"You know, it's strange. They used to be so laid back and focused on romance, to the point where things weren't getting done around here and cats were going hungry. Now they're reckless. Quite a lot has changed over the generations," Maplefrost commented as he started grooming.
He twitched his ears in embarrassment. "You were a great mentor too. I should know," the tom laughed. "But yes, it is strange - I'd have thought that we would have a Duststar by now. When was the last time you saw Wildstar?"

"Its actually rare to see a couple stick together these days. They all seem to cheat or fall in love with someone else. It is really absurd." Maple and Wind had been together for quite a long time. It was evident that romance was still in abundance around the Clan but it was nothing more then failed relationships and love triangles, it seemed. "Not to say that some cats still aren't love crazy. But at least they are more sensible. Cats in my day ran away and became loners or threatened to fall off trees.. it was crazy." She sighed.
"Honestly I would have assumed that as well. Last I saw Wildstar, at least from what I remember was either she finally decided to come into camp or when we had moved camps." Needless to say it had been a while.
(Gonna go to bed oddly tired. Niigght♡)

"Yep. Did you hear what happened with Ashmist and Cloudspirit? They had kits, but apparently Cloudspirit had also had a litter with Rainlight of FireClan at the same time. So he ran off to be with her - and Ashmist followed. What idiocy. At least now we know that their loyalty doesn't lie in IceClan."
Shaking his head in disappointment, he twisted around to lick at the fur near his spine. "Do you remember when she had the entire Clan move to the middle of that desert? I almost lost my mind out there."

"Mhm. How can you just leave your Clan like that? How did they also to just carelessly leave all the kits they had here? What kind of parenting is that? Although I question Ashmist's motives most of all. She did not have kits in FireClan. Those two have lost a lot if all of my respect for leaving their Clan so easily. No respect for the home that raised them." She rolled her eyes. She'd never betray IceClan. She could only hope Dustpetal would not let traitors back in. If you made the decision to leave then you should have to permanently live with that decision even if it was filled with regrets. You messed up.
"That was insane. I remember.. I'm surprised no one had died. I have questioned a lot of Wildstar's motives and actions as long as I've known her as leader. I've seen her go through a few deputies and make some rash decisions. Maybe it is potentially a good thing that she isn't around often and our daughter makes most of the decisions." Wildstar had been through Birchtail, Thunderstripe, and then Dustpetal. There were also others, such as Dashfire who had gotten that position by take over.

"And that's partly why I dislike Emberstorm. The fool hops around to whatever group suits his fancy at the time. I hope he stays in FireClan this time," Maplefrost meowed, lip half-curled in disgust.
He ceased grooming and turned back in the general direction of his mate's voice. "D'you think she'll ever officially retire? I wonder if her extra lives extend her lifespan… well, depending on how many she still has."

"I tried to be neutral about him. He seemed like a decent one until he decided to turn his back on the Clan and head back. While maybe I understood he missed his old home it was his decision not to go back and make here his home. So why switch out just because hey you feel like it?" She honestly didn't get it. Why were all these IceClanners leaving their home for FireClan?
"Not sure. A warrior never knows how many lives a leader has left. They don't seem to like to make it public. I've never heard of how many she had. For all we know she could have all nine but I somewhat doubt that." She turned to look at the leader's den. "Got one heck of a lifespan."
