Drought was strolling through the pine forest that morning. The weather was rather interesting - the sun was still rising, but it was foggy. This caused the light to diffuse through the mist and bathe the entire territory in a faint orange glow. Having never seen anything quite like it, the patched cat was enjoying the effect.
He noticed the silhouette of a cat ahead, and twitched his ears curiously. A fellow DeathClanner- or an unwelcome visitor? The leader quickly moved to intercept the unknown feline. He'd find out soon enough.

Hak was walking around, his tail flicking behind him in rhythm with his pace. He really wasn't up to anything, which was boring on his part and probably good to the others. The black tom had just caught a whiff of bird when he heard paw steps reaching him. The young cat turned his head, seeing the DeathClan leader, Drought. It wasn't everyday when the black and white tom came to see someone. He didn't look like he was trying to find him on purpose.
"Hello, oh mighty one." he meowed.

It took a few moments for Drought to get close enough to see who it was. He… didn't exactly recognize this young tom, but his scent appeared to be that of DeathClan. Vaguely. Probably another newcomer… and judging by his words, one who hadn't yet learned how things worked here.
His amber eyes narrowed slightly before he spoke. "Fresh meat, huh? Who might you be?" The leader figured he wouldn't have heard the name before… but hey, might as well ask for it anyway.

Hak resisted the urge to laugh as Drought narrowed his eyes. The tom shrugged. "Hak, your lordliness. I know who you are. Everyone knows who you are." The black tom paused before he spoke again. "You don't happen to know where the best hunting spots are, do you?" Surely he knows his territory.

Well, Hak was walking on thin ice here. Snark was generally not tolerated by the DeathClan leader - especially not by some peasant who'd barely graduated from his moons of being called a kitten. The tip of Drought's tail twitched once in warning. It's been too long since I've held a public beating…
The black cat's name was odd, but definitely not one of the strangest he'd heard around here. "Of course I do - but those are for you to find. The first thing you'll need to learn about DeathClan is that we value individualism. If you can't work things out for yourself, nobody is required to assist you." He was quite the believer in natural selection; the weak and elderly had no place here.

survival. Hak shrugged at Drought's reply. He could easily find prey, so it wasn't like he needed the cat's help anyway. He just wanted to find where the birds were. The black cat was definitely not a weak cat. He had made sure of that a long time ago.
"It's not like I need help anyway. But, thanks." The younger cat could already feel tension rising between him and the leader. He probably didn't make the smartest of moves, but it was so like him to give names to others, specifically the higher ups.

Drought raised a feline eyebrow at this. Someone clearly thought they were hot stuff. Well… if he saw a bunch of vultures circling within the next moon, at least he'd know who had died.
Though the scarred tom didn't usually inquire as to where new younglings had come from, he decided to make an exception this time. "I don't suppose you've come from loner territory? Perhaps you've seen the Tribe if so… I haven't had news from them for a while."

survival. Hak looked up with a small look of surprise. Why would he care about the tribe? He shrugged. "Last I heard, the tribe is basically dead. No one has seen a cat there for moons, so I hear. I thought about joining them until I heard about that." He shook his head. "What a shame. They seemed interesting too."

It seemed like Hak had, indeed, been somewhat near the Tribe. Drought frowned at this news. "Even Ragabash is gone?" he questioned. "I wonder where in Darkpool they could've headed off to. That's not good either way." Having had a somewhat… personal… relationship with the Tribe's leader, the fact that he'd simply vanished was quite a shock. This was a blow to all of DeathClan as well; the Farmland Tribe had been allied with the band of rogues.

survival. Hak tilted his head in thought. He closed his eyes, shaking his head. "Last I heard of Ragabash was a long time ago. I don't know if he's there or not." The black cat shrugged.

If he hadn't firmly believed that Ragabash was perfectly capable of looking out for himself, Drought would've probably made plans to search for the peculiar tabby tom. He had to resist the urge as it was. What if something's happened to drive them out? Darkpool have mercy on any group of cats who may have dared to do that; I'll skin them alive.
"How unusual. Were they attacked, or infected by some sort of disease? It doesn't make sense that they would scatter for no reason," he meowed with a slight edge of concern to his tone.

survival. Hak shook his head at the leader. "I honestly don't know. I heard that they weren't there, at least, not from what anyone else has seen."

Lumine was a very, very shy cat. She was often picked on by others, but wanted to meet some knew people. Reluctantly, she padded over to two cats who seemed to be talking. She just sat there, hoping one of them noticed her.

Drought furrowed his brow. Maybe he'd have to go out to the old farmhouse and look for himself - if the Tribe had been chased out, there'd probably be evidence of a struggle. Not knowing what had happened was going to bother him.
Before the patched cat could actually respond, another peasant walked up without a word. He huffed slightly and addressed Lumine. "Rat's got your tongue? You got a name or what?"

"Y-yes sir.?" Lumine replied. "I-it's Lumine sir." She tryed to keep the nervousness out other voice and sound as respectful as possible. She was still pretty nervous, but she had a feeling the leader wouldn't be openly mean to her, at least.
