(i don't even care y'all could drown without me but nope look how NICE I AM)
Oakpaw tested the water with a paw--it was chilly, but the air was slightly muggy today and it was, at the least refreshing. She padded in to where Dappledpaw was, then continued past, exploring the slowly-moving stream. Still, the deepest it got was slightly below her eyes, and she paddled awkwardly as she got into the groove and managed to pull her head fully out of the water as the tup of her paws grazed the sandy bank.
She paddled back over to Rabbitpaw and Dappledpaw, standing on the bank next to them and shivering a little bit. "It's a lot like walking, only there's nothing under your feet. You have to really cup your paws and get some water behind them, too."

You have to cup your paws? How odd. Knowing Dappledpaw, she wasn't
the least reluctant bit to throw herself out there, or act totally awkward ridiculous.
Launching herself into the stream, she got a little panicky as she couldn't swim, but then struck her paws out -- just like walking... and tried to cup them like her friend had suggested. Her head soon afterwards bobbed back above the water, and she grinned. I did it, I'm swimming!

(so i guess we gave up on nicolas and we probably shouldn't let this die ugh)
Oakpaw gave a tight smile, but reluctantly let it grow into a real one, albeit a small one. "That's pretty good," she meowed, awkwardly making her way back to a place she could touch. She'd been wanting to try this for a while, and as a test, she took a deep breath and ducked completely underwater.
It felt strange, pushing at her eyes, and she let one float open. All she caught was a blurry image as she immediately shut it again, coming back up to the surface for air, but it hadn't exactly hurt.

[forever inactive he'll stay i guess]
She felt proud to get a praise - even if it were small - from her friend, Oakpaw(it feels weird being a warrior w/o you guys). As Oakpaw made her way into the stream, carefully so, but had eventually completely submerged beneath the surface. Blinking rapidly, as if trying to clear a fog, she tilted her head curiously at her friend, who soon after shot back up, drenched. "Ooh, cool." was all she managed to say after a moment.

(no stop aging)
"That's sort of freaky," Oakpaw mewed with a small frown, and gasped a big gulp of air, trying to breathe through her stomach before she again sumberged herself completely, this time just opening her eyes.
She could barely make out a few dark shapes, but it seemed enough to navigate. Hesitantly, she pushed herself forward, and promptly inhaled a snootful of water. Gasping for air, she flung herself back to the surface--not as far away as she thought, so she managed to push herself a good ways above the water before bobbing back down--and sneezed violently, still dribbling lake water.

(Muahaha I'm back I was grounded people cheel. Been gone for what a month? You two are still learning to swim... XD)
Rabbitpaw emerged from the water and shook his pelt. ( cats do that right?) Water pooled under him and he coughed up stream water. " Yeah its kinda weird down there, can't really make out anything except for blurry shapes." Rabbitpaw mewed. " If we keep this up we'll start growing gills!" Rabbitpaw exclaimed. (Month long air capacity under water)

(u nerd)
Oakpaw couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Of course we wouldn't grow gills," she mumbled under her breath. "I mean, I get the comparison," she said before he could correct her, and shivered a little bit as a blast of wind hit her wet pelt. "It'd be cool if we could learn to swim underwater, though. Really convenient."

" and shivered a little bit as blast of wind hit her wet pelt. "It'd be cool-" ha get it shivered and it'd be cool hehe. Okay I'll stop)
" Maybe it could be a new way of catching fish?" Rabbitpaw suggested. " Go straight to the fish and don't wait for the fish to come to us! " Rabbitpaw exclaimed. This could be a whole new way of gathering food for their clan. " What do you think Dappledpaw?" Rabbitpaw asked.

(that gave me heartburn)
Oakpaw shrugged. "I don't know. It seems like they'd see you coming a long ways away, or feel the water moving. We're probably the largest moving things here." She frowned a little bit, not wanting to think about something larger than a cat that swam in the dark water. "Dappledpaw?"

(becoming a warrior during an apprentice thread is so inconvenient, like "yes, i left my friends for several minutes to be made a warrior then came back")
Dappledpaw seemed to have dozed off. "Oh... uh, it seems unlikely we'd catch fish," she began, "unless you're incredibly still, though, otherwise you might disturb the fish instead of catching them." She silently scorned herself. "It's not impossible, though," she added with a solemn mew.

(you can keep rping as an apprentice lol since you started the thread as that sooooooo ya) (MS QUEEN BTW)
"No, you're right," Oakpaw nodded, equally solemn. "Any movement in the water is sure to cause a ripple through the whole thing, and fish are more skilled at it than us." She clambered out of the water and shook her pelt, feeling undignified, and pausing in a more elegant pose before kneeling at the water's edge. "So--what do you guys think?" she asked awkwardly. "It's... cool, right? It's an important skill for IceClan warriors to have, anyway," she finished, mumbling her last few words.

( Stuck in priv thread with staff congratz Potato ) " Sure I'd think it'd be cool but I don't know if others would be willing to get their paws wet. " Rabbitpaw agreed. He wasn't sure why they were acting so awkward over fishing... He made his way over farther down stream where a little water fall spewed water into the lower parts of the stream. An idea came to him. " Instead of wading through the water to find them, " he shouted " lets just stand on the bank and reach our paw in. " ( #WitchHunter #NotInvited #RiverClanStrats #Smart )

(ty tyyyyy)
She nodded to herself. "I guess that could work, just try not to fall in," Dappledpaw mewed. There were also several flat stones in the river often used to cross to the base of the mountains, maybe they could fish on those? She hopped over a fallen branch, then bunched her muscles, leaping and landing on the rock.
"We could also fish here," she suggested nonchalantly. "Or in the shade, since they wouldn't see us..."

(okay so what does tyyy even mean tho because i get like the EMOTIon but)
"That's how you'd normally fish," Oakpaw informed him with a touch of superiority. "Robinstar taught me that my first training session--but I haven't really had a chance to practice." She padded over to him, squinting at the water. "The trick is to flick your paw in the place the fish is going to be."
Oakpaw looked up at where Dappledpaw/leaf was standing. "That's a good place too."
