Breezepaw yawned as he entered the apprentice den. Days seemed so much longer now than compared to being a kit where it was just all fun and games. Blinking twice to get his eyes adjusted to the light, he padded over to his nest and sat down to give his fur a quick wash. One thing still hung in the back of his mind, though. Where is Palepaw's nest? She's probably around somewhere.... Oh well. I wondered if she's trained yet. He thought, roughly rasping his tongue over a paw. I think I like my mentor. I just need to listen better. After a few minutes he finally felt fully washed, and stood up on all fours and glanced around the den. Bodies, but he had no idea who they were. Maybe I can just see who's outside. Breezepaw thought, and peered out of the den. That only lasted a second. Right in front of him hung a huge, brown spider. He jumped back with a yelp. "That is terrifying." He whimpered. No one better have heard me. I'm acting like such a baby!

WE ARE THE RECKLESS we are the wild youth. chasing visions of our futures. and we're setting fire to our insides for fun, collecting pictures from the flood that wrecked our home. | P alepaw padded into the den, buzzing with an excitement that hadn't faded from her ceremony earlier. Spotting Breezepaw only made her happier, and she was about to call out to him when suddenly the tom yelped. Fearing she had done something wrong, Palepaw edged closer. Then she noticed the spider. Holding back her laughter, the small apprentice held up her paw and batted the spider, sending it to the ground and scuttling away in a frenzy. "It's ok now Breezpaw. Are you ok?" She asked with a small laugh. Her gaze flittered sideways towards her own nest, which she had hurriedly pushed together that morning. It wasn't great, and she had planned to neaten it up with some feathers that afternoon. Perhaps she'd even be able to get Breezepaw to help her, so she could spend some more time with him. Breezepaw puffed out his chest fur, trying to hide his embarrassment. "Haha. Yes I'm fine. Not scared at all." He nodded with a smirk, trying to spot where the spider when to. There was no way he was letting it go near his paws. Turning his attention back to the she-cat he followed her gaze to what seemed to be a poorly made nest. "Is that your nest? I'd love to help you get it to be more... Comfortable. Wouldn't want you sleeping cold and uncomfortable." He flicked an ear towards the moss, then wondered where in the camp there could be feathers. Probably near the prey heap. Those should be soft, right? Who knows, maybe that isn't even her nest.

"Really? Not even a little bit?" She asked lightly teasing her friend. She didn't particularly like spiders herself, so she could understand Breezepaw's discomfort. Turning her gaze again, Palepaw shifted in discomfort. "It's ahhh.......Yes, it is." She admitted with a sigh of embarrassment, knowing the nest itself was rather pitiful. She was usually much neater than that. "You'd love to? Thanks, Breezepaw!" The grey she-cat purred, happy for their evident friendship. Standing up, she gestured to the nest with her tail. "This is the first time I've made a nest by myself. What do I do?"Closed @breezemeow THANKS! |

"Yep! Not even a little bit!" Breezepaw exclaimed, giving up his search for the long lost ugly spider. Hopefully it didn't go in the direction of his nest. Turning back to Palepaw, he smiled. So it was her nest. "Hm. Well, maybe we could get some more moss for it? Oh and feathers! Those are soft and warm. This den should be pretty warm anyways, packed with cats... But still. Want me to go fetch you some feathers? Or-or do you want to get them? I can maybe organize it a bit more-" The eager tom rushed over and pawed at her nest, trying to make it look pretty.

| It's fine! Sorry this is so late
Palepaw laughed, dipping her head in acquiescence. "Alright, if you say so." Flattered and warmed by Breezepaw's show of friendship and his eagerness to help, Palepaw purred loudly. Shuffling closer she attempted to straighten up the moss a little more and pack down the stray parts. "I can neaten up the moss, if you wanted to get the feathers. We can get a bird off the fresh-kill pile and eat together," she suggested with a flick of her tail. "Would that be ok?"

"Oh-uh, yeah. Sorry for rushing to your nest; I should've asked you first." Breezepaw giggled, pawing one more piece of moss down before turning to Palepaw. "That'd be great! Um, I'll be right back!" He meowed, bounding out of the den and reaching the prey pile. He quickly scanned it, and the first feathered friend he had spotted was a pigeon. Hopefully she likes pigeon. Grasping it with a soft bite, he held his head up and made his way to the apprentice den, dropping it off as he weaved inside. Whoops. I probably should've asked before running off... He thought, lowering his head but prodding the bird closer to the pale-furred apprentice. "Is this okay? I thought maybe we could eat in here."
