Frost.

[Owlpaw]

Owlkit pranced about, feeling the crunch of frozen earth, and grass beneath his paws. He had immensely enjoyed his first winter, but wondered of the other seasons. He leapt into a pile of drifting snow, with the wind whipping it calmly upwards. He dashed through the dense snowdrift, appearing on the other side. He rolled in the snow, not caring an inch about how cold it was.

[Naturepaw]

Naturekit blinked open her deep brown eyes. The first thing she saw was a kit that seemed to be prancing along in the ice and snow. Curious, she stumbled over to him, still not completely used to walking yet. "Hello," Naturekit greeted as she approached, a broad grin spread across her small face. "I'm Naturekit. Can I play with you?" She realized of course that this kit was a bit older than her, but she didn't care. All Naturekit wanted was a new friend.

[Owlpaw]

Owlkit turned on the young kit frantically, dashing snow in all directions. The sudden appearance of Naturekit had frightened him. "Oh." He said nervously. "Hello. I haven't seen you before?" Owlkit mewed with awe and surprise. He liked this kit, she seemed nice.

[Naturepaw]

Naturekit giggled when she got splashed with the cool snow. She gently shook it off and grinned at the kit. "No, I don't think we've met before..." Naturekit smiled at the kit. He seemed nice to her. Maybe he would make a good friend. "What's your name?" Naturekit asked curiously, sitting down in the soft, gleaming snow.

[Owlpaw]

"I'm owlkit!" Owlkit responded nervously, realizing he had never really spoken to a female kit before. "what's yours?" He asked stiffly.

[Naturepaw]

"Nice to meet you, Owlkit!" Naturekit responded. "But I've already told you my name; it's Naturekit, remember?" she said with a giggle. "Hey, do you wanna play a game?" Naturekit asked excitedly, feeling the need to jump around and let out her excitement.

[Owlpaw]

Owlkit blinked once. He had forgotten her name, and to top it off she was the one kit with more energy than himself. "Yes. I wanna play a game." Owlkit mewed attempting in vain to match Naturekits level of excitement. "what do you want to play?"

[Naturepaw]

Naturekit thought for a moment. "How about.....a race?" she asked with a mischievous look in her eyes. The best way to get out her energy would be to run, and Naturekit loved running. Whenever she ran, she felt like she could never stop...She felt as free as the wind.

[Owlpaw]

"Sure." Owlkit replied promptly. "To where?" Owlkit was not a born runner, but still enjoyed the prospect of it.

[Naturepaw]

"Hmm..." Naturekit took in her surroundings, deciding where this race should take place. "Let's say from here," (Naturekit drew a line here) "to over there." She gestured to a huge boulder near the edge of some bushes and a couple of trees. It was about 10 yards, not a very hard race. "Sound good?" she asked, making sure these standards were alright with Owlkit before starting.

[Owlpaw]

"Yeah." Owlkit said, jarring some loose energy he had stored away somewhere. "Lets go." He began to bound off towards the boulder. "Catch me if you can." He mewed jokingly across his shoulder.

[Naturepaw]

(sorry for being inactive!)

"Hey!" Naturekit called out. She grinned and bounded after him. She loved the feeling of adrenaline rush through her, the way her heart pounded as she tried to catch her breath. Before she knew it, she was coming upon the boulder with Owlkit and getting closer to him. Naturekit urged her legs to do more, and the quickly obeyed. She skidded to a halt in front of the boulder and beamed at Owlkit.

[Owlpaw]

Owlkit stared at her. He had never been much for running anyways. His nose twitched at a sudden scent filling his nose. "You win this time." He said, distracted. He couldn't put a paw on what the scent was.

    Longkit yawned, looking up at the other kits. He spotted two, then walked over kindly, "Hi there! I'm Longkit!" he greeted. The long tailed and legged kit tilted his head curiously, "What were you two doing? Were you racing? I think I'm good, could I join you?"

[Naturepaw]

"Don't worry! I bet you could beat me next time!" Naturekit replied with a smile. She noticed that Owlkit became a bit distracted. She wondered what it was. Suddenly, the smell hit her: another kit was near by. When she heard a voice, she whipped around and smiled. "Hi, Longkit! I'm Naturekit. I don't mind if you join! Up for another race, Owlkit?" Naturekit challenged.
