@drought)
Ash flicked her spotted and striped tail, sitting atop a rock in the territory of DeathClan. The tabby had an odd feeling, someone would 'magically' appear in the small clearing she was in. The tabby looked at the trees' absence, and a few rocks and grass patches scattered about, and a river breaking across besides her. The she-cat then stretched and laid down, thinking of when she was younger. Suddenly noise got her attention, and shot her back to reality. She saw that something, a rock, fell out of a tree with a thud. How in DeathClan did that get up there? she thought, curiously walking to the stone with a sniff.

DROUGHT OF DEATHCLAN That would probably be his fault. Drought, perched high in the swaying branches of an old pine tree, was currently pawing through a hawk's nest. For some reason there had been a rock nestled in among with the eggs. He had no idea why - the phrase 'bird-brain' did exist for a reason.
The leader gently grabbed one of the somewhat-large eggs in his jaws, tucked a second under his chin, and sent the third flying down to the ground with a firm swipe of his paw. Better to kill off young hawks before they hatched and got a taste for cat blood. He began to climb down, unaware that there was a good chance he'd just hit Ash with that particular projectile. Oops. Ash was just about to walk off, until a flash of black and white skimmed her side. "What?!" she shouted, looking to see it was her leader, Drought. A rock.. Now Drought? What in the world.. she thought, before nodding in a greeting. "Hello there.. Drought. How are you?" The multi-colored tabby sat down, trying to forget what happened, which may cause more confusion to her head.

DROUGHT OF DEATHCLAN He didn't even notice Ash until he was halfway down the tree. Now, if it had been just another peasant, Drought probably would've sighed to himself and made his getaway through the branches. But he did enjoy the company of most of his royals.
He grinned wickedly when he dropped down beside the grey-furred cat. The leader set down his hawk eggs before responding. "Quite fine, actually, since I just nabbed myself a snack. Want one?" WORDS: 076 || WRITTEN FOR: Ash NOTES - n/a template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

Ash looked up the tree that her leader climbed down, seeing a pretty large nest, and many leaves. Isn't it nesting time? There must have been eggs up there, unless it was abandoned. She stretched her shoulders before letting her gaze fall back on Drought. "Well, I never had the taste of egg before, might be a good experience. Why, by my eyes, wouldn't those be hawk eggs?" she asked, before falling on her stomach to examine the eggs.

DROUGHT OF DEATHCLAN "Indeed they are," the older feline purred. He pushed one of them towards Ash, then rolled the other closer to himself in order to start prodding at the shell. Hawk eggs were a rare treat. It was a bit of an acquired taste, but he'd grown to enjoy it.
Drought set to work with his claws; this egg looked like it was just the right age. "Ever tried these before?" he murmured absentmindedly, flicking a stray piece of shell away. WORDS: 080 || WRITTEN FOR: Ash NOTES - n/a template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

Ash nodded, glad these eggs were now not going to be a threat, she'll eat hawk before it can eat cat. There were rumors that hawks can eat kits and young cats, wonder if it's true. "Well, no actually. I heard they were gooey, sometimes there is a baby hawk in the shell, almost born. When is it the best taste?" she asked, tapping it, slightly confused of what to do.

DROUGHT OF DEATHCLAN Drought had seen some interesting things during his lifetime. Once, when he was still young, he'd headed off to find his mother: Adder. They'd never been particularly close - which was somewhat of an understatement. She had abandoned him and Deluge as kits to fend for themselves. Well… the scarred tom did find her eventually. But it seemed that some winged predator had gotten there first. Adder was dead with a slashed throat and talon wounds all over her shoulders.
He was not upset by this discovery.
These memories drifted vaguely across Drought's mind while he began feasting on his egg. "Usually you want to eat them when the hawk is formed but not quite ready to hatch. It's tricky to grab 'em at the right time. These look like they're almost perfect, though." WORDS: 133 || WRITTEN FOR: Ash NOTES - n/a template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

Ash then stared at the oddly shaped object, sniffing it with a small wrinkle with her nose. Hope it tastes good.. The tabby tried to scrape the shell off, tapping it harder, but nothing. She looked around, and found the rock from the trees, and put it beside the egg. She took a quick glimpse at Drought to see if she was embarrassing herself, but quickly looked at the rock and frowned. The she-cat picked it up with a scoop of her claws and dropped it on the rock from a close distance, and then started peeling the shell off. "Oh, good thing. A nice snack to keep me going," she said, sniffing and clawing alternatively. "What happened to you lately?"

DROUGHT OF DEATHCLAN Though his whiskers twitched in slight amusement at Ash's egg-cracking strategy, he made no comment on it. Drought had finished his own snack and was licking his lips several moments later. He casually raised a paw to lap at it, then drew it over his scarred face a few times.
"Not a lot. I can't do much when there's nobody around here." His words were nonchalant enough, but there was a flicker of irritation beneath it all. Where in Darkpool's name had his followers gone? WORDS: 085 || WRITTEN FOR: Ash NOTES - n/a template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

The tabby found she opened the snack, and then started sniffing, then eating inside. "Oh.. that.." she said, then frowned quickly, "You're the only cat I have seen for days." she said blankly. What's going on? Are they dying, leaving? The tabby stopped eating halfway, and then silently looked up at Drought for any answers if he knew.

DROUGHT OF DEATHCLAN Drought had no answers, but he could hypothesize. At the moment, though, his growing irritation prevented him from doing so. "Wherever they are, I'd better start seeing some activity around here soon," the black-and-white feline muttered. "And they wonder why I don't trust them! First chance they get, everyone's run for the hills. What a bunch of fools."
Well, at least he had one loyal cat. That had to count for something. WORDS: 072 || WRITTEN FOR: Ash NOTES - n/a template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

Why would cats flee? Maybe they're in their dens, that would be lazy. They ought to be somewhere.. she thought, rolling her eyes at the thought. Drought seemed annoyed by the occurrence, she started to compare. "Why would you think they would leave for? Maybe their just hard to pass by, since DeathClan seems to have a wide territory, or so say."
(I just found there or four words that rhymed with Drought in there.)

DROUGHT OF DEATHCLAN "Any number of reasons, really. Don't kid yourself - if they were here, you'd be able to find them. There used to be a day when you couldn't walk a dozen fox-lengths without seeing a fight. Those were better times."
DeathClan had definitely calmed down, and Drought didn't like it at all. But there wasn't much he could do about it right now. With a disgruntled sigh, the patched tom changed the subject.
"Have you gone near Twolegplace recently? I smelled rats a few days ago. Need to make sure they won't swarm us again." WORDS: 094 || WRITTEN FOR: Ash NOTES - n/a template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

Ash sighed, "Wow, that's a lot of fighting.. Maybe.. we should try to recruit more cats? Or try to make the others show up?" the youngling suggested, but not liking the ideas. The tabby was mostly calm and dozed, but until she heard the word 'twolegplace'. "Actually.. I haven't been close lately.. What should we do? One day I can go and take another cat with me to check if you want."
