(@drought) sorry if its short
Eli dropped a scrawny crow onto the prey pile, flopping down beside it. DeathClan was so dead. Ha, that was funny. Death is dead. He barely laughed at his joke, rolling onto his back to let the dim sunlight soak his long fur. The camp was so boring and quiet - nothing to do, no one to talk to. All he could do was wallow in his own thoughts and ideas.
He rolled back onto his stomach as a cat finally approached - probably for prey and nothing else, but he didn't care. That's why he had chosen that spot, wasn't it? "Hi," he blinked, suddenly recognizing his leader and he dipped his head. "Remember me? D'ya scratch your plan for toughening up these soft guys?" He inquired, referencing their last conversation about sparring groups.

DROUGHT OF DEATHCLAN Well, he'd never call the dismal clearing a 'camp'. DeathClan wasn't quite like that. Everyone was scattered around the territory, and the only time they saw much of each other was during the announcements Drought occasionally held. Lately, though, it seemed like they were all hiding. Or gone.
Stepping over a small heap of leftover prey bones, the patched tom was about to climb onto the large, jagged rock in the center of the clearing. Not to call a meeting or anything, just to keep watch. But then he noticed Eli and changed course, stopping in front of the younger male and sitting down.
"Of course I do. I'm not that old yet," replied the leader casually. "But in all honesty, I don't know if there's enough cats left to do anything with. It's pathetic." WORDS: 135 || WRITTEN FOR: Eli NOTES - Short is completely fine! template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

Eli gave an amused grin, feigning horror at what he accidentally referenced. "I do apologize! I never meant to suggest that you were growing old! Even if you are, I could never tell - you still look as sharp and good-looking as ever!" He chuckled, moving aside to make room for Drought, who he'd come to think of as a friend. Well, moving towards friend.
"Eh, maybe everyone died," he shrugged, examining his claws to make sure swamp dirt hadn't clung to them. "Maybe we - excuse me, you - should spice it up a little?" He suggested. "I'm not suggesting your doing anything wrong - but it could attract new, young, and fresh members. Instead of these old dust-bags."

DROUGHT OF DEATHCLAN He grinned crookedly at the younger tom. "Ah, don't kid yourself. I'm not young anymore. Doesn't mean I'm getting useless, though," Drought added with a flex of his claws. A lifetime of getting into fights every other day had left him more nimble than others who were getting up there in moons. Age had not made this cat any less dangerous.
With a shrug, he continued, though he did frown a bit as they moved on to more serious conversation. "I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case," he stated dryly. "What, exactly, did you have in mind?" WORDS: 099 || WRITTEN FOR: Eli NOTES - n/a template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

oops, this is late
"Mm, 'course not. Just wiser," he grinned pleasantly at the tom. They were almost the same size, as Eli was quite a big kitty, but Drought was still bigger. The lynx-point tom marveled at the leader's size. "Exactly. Most of us are utterly useless," he grunted in a dissatisfied voice.
"Hm. Something... exciting," he grinned. "We need to make DeathClan look bigger and stronger. Form alliances, recruit members. I don't know. A lot of newbies will join out of pure fear, and those who are fear-ridden can do great amounts of damage!" He suggested. "Of course, that's just a little idea."

DROUGHT OF DEATHCLAN It was rare to find someone who appreciated the fact that Drought was no mindless brute. There were plenty of cats deserving of that title, and there was a reason why they weren't in charge of DeathClan. Being in this position required a certain degree of intelligence. Now, 'evil genius' wasn't an accurate term, especially as the patched tom was a bit of a moral nihilist, but calling him dumb was usually a fatal error.
"Alliances? With whom? Ragabash's Tribe has fallen, and I doubt any of the CloudClan-worshippers would want to be buddies with us. Unless there's a new group out there?" He paused, licked his lips, and spoke again. "Perhaps it is time for a recruitment trip into the rogue lands, though…" WORDS: 124 || WRITTEN FOR: Eli NOTES - It's fine! "Hm. That's true," Eli nodded, deep in thought. "Ew, the Clans? They would hardly be good allies anyways," he chuckled. "Besides, CloudClan? Why would they worship idiots like CloudClan? Darkpool is much better." Despite being part of an 'evil' group, Eli was not evil. He strongly disliked the clans, yes, but he didn't like harming people. Not directly, at least. If peace could be attained whilst DeathClan also reached the top of the hierarchy, that would be ideal.
"There may be some groups out there, or perhaps just solitary rogues - or even loners," he suggested. "You could send a patrol to check it out, if your curious," he added. He wanted to leave the deciding up to Drought, so that he wouldn't seem controlling in any way. He certainly liked being on the leader's good side, and wanted him to trust him eventually.

