Ceremonies 17/4

[Robinstar]

"All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather here beneath Highrock!" The tabby deputy yowled, voice echoing across camp. Waiting until enough of his clanmates had gathered, he began the ceremonies.

"Coalpaw, you are strong and thoughtful. It is time for you to become a warrior. I name you Coalfoot. Do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and defend your clan, even at the cost of your life? Then I commend you to CloudClan, to become a warrior.

"For reasons unknown, Rabbitpaw's mentor is unable to continue her training. Coalfoot will be your new mentor.

"By naming this apprentice, we show that IceClan will survive and remain strong. Dappledkit, from now on you will be known as Dappledpaw. Cinderlily, you are ready for an apprentice. You will be Dappledpaw's mentor.

"By naming this apprentice, we show that IceClan will survive and remain strong. Oak-kit, from now on you will be known as Oakpaw. I will be your mentor.

"By naming this apprentice, we show that IceClan will survive and remain strong. Lilykit, from now on you will be known as Lilypaw. Robinheart, you are ready for an apprentice. You will be Lilypaw's mentor."

Robinfrost gave a small, encouraging smile to each of the newly named cats. 

"These aren't the only cats we will be welcoming into new dens. We have some new arrivals - KitKat and Hershey will be joining IceClan. They've requested to keep their names.

"We also have some sad news. Our beloved queen, Lightfall, has passed away due to an eagle attack this morning. Her vigil will be held tonight, and. I encourage you to take part. My condolences to those who knew her closely." His expression was grim as he spoke. "That will be all."

[Oakpaw]

Oakkit had known that her ceremony would be coming soon. It was to be any day now, and when she heard Robinfrost's yowl, she jumped to her feet, sprinting out of the nursery. The first name called was an apprentice she didn't know, thought she cheered for them. Secondly, Rabbitpaw was called. She frowned; she hadn't realized he was already an apprentice, but oh well. Then it was Dappledkit's, another she already knew. She cheered for her as well.
Then it was hers. She genuinely squealed, something she'd never done. An apprentice--at last--and with Robinfrost as her mentor.
The rest of the ceremony was a blur. She repeated blankly a few times the names of the new kits--what strange names--and grew somber at the mention of Lightfall's death. She hadn't known her closely, but it was of course devastating news.
After the ceremony, she hung awkwardly near the rock, wondering who she should talk to--Rabbitpaw and Dappledpaw or Robinfrost.

[Lightheart]

Lightheart cheered out the names of the newly named apprentices and warriors, though he it was probably noticeable that he called out Coalfoot's name a little louder than the others. It's about time she became a warrior, he thought, sombering when he heard of Lightfall's death. She was Dawnbriar's mother, wasn't she? he thought, wondering where his mate was, and if she needed comforting.
Deciding he would go look for her later if she didn't attend the ceremony, the pale tabby went to go congratulate his friend.

[Deleted]

Dawnbriar cheered the names of the newly named cats, coalfoot being the loudest. She had great joy for her sister, she stopped cold, lightfalls vigil was tonight. She was going to join no matter what. She paded over to coalfoot, saying congrats to all the newly named cats, plus the newcomers. She went over to congratulation her sister, "Congrats, coalfoot, you really deserve it." She glanced over to lightheart, when he came close enough she Nuzzled him, tear running down her face still. "I didn't want her to go..."

[Duskrise]

Duskpaw called out loudly the names of all the new apprentices plus the new warrior. 

However, for once his ears were flattened back and he had a somber look on his face. He'd never exactly met his mother properly, any time he'd spent with her he'd forgotten since it was all when he was but a newborn kit. Tears welled up in his eyes, however he didn't allow them to fall. 'Crying never helps anyone. I'm sure... Even though I didn't know her really... She wouldn't want anyone getting too caught up in her death.' He looked over at Dawnbriar who was over by the new warrior.

"We'll be fine.... Believe it." He whispered softly. He knew Dawnbriar wouldn't be able to hear, but he liked to believe she heard somehow.

[Coalfoot]

Coalfoot swelled with pride. She was finally a warrior AND she got an apprentice too! "Thanks guys," she grinned when Lightheart and Dawnbriar came over.

The new warrior looked down at her paws. "I'm happy. Is that wrong? Dawnbriar and my mother is dead and we are rejoicing. I-I just... Miss her. A lot."

[Lilypad]

Lily paws heart warmed. An apprentice no one could tell her not to climb any den walls now! It sank at realizing that was why her mother was never around she had seemed to have died the day she opened her eyes she felt like she was falling but not to a soft mossy fur but to an endless hole. She felt a salty drop of pain kit her paw and the dry dirt below her. Biting her lip she faked a smile. Just s-smile. But how!?

[KitKat]

KitKat watched the ceremony, in awe of the customs, and especially by the amount of cats and food. "This wasn't what we were expecting, but now we get unlimited food!" He said happily to @hershey. It had come to his attention that the warriors hunted every day to provide food. "Hm, do you think we'll have to be trained?" He asked his friend, the word sounded foreign on his tongue.

When his name was called, he stood awkwardly and stepped forward. "Thank you!" He said, a goofy grin on his face, before sitting back down. He glanced around at the gathered cats, waiting for something else to happen. Wait, someone died? Is this normal? What did we get ourselves into?

[Lightheart]

"No one likes to see a clanmate die," Lightheart comforted his mate, brushing his fur against hers and pressing his nose gently against her cheek, "but I'm sure she's watching over you --over all of us-- from CloudClan. And I'll admit I didn't know her very well, but I'm sure she'd rather see her kits smiling than weeping," the pale tabby mewled, looking Coalfoot in the eye for a moment. It wasn't wrong for her to mourn, but he knew that her mourning shouldn't hold her back from the happiness she deserved. She was a warrior now, with a new apprentice to train, and there was no reason to feel guilty about that.

[Lilypad]

Lilypaw bit her lip
~I'm an apprentice I can take care of my self I got what I wanted, but why am I crying ~

[Rabbitpaw]

" Yes! " Rabbitpaw exclaimed. He was finally an apprentice! He also got to have the mentor he wanted! Things were going very well for Rabbitpaw. He also got to be made apprentice at the same time as his sibllings.
" Thank you so much Robinfrost! I promise I'll try my hardest at being an apprentice! " Rabbitpaw promised.
Rabbitpaw went over to congratulate Coalfoot on gaining warrior as well.
" Good job Coalfoot! " Rabbitpaw congratulated.

[Coalfoot]

"Thanks. Congrats on becoming an apprentice! Training will start tomorrow," Coalfoot told Rabbitpaw.

[Fallowpaw]

Fallowkit bounded over to Lillypaw, heart swelling with pride. "Congratulations...." she murmured, trying to sound happy. But the weight of Lightfall's death hung on her shoulders like prey. She remembered seeing her mother's body, and sobbing in her fur. I didn't know my mother too well... but she's my mother. How can I forget her?

"Soon we can be apprentices together." she meowed to her sister.

[Lilypad]

She couldn't let her sister see her cry she blinked away tears and turned with a smile "y-yhaa! It'll be g-great"

"Good job Coalfoot!" Waterbreeze said after the ceremony with a grin.
