She was small, no more than a kit, while I was nearing my warrior ceremony. I wondered if I once once as small as this kit. Surely I had been, but it was still awfully hard to imagine myself as so....so innocent and carefree.
I smiled when she spoke a quiet "hello" in a small, squeaky voice; much like I had sounded at her age. In response, I nodded towards her, and mewed, "Hello little one. What might your name be?"
It was always fun to meet new kids, especially if they happened to end up being one of my siblings. Hey, you never knew, right? |

"I am Softkit." she replied. She smiled and glanced at this other cat. An apprentice, nearing her warrior ceremony by the looks, with a grey pelt and green eyes. She racked her brain to see if she remembered a name of a cat looking like this. She swore she had heard of a cat just like this. "Melodypaw, right?" she asked after a long moment.

Softkit. Not a bad name for this kit, for it described her fluffy coat. Then the kit did something that surprised me, and amused me. She guessed my name off the top of her head. Surely, she had probably heard of me somewhere, but still, it was pretty cool.
With a soft laugh and a flicker of amusement in my eyes, I replied, "Yes, that's me. So, how are you today, Softkit?" I asked, unsure of what else I was supposed to say. |

I said, realizing that I hadn't really had a chance to catch up with her lately. I made a mental note to try to talk to my mother sometime soon. It had been too long. "What about yours?" I asked, thinking how awesome it would be if we were sisters. Wait, was Lightfalls still bearing kits? Gosh, I really did need to look into my family more often. Well, I had nothing else to do, so I made yet another mental note to see if she was just a normal warrior again. |

God, I really did miss her. It was one of those things that you forgot about because you just wanted to live a normal life, but them someone brought it up and you got all depressed once again.
With a sad sigh, I tuned back into what she was saying. "Well, that's nice. It's pretty rare to know both of your parents, especially because most cats, even warriors, don't know their fathers.'' That was the strange thing about the Clans. So many kits, but not all that many mothers. Not many cats knew their parents, and certainly usually not both of them.

"My mentor is Quillfoot, but hey, you'll be an apprentice soon, who do you want for your mentor?" I asked, seriously hoping that she wouldn't say that she wanted Quillfoot as well. This kit seemed nice, but somewhat annoying.

"Hmm... Let me think on that one... Why should I pick like, five moons before I come an apprentice? That just doesn't seem right." She replied. She could request anyone really, why pick... Let the leader chose, it's his choice anyways. She wondered if Melodypaw would end up mentoring her. It would be a choice that she would not make. It just wasn't her.

"No offense, but you look close to apprentice age around this time. You really should start thinking about it." Then a wild idea popped into my head. "Maybe I could be your mentor." I said with a goofy grin.