DROUGHT OF DEATHCLAN The leader inclined his head slightly. He'd be deeply amused if the Clans ever ended up on their side for once. After all, he had stolen their kits and taken over all of the territories for roughly a moon. A shame that it hadn't lasted.
"I'm thinking I'll go out there personally. Might bring one or two cats, since things can get dangerous, but it should be fine. Hmm… I wonder if there's still gangs at the quarry?" He lapsed into a contemplative silence. At one point, there had been a rather large group in the badlands, but he hadn't heard anything on them for several moons. It was surprising how cats could band together and then fall apart so quickly. WORDS: 121 || WRITTEN FOR: Eli NOTES - Bumping Eli up to royalty before I forget… template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

ahh really? <33
Eli nodded. "That sounds like a great plan," he agreed. "If you'd like me to come, I'd be happy to, though of course, I understand I'm not the… best choice," he chuckled with a small shrug. He was actually very curious about what resided at the edges of DeathClan, as he had only been there once. But even then, it was only to the twoleg place.
"Oh! I remember them," he said with a flick of his ear. "I heard of them a while back," Eli added with a thoughtful look in his eye. "Who led them?" He inquired curiously, looking back up at Drought.

DROUGHT OF DEATHCLAN "You can tag along if you'd like to," Drought meowed with a shrug. He had to wonder why Eli wouldn't think of himself as a decent option for the job - the other tom seemed alright.
The leader frowned slightly as he tried to remember what he'd heard about the groups in the badlands. "Not sure. I think there may have been some sort of connection with the Ravens, however. I'm sure you heard about what those cats did a few moons ago?" Drought wasn't entirely sure what to think about the Ravens. On one paw, an enemy of the Clans was usually an ally of DeathClan's… but on the other paw, they'd seemed too ambitious. He was almost jealous of how effectively they'd managed to unnerve the Clans. thats true c:
Eli grinned pleasantly at the leader. Fun, fun, fun! How could it not be fun? He'd always had an adventurous heart, and these new cats - if any were left - were sure to be interesting. Of course, if they ever got around to it. "Ah, the Ravens. I remember them as well - quite the go-getters," he said with a chuckle.
"Hm, no. What did they do?" He asked, slightly concerned. He wasn't aware of anything that the group had done, other than attack the clans. Maybe that's what he's talking about.

DROUGHT OF DEATHCLAN He chuckled, though the sound was rather dry. "Go-getters. That's one way of putting it." The Ravens had been more along the lines of a freight train without brakes - they'd been barreling relentlessly towards their goal and wiping out anyone who stood in their path. It wasn't even that they had the sheer firepower to be frightening. However, they did know how to effectively use hit-and-run tactics.
"Don't you know? They were behind a series of attacks on the Clans a while ago. Racked up a bit of a body count in the process, then disappeared. Quite the mystery." WORDS: 099 || WRITTEN FOR: Eli NOTES - n/a template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

"Mm," Eli responded with a nod. The fluffy tom pulled a crow towards him, dipping his head to take a bite. "How would you describe them?" He asked curiously. After a moment, he looked down at the bird resting at his paws. "Want any?" He offered with a grin.
"Ah yes. I remember that! Must have been quite entertaining," he said with a small sigh. "I remember hearing that they managed to dispatch at least one warrior or more from each clan - what an accomplishment. They would serve as very useful allies, if only they were still around," he said. "Where d'you think they went?"

DROUGHT OF DEATHCLAN "Ambitious, reckless, foolish… did you want me to continue?" Drought curled his lip a bit. "They got incredibly lucky, yes, but what they did was also just plain stupid. I'd have laughed if the Clans got their acts together enough to launch an attack on Raven headquarters. It wouldn't be a battle, it would be a slaughter."
He rolled his eyes and then focused on the crow. "No, but thanks. Already ate. In any case… I'd be an idiot to even consider an alliance with that group if they weren't gone. I assume they ran off to cause chaos somewhere else, and probably got themselves all killed in the process. Not everyone is as incompetent as the Clans when it comes to defense."
