Rainpaw

Blazekit was outside playing around when the beautiful blue cloudy sky slowly got to gray color. The gray and ginger patched she-kit didn't care enough about it but did wonder why it was changing colors. Was the sky suppose to do that? She asked herself with a small frown. She continued her game though not wanting to slow the other kits down.

A huge loud roar came from the now dark gray sky. Making Blazekit kit jump up with a hiss and ran to the closest den thinking it was going to hurt her. She found the closest cat that was near her and hid behind him. It was a black tom who was way bigger than her. Her ears where pushed against her head as she let out another hiss as the sky roared again. Her now shaking body peered over the cat and at the den entrance, not giving anyone much notice.

Rainpaw was enjoying a nice sunny day to himself. He had expected it to be nice and quiet. As he gazed up into the sky he saw some storm clouds filling into the sky. He watched with a smile, for he loved storms. He waited for the first few drops of rain to hit his muzzle then backed into the den as the thunder made its way into the picture. He smiled and watched with curiosity as the thunder grew louder. Then out of the corner of his eye he saw a flash of fur and felt something behind him. He gave a look of amusement when he saw a kit hiding behind the toms back legs. Hey now. The thunder won't hurt you. Even if it could, I wouldn't let it touch you. He meowed softly and turned his body around to give a warm gaze to the little she kit.

Blazekit didn't answer at first she just gazed at the exit of the den and every once in awhile see water droplet fall. It confused her. Where was it coming from? She thought to herself. She lifted her big green eyes up to look at the cat. She was uncertain about his statement. What if it could hurt them and he just doesn't know it. Than again he was an apprentice and probably seen this before. She slowly nodded. "How do you make it stop?" She asked him jumping slightly at the thunder.

Rainpaw chuckled again and swished his tail back and forth on the den floor. He looked out of the entrance and decided to explain to the little she kit. Well you see. I can't stop it. No one can. It is almost like the sky is crying. Those drops of water are called rain. The loud sound it called Thunder. He meowed and watched as the den grew darker and grim as the clouds hovered over the camp. He waited for a few moments before continuing. And the flashes of light... Rainpaw waited. As lightning split the sky and light up the den he continued, That is called Lightning. He meowed and watched the kit to see her reaction.

Blazekit looked at him in shock. Why was the sky sad? She asked herself, she was still beyond confused. "Well I don't like the thunder or the lightening much." She said staying away from the exit of the den. Her gray and ginger she-kit looked outside with per hate.

He smiled softly and looked around the den. He seemed to be the only apprentice in there. And they were going to be stuck in the den for awhile. Well then little one. Might as well get comfortable. Come, you can stay in my nest. He meowed and flicked his tail over to a small nest in the corner of the den. He looked outside again before walking over to it and fluffing it up a little bit before tapping it with his paw. Well then. Come on. My name is Rainpaw, by the way. Who are you?

Blazekit didn't say anything nor did she follow him. She wasn't really listening to him, but she heard him the second time but still didn't move. When she seen lightening and heard thunder once again she ran quickly to him. "My name is Blazekit it's nice to meet you Rainpaw." She said with a small smile, as she sat next to him.

Rainpaw gave her an unusual look when she ignored him. Well, everyone is different. He thought with a small shrug and watched as the little kitten raced to him after another set of lightning and thunder. Well Blazekit, it is nice to meet you to. Who is your mother? He asked with a tilt of his head. Mines is Thunderflash.

Blazekit looked around the den she couldn't wait until she gets to be in here. "Leopardfire. I don't know who Thunderflash is." She told him. She never heard of her before, she thought. Than again she only knew kits and the current queens and her mother. She didn't know her father though but she didn't care about it, or even thought about it.

Rainpawʻs amber eyes gazed around the den and then landed back onto the kit. She seemed about ready to become a warrior, if not already to old to be a kit. He nodded his head and smiled. Well, you are almost there. You look to big to be called Blazekit. You should be Blazepaw by now. He said with a slight purr dumbing in his throat.

Blazekit nodded in an agreement. "I can't wait to become am apprentice than a warrior." She said purring softly looking at him, before laying down. She stretched her gray and ginger body before laying on her side.

(That sounds great. Sorry for my short post my brother thought it would be funny to tackle me and my head hit the wall. Now I have a huge bump on it and it hurts.)

He was almost a warrior himself. Well Blaze. I suggest thinking of warrior names before you become one. Your apprenticeship won't last very long. He meowed and fell deep into thought. Warrior names. What would mines be? Rainflash? No, defiantly not. Rainshadow. Yes, named after Shadowed. Pefect! He thought with excitement filling his eyes.

Blazekit nodded her head and started thinking. She didn't know one, she never thought about it before. "Ummm I don't know one, what do you want you warrior name to be." She asked him.

Rainpaw kneaded the ground with his front paws and looked down. I want mines to be Rainshadow. I could help you with yours if you want. He meowed and fell back into thought. Blaze hmm... There is Blazethorn, Blazefern, Blazepetal, Blazeleaf. There are a lot actually.

She closed her eyes and thought harder. "Oh I like that Rainshadow." She said with a smile. Why would he chose that than again why would others use their names, some from their look or personality. So she didn't know. "Oh no it's ok my friends Spiderkit, Turtlekit, Beekit, or Mothkit can help me." She said as she thought about her friends. They where probably in the nursery talking with each other.
