[Icepaw]

Icekit pushed himself into the corner of the nursery, screwing his eyes shut as he willed himself to evaporate into the shadows.     Why do have to have a white pelt? Or, well, I guess it's technically more like a pale gray, but stands out all the same! It's impractical. It will only ever be useful during leaf-bare, and that's only one fourth of the year, the tom's mind ranted, and he opened his eyes so he could nervously glance around the dark den. It was fairly early in the morning, and the only reason Icekit was awake was because he had a nightmare. This had been happening more frequently lately, to the point where the pale gray tom feared falling asleep.     What's that! he snapped his head in the direction of a movement from one of the nests, his silver eyes growing wide as they tried to make out what was moving in the darkness.

Cypresskit tried to suppress a yawn but it came out anyway. No no no, I am not tired, she thought. She hated being tired in the morning. Why do we get tired, it's so annoying. Another yawn escaped her, but this time she didn't bother trying to suppress it. Her eyelids began to droop as her body willed her to sleep some more. "NO," she murmured fiercely, "I just woke up." She looked around to see if any other cat was awake. Everything seemed still to her. With a great push she heaved herself up onto her haunches. What was that? "I swear I saw something." She moved towards the direction of the movement trying to be as fearless as possible. "Is any cat there?" she asked a little too loudly.

"NO," Icekit squeaked and jumped, startled as his attentive ears caught a voice in the darkness, just loud enough for him to hear.     Oh dear CloudClan something's over there. It probably wants to eat me. That's it. I'm gonna die here, he thought, shaking and squeezing his eyes shut.  There was some more noises and a shuffling sound, as if someone was walking towards him. Panicing, he dropped down and placed his paws over his head. If he couldn't melt into the nursery walls he could at least try to become one with the moss...  Daring to sneak a peak at the world through his snowy-white paws, Icekit fearfully noticed a form growing closer. It seems his brilliant plan had failed.     "Is any cat there?" the voice from before asked. It didn't sound menacing, but it still scared the pale gray tom. After all, what if it was some evil dark-forest cat trying to gain his trust before they tore him into tiny pieces and fed him to badgers. Still, he opened his mouth to reply, although all that came out was a high-pitched whimper rather than an actual answer.

Cypresskit twitched her ears thinking that she heard a squeak. "It was probably just nothing," she reassured herself. Still, she kept on walking towards the noise. A high-pitched whimper entered her ears making her flinch. What? Her heart began to beat a little faster than usual. "Wait, is it scared of me?" she whispered to herself. She began to walk faster, nearly stumbling on her own paws. She bent her hind legs, jumped, and aimed at the figure with outstretched paws as if she wanted to take it down.

Dear CloudClan, once I'm dead please send a lightning-bolt down to disintegrate my body so evil possessed maggots don't infest my corpse and force me to come back alive as a half-dead half-alive monster kitten that will try to devour everyone in my clan, Icekit prayed in his head, not daring to look up as he heard even more scuffling. Every hair in his pale gray pelt was standing on edge, probably making him look like a giant fluffy snowball. Suddenly the sound of paw-steps vanished.     Am I safe? the silver-eyed tom thought, not really believing it. He had stopped shaking for a moment, but didn't dare move in case the thing that had been moving around was still there. Once again he cracked an eye open, almost screeching in terror when the form from earlier was practically on top of him.

As she felt the fluffy fur of a kitten under her she began to giggle with relief knowing that it wasn't anything dangerous she would have to vanquish on her own. "I'm not going to lie...you scared me for a second there." Before she could stop anymore giggles from coming out she started to laugh, not really caring if anyone else would wake up from the amount of noise she was making. After her laughter died off she began to notice something. "I think I see your eye," she said, moving closer to the other cats face and accidentally hitting his nose with hers. "Oh," she said in surprise and rolled of the cat. "Sorry about that, did I hurt you?" she asked finally realizing that she pounced on an innocent kitten.

pffft i know. such an optimist, right? XD Icekit has pretty much given into the idea that he was going to die by the time his "attacker" finally made contact with him. Still, a surprised gasp at the impact managed to escape him.     Please let there be no insects in CloudClan, he thought, waiting for claws to rip through his flesh. Instead of claws, though, his ears were met with laughter.      "I'm not going to lie... you scared me for a second there," the fluffy kitten looked at the owner of this familiar voice with wide, disbelieving eyes. He had scared her? The fact that Icekit had managed not to soil the moss under him in fear was hard enough to believe, but this? No, she must be messing with him. It wasn't as if he was very menacing. Caught up in his thoughts, the tabby-pointed tom didn't even notice the other kitten come close.     "I think I see your eye," Icekit squeaked as she bumped her nose against his, presumably by accident. He would have straightened up by reflex, but the fact that the she-cat was still on top of him proved quiet the problem. He was too shocked to say anything about this though, but felt his muscles relax slightly as she rolled off him. As soon as his back was freed the pale gray tom straightened up, shifting slightly away from the... stranger? There was defiantly something familiar about her. Icekit's mind was just too hazy from the whole fright to place it right now.     "N-N-No, I-I think I'm fine," he replied, his usual stutter present, "just a bit sh-shaken. I-I thought you were a D-Darkpool warrior th-that was trying to kill me.... or som-something..," he mewled, giving a nervous chuckle afterward and looking down at his paws, before quickly glancing up with wide silver eyes, "but, you aren't, right?"

"But why would a Darkpool warrior want to kill a kit? We're pretty useless to them right?" she replied bluntly. "I mean, I'm sure that the warriors in our clan would protect us," she said trying to lighten her bluntness not too long ago.
"Do you always talk like that? I think I know some cat who talks a lot like you." She didn't bother hiding her annoyance as she rarely does. The way that he talked was weird to Cypresskit and didn't like it very much. She felt a little bad about judging him so quickly. The only thing that she could do is try not to let his voice annoy her. I'll grow used to it, she thought.

Violetkit clawed at her moss she gave up on trying to black out the noise. She was so hot her fur attracted heat and she was sick of it and grumpy."Because if they kill us then our clan has no future warrior"She sneered burying her head.
