Once Willowkit announced that they could open their eyes, Sagekit ran for the beds of moss, and spotted four small mossballs tucked under a particularly thick spot on the moss. Well-hidden, Willowkit, but not well enough to stay hidden from me; Sagekit thought, gathering the four mossballs and dropping them to the place she was standing on a while ago. She checked the other two kit's progress. Silverkit was fast, and already had a pile of them. Her pile's that big already, I wonder where she grabbed all those mossballs; Sagekit thought.
The dark grey kit trotted around the nursery, examining all the cracks on the cavern wall. She pulled out mossball after mossball and watched her pile grow bigger. Then, checking to see if her mother, Lightfall, wasn't watching, Sagekit ran out of the nursery and stood in front of the puddle. It was brown and ucky today. On good days, it would be crystal clear and probably good enough to drink. Sagekit tentatively put a white paw in, feeling for a mossball. Her paw brushed on something and Sagekit nudged it out of the puddle. It was a mossball, alright.
Now how could I pick it up now? I don't think I would want to taste it; Sagekit thought. Then, getting an idea, Sagekit lowered her grey head and started pushing it towards the nursery. It was a short walk, just a few pawsteps. Then, nudging it into the pile, Sagekit stood back, counting the mossballs. Seven small ones, two medium sized ones and five big ones. Total is fourteen. Hmmm... I wonder how many mossballs Silverkit has...
