MAPLEFROST OF ICECLAN It was pitch black in the mountains, probably a few hours after dusk. Not that it mattered to the blind elder.
What did matter was the way echoes of thunder rumbled through the camp. Rain splattered halfheartedly on Maplefrost's pelt as he sat outside his den. He didn't really care. I'm comfortable right here and I'm not going to move for a storm.
Ears filled with the sounds of falling droplets and lightning splitting the air, he didn't hear the cat approaching him. WORDS: 083 || WRITTEN FOR: Anyone NOTES - Open to one! Lazy posts preferred. Title's from this song since apparently I'm in love with the band. template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

just like a firetruck | @maplefrost • idk you count • sorry its short Nightpaw limped around, her broken leg that she refused to get checked was twisted more awkwardly and dried with blood. Her fur was getting soaked in the rain, but she didn't want to be crammed in the apprentices den so she went to catch on the elders. With a snow-rabbit in her jaws the young apprentice stalked forward and then saw the blind elder of Maplefrost. "Uh.. Sir?" she mewled as she sat the prey down. "Aren't you cold?" she asked as she put the prey by his paws.
"I came to make sure you all were okay, you seem fine.. right?" she asked tilting her head and then grinned. "Excuse my manners! I'm Nightpaw!"

MAPLEFROST OF ICECLAN He thought he smelled blood for a second, but the scent was quickly battered down by the rain. Twisting around curiously with his jaws parted, Maplefrost nearly jumped when someone suddenly spoke.
"Bah, don't call me sir." The Maine Coon did enjoy respect, but unnecessary formalities made him nauseous. "Maplefrost. And I'm quite fine." He paused, still trying to find that fleeting metallic tang with his nose, and then sighed in frustration.
"D'you smell that?" WORDS: 075 || WRITTEN FOR: Nightpaw NOTES - n/a template by Margie @ Adoxography v2

"Didn't mean to scare ya, sorry." she mewled trying so hard to hold back a laugh, all that squeaked out was a little chuckle. The apprentice flicked her ear and nodded. "Alright, Maplefrost." she said with a smile as she sat down and then got a bit of a panic when he mentioned the smell. She lay her ears back and gave a awkward 'heh...heh..' sound as she stepped back a bit.
"Oh that? I uh, just cut myself a little on a broken branch that had made its way on our territory when training. Nothing big." she lied. I am so glad he's blind! she thought quietly.

MAPLEFROST OF ICECLAN He just shrugged, not exactly proud of the fact that losing his sight had made him more prone to being startled. Especially by kittens. The little buggers were everywhere now that newleaf had arrived, and they liked to treat the elders' den like a playground. He'd gotten sick of it by the end of the first day.
Now, he might not be able to see that Nightpaw was lying, but he could definitely smell something off. "You cut it training… what, this morning? And it's still bleeding? You should see the medicine cats." Maplefrost frowned slightly in concern. Sometimes it was a miracle that the younger cats didn't get themselves killed constantly.
