A Long Time (O)

[Hawkpaw]

Hawkkit startled awake at the noise, eyes heavy with sleep. A groan escaped him as he burrowed further into his moss bed, purring appreciatively as the soft substance moulded at his pleasure. Just as the final dregs of sleep were ready to drag him away into his dreams, he was disturbed yet again. "Do you mind?" Hawkkit grumbled, sitting up and bringing a paw over his tired eyes. He was definitely not a morning kit.

[Mountainkit]

"Its before sunrise," answered mountainkit. "Can I be a warrior Longkit?!," she asked hoping that her sudden outburst hadn't woken up the whole nursery. She only wanted to be a warrior when she grew up not leader as weird as that sounded for a kit.

[Deleted]

"It's morning! Want to play Kit Clan with us?" he asked to the other kit. "I'm Longkit!"

[Hawkpaw]

His jaw gaped in a yawn so deep that shook his small form, his tongue flicking over his lips as he slowly but surely reached full waking point. At least the morning was warm. "Just cus' it's morning, doesn't mean you all have to get up and be so annoying!" he hissed, a rotten expression on his face. He surveyed Longkit briefly, his pride telling him to ignore the other kit in favor of annoyance. But, of course, curiosity got the best of him and he leaned forward, interest piqued. "Kit Clan? What's that?" he mewed.

[Owlpaw]

Owlkit sat up on his haunches and listened carefully from a distance. Hoping not to be discovered.

"Yea, Moutainkit! You can be a warrior.. can I be Longstar?" the kit asked with a smile. He tried to ignore any other kits who didn't want t play. "Well, Kit clan is a game were we are making our own clan, should we call it GrassClan? Uh.. LeafClan?"

Hawkkit stood, joints creaking and popping. Sleeping was a tough job. He listened carefully to Longkit's decision, tail snaking it's way around his form. "Leafclan sound's better." he said indignantly. Longstar didn't sound right at all to him. Hawkstar sounded a million times better. He stayed silent for a few moments, carefully forming a sentence in his head that wouldn't offended Longkit, but nothing particularly intelligent came to mind. "I think I should be leader, if we're playing," he began, eyes trained on Longkit, "Hawkstar sounds cool." he added.

"Names don't matter though.. It matters on leadership," he said, blinking at the older kit. But he did truly want to be leader, so he stood there, looking up at Hawkkit.

[Hawkpaw]

"Well...I'm older!" he replied, taking advantage of the height difference to look down upon the younger kit. Hawkkit smirked a little, thinking about Silverkit and how nice she was to other cats. Maybe he should try and be like her for once. "Hm," he began, circling around the smaller kit, "I suppose I could be deputy, just this once." he said, puffing out his chest smugly. "But lemme tell you, Longstar," he purred, putting emphasis on the 'star', "you make any mistakes, I'll be fightin' you for that rank!" he said playfully, cusping Longkit's ear with his tail, intent on a reaction from him.

[Mountainkit]

"So Longkit is leader, Hawkkit is deputy and I'm a warrior," stated Mountainkit. " Would anybody else like to play too?"

"Okay, I'll be a good leader, don't worry! What would your names be? Hawkkit, Moutainkit?" he asked, then his eyes lit up, remembering what he was forgetting. "We need a medicine cat!" he exclaimed.

Hawkkit giggled, flopping back in his rear end into a more comfortable position. The sky was getting lighter by the second. He contemplated Longkit's question, his nose scrunching as he jumped back and forth between names. "I don't know. I like the name Hawkeye, I think." he mumbled, glancing at the briefly for approval of his name. He always went back to Hawkeye, because he could always imagine his clanmates calling "Hawkeye!" at him like the best warrior he was destined to be.

    Longkit nodded, "Okay, deputy Hawkeye!' The small kit found a small mount in the dirt, and sat on it, smiling. "Uh..." he said quietly in thought, then pounced back, "All cats old enough to.. catch their own prey, gather beneath the um.. Great Hill for a Leafclan meeting!" He giggled a bit, waiting for the other kits to gather around him. He wondered how it felt like being a leader, but he thought it was fun.

[Mountainkit]

Mountainkit pranced over to the small mound of dirt. " I'm here Longstar, said Mountainkit quietly. I like the name Mountainbreeze." She wondered how it would be like to be a real warrior and have a real warrior name.

"Well we need a medicine cat! Does any kit- I mean warrior wish to become the medicine cat?" he asked with a purr.
