i've never known a man who loved me | Snowfall
Berrykit yawned, pawing at the rim of her nest as a cold blast of air hit her shivering body like a wall. She let out a sneeze and a couple of coughs, huddling down into her nest to deflect the cold. It didn't work, of course. Just having recently opened her eyes, the small, sickly female had been quite keen on using them. She navigated around her sleeping mother to find her favorite fluffy sibling - Snowkit. She had recently learned that they were her siblings and that he was her brother, and he looked pretty warm to her. "Hey," she murmured, poking his side with a paw. "Are you awake?" |

I mumbled in my sleep, words slight and barely audible. I felt a small source of warmth appear and it was growing closer. I peeked open a pale yellow eye to see my sickly sister. My brain shot to life and I skittered backwards. "Y-yes! Just please don't sneeze on me." I turned my head away to let out a barrage of coughs. "Nothing personal, I just hate germs, okay?" | i've never known a man who loved me | Berrykit frowned as her brother scrambled away from her. After a moment she giggled. "Okay!" She grinned, tilting her head, but her words were cut off by more coughs. Shivering racked her body as she took a seat in the nest, her teeth chattering. Why is it so cold all the time? Ugh. "But doesn't coughing make germs? And your coughing," she pointed out.
"Your afraid of germs?" She asked , flicking her thin tail. She got to her small paws, puffing out her chest. "I'll protect you from those mean germs! They won't get past me!" She announced, heading back towards him. "I-I'm cold. Your warm." |

I frowned at the sickness that radiated off of my older sister. I cursed the maternal instincts that I shouldn't have. I looked to the side, trying to avoid contact. "Yeah, but I'm not breathing in those germs. I'm safe then," I muttered as if it was true. I looked over, fictional brows raised. "You can't protect me if you freeze to death so, come here." I motioned towards myself, acknowledging the fact that my pile of fluff that I called fur would probably be useful to the female kitten. "Just don't get your sick germs on me." LAIKA OF GS! |

| i've never known a man who loved me | Berrykit laughed. "But your breathing the air right after you cough, so you still get germs," she moved towards him gratefully, cuddling into his warm fur. "Okay! I'll make sure to not sneeze on you." She promised. After a moment she sneezed, leaving the warmth of his body for a minute.
"So, have you met dad?" She asked her brother, nuzzling into his warm chest fur. "Apparently he has another kit. I bet he spends all his time with her," she thought in spite. "He's probably a bad warrior anyways. We don't need him. We have each other, right?" |
