way. "I guess I can tell you the leader is Cloverstar and the deputy is Flamepath. Also gray pelts tend to blend in more so than brighter colors like orange. But cream and white pelt's might blend into lighter rocks... Still I do not think black pelts would blend in too well."

Otterfuzz thought for a moment more before saying, "They hunt rats, mice, and birds as well but certain birds that are predators can be very dangerous to be around. If you didn't know, hawks could be called a predator of cats. One of our clan's cats were harmed by a hawk before."

[Skypaw]

Skypaw nods "So keep a look out for cats blended in among the rocks" he made a mental note of that to remember in case he ever had to enter Rockclan territories.

Skypaw was rather amazed that they hunted birds, he figured the cats must have excelling jumping skills as well as reflex to be able to bring a bird down. He continued and asked "What happened and how badly hurt did that cat get?"

While Otterfuzz answered he moved to the border and started marking it while otterfuzz answered.

[Otterfuzz]

Otterfuzz looked at his apprentice and said, "A hawk attacked him and his companion while they were out in the territory. He wound up fighting it and I think he killed it. But it cost him his eye." The tom remembered looking at him the other day and felt bad. At least he was not a coward and protected his clan mate.

"If you're ready we can head back now to begin our hunting learning. Or if you want maybe we can start with battle training."

[Skypaw]

Skypaw gets excited "oh definitely hunting training, I can't wait to get a nice juicy mouse in my paws and eat it fresher than what I have gotten from the pile"

(apologies for delay, was at a Convention over the weekend and have been busy since)

[Otterfuzz]

(No problem)

"Okay, then follow me." Otterfuzz padded toward the training hollow and stood their looking at his apprentice. "Now have you heard of a hunters' crouch? Come on and try to show me your best hunters' crouch." He then waited for him to do so.

[Skypaw]

Skypaw follows "I have not sadly" he tries to crotch, he is obviously off balanced with too much weight on 1 side as well as putting too much forward, besides this he makes quite a bit of noise getting into the crouch.

[Otterfuzz]

Otterfuzz nodded. "Well okay just try and copy this position." He held his paws shoulder-width apart and stood close to the ground with his tail not touching the ground or raised high in the air. "Can you try this?"
