I slowly flickered my eyes open, taking in the world for the very first time. It was very bright in this mysterious place, and I couldn't wait to explore and learn new things! However, I wasn't quite sure I could get my legs to move yet, or my mouth to form words like other cats. However, I had been hearing them for so long, how hard could it be to speak? Slowly, I opened my mouth, and tried to say the word 'hello'. A squeaky sound came out, sounding more like 'ewo' then the intended 'hello'. Deciding to give it another try, I spoke, "Hewo!" and though I said a few of the letters wrong, it still sounded better than the previous ewo. I felt a little bubble of laughter escape me, elated to be speaking for the first time in what felt like moons. Slowly, I sat up and, on shaky legs, managed to hold a sitting position for the first time in my life. I peered around the nursery, transfixed by all the colors and sounds there were. How big is this world? What wonders does it hold? I thought. Then, in the blink of an eye, I saw a cat padding up to me. Being a very shy cat myself, I wasn't sure what to do, so I just sat there and waited for the cat to speak.

|Yep, I'm Sageleaf  | "Hey Freezekit!" I mewed, flashing her a warm smile. For some reason, I wasn't being my usual shy self today. Maybe confidence developed as cats got older. With a mental shrug, I turned my attention back to Freezekit. "Well, it's very nice to meet you! My name is Melodykit, but you can just call me Melody, everyone does." I said, hoping to befriend the tabby. Struggling for a moment for something to talk about, I finally settled on a common topic. "So, who's your mother Freezekit? Mine's Lightfall." |

I smiled at the thought of having a sister in the nursery with me. The only relative I currently knew was Lightfall, so having Freezekit as a sister was nice. "I'm so glad we're sisters! It's so cool!" I purred, then listened to what she had to say next. What do I want my warrior name? I thought. I hadn't ever really considered it before, I'd been so caught up as enjoying my life as a kit. Listening to Freeezekit's ideas, I nodded. "I like Freezelight, and Freezestorm is nice to." I paused, thinking for a moment. "I think I'd like my warrior name to be Melodysong or Melodymist. They have a nice ring to them."

I nodded in agreement. "Yeah, they just came to me. I'll probably think of something better in the meantime." I mewed, and then tried to think of something else to talk about. "Do you want to play a game?" I asked excitedly after a moment's thought. I loved playing games, especially sneaky games like truth or dare of adventurous games like warriors.

I purred in delight as the other kit announced that she wanted to play. Finally, there was something to do around the nursery. Without hesitation, I mewed, "I would love to play Truth Or Dare, or maybe Warriors." I paused for a moment, caught my breath, and then continued. "Whichever you'd like to play, just let me know!" I said, not wanting to be rude.

I said, and tried to think of a good dare. "Truth or dare?" I asked Freezekit, hoping she'd choose dare, for I ha a pretty good one in mind.

I smiled as the other kitten asked truth. Now that they were both apprentices, they could do more risky things and not get in so much trouble. "Let's see..." I said, thinking for a moment. "Do you like, have a crush on any cats around here?" I asked, knowing that the question might be a little embarrassing, but still, I was curious.
